I suspect that if you compared even 3 identical Tecsuns, everyone would show a different result. How lucky(zero gate voltage drain current and forward transconductance FET Transistors in mixer more important than the name of the radio) The schemes of the input part, on which the sensitivity depends, are the same for them.
Interesting that people in Japan use Tecsuns while Japanese Sony radios (even old ones) are much better in terms of reception and quality circuit boards.
Of course, we want to get SONY radios but they have been discontinued. We have to find them at an auction site in expensive price. So we cannot help buying cheaper TECSUNs. Thanks and 73s!

It’s mostly, if not all, static. I don’t understand. Is a clear SW / SSB channel impossible? I have seen far too many static videos as I search for what I thought would be a good addition to my emergency supplies. What am I missing?
I wonder how you deal with battery consumption of these portables?! they need a lot of food(: once I tried to buy my tecsun pl660 a suitable adapter but unfortunately the shop was not specialized enough and did damage to it possibly due to the high voltage! I am still trying to fix the problem but still not working properly ):
Just bought 20 IKEA's Ladda 2700 mA High Drain Rechargeable Batteries for my night DXPEDITION's. I hate to operate those energy hungry receivers with normal batteries, it's too cost intensive.

@@sa6kod154 Often proper antenna and location that's free from interference is overlooked. Allot more emphasis is given to which radio receiver is the best.
Hi,I have a PL600,I have done a very simple mod to avoid distorsion on AM (just to add a resistor to equalize audio gain AM at the same level than FM).A very good little receiver.Personnaly I find the PL660 is the best of three.Olivier.

I think you have to realize listening to a clear station is no fun. Static is where it's at. 😂

I use rechargable battery for all these radios since an ac adaptor makes noise. Thank you and 73! :)

Pl600 и 680 намного экономичнее от 660… 660 прожорлив.. но Есть еще один премиум приемник sangean 909, очень красивый… Но жрет даже больше чем 660….
