@LimerickWarrior1 WT is not really a p2w game. It's closer to a pay to grind game. Alot of p2w new players in WT are an eazy kill. Skill does matter alot in this game. I know WoT does need a skill as well. But there are quite alot of more insane broken overpowered premium vehicles compare to WT, which only has some overpowered premium vehicles (now most of them get br compresed)
I played WoT almost from the beginning. As a German i have now almost all German tanks. My Panzer 4 against a Russian KV was i needed to stay far away and hit him several times to kill him. If he got close enough to me he blew me up quick. Fun times and as realistic as you can make it in a game. Today the KV sees me and can shoot me on equal distance while i still blow up after one hit. The changes over the years made German tanks useless. Even worse with the TD Ferdinand....used to be a killing machine long distance. Today it's a useless paper bag. I stopped playing for 6 years and went in again last weekend. One day it took to realize i will never play it ever again. My whole collection is useless these days.......
I genuinely relate to this, but i was russian & french gang. Like back when ELC amx had the t8 gun with 212 pen or whatever it was.
and the game has gotten more pay to win. premium tanks that are stronger than tech tree, overpowered lootbox tanks like bz176 to encourage gambling. complete predatory practices

Agreed, the game is a far cry from what it was.. the pace of the game is hella slow, arty has been nurfed to hell, spotting is more broken than ever, the game is more campy than ever, power creep all over the place, no sense of balance, more RNG than ever, PAY TO WIN Tanks and Mechanics, boosting, match making.. omg don't get me started on that topic and the list goes on...
The game is a unplayable mess, no one should give this thing the time of day, for the love of god don't give them money, this game is on life support and should not be helped till they are willing to help themselves by wtf up!!!!
For me, to make a long story short... it's the wheeled vehicles, double barrel tanks and now jet propelled heavy tanks as well as the seemingly rigged match maker.
it simply adds diversity to the game, first of all, every tank you just described is free to play, and two, each has disadvantages, doublebarrelled has low penetration, wheeled has no armour or health, and the rocket tanks aren't really that good overall
@@deezg-nl1ns But it makes the game look more like a mash up of Comand and Conquer vehicles then an actual "tank" fighting game. I mean at this point they could add the "Ratte" in or space ships with tracks. As long as there is some "super hidden prototype" plan flying around.

Broken MM killed the game. They could literally take the existing MM, then just swap the even number players from team 1 and team 2 to create a balanced play experience. Win or lose, a match over in
and if you call it out in the forums you get mocked and called a "conspiracy" theorist. the game has really gone down hill. also lots of pay to win tanks that are just flat out stronger than tech tree tanks
they need to implement a balancing of distributed skill across both teams, where shitters and good players are equal. would make the games more even

Exact same is happening in War Thunder, they cant even, or simply dont want to distribute players who only have a single premium vehicle equally over both teams. So you end up with all the 1 tank players on 1 team and the ones with a full ine up on the other. Guess what happens at high tiers when those 1 tankers get nuked 30 seconds into the game and only a handfull of players with full line ups are left on a single team against a full team on the other side.
Map rotation is horrendous with the same handfull of maps and battle modes over and over out of the potentially 100's of map variations there are in game. Nope the same shitty maps over and over all day long.
Onesided matches that last minutes are the norm instead of the exception at high tier, steamroll slaughterfests galore where even the most highly skilled players struggle to get a single kill. Not to mention the completely broken air support system in ground battles where planes and heli's spawn outside of range of even the most powerfull SPAA's and start spewing rockets before they even show up on radar. By the time you have a lock and your missiles are on it's way you get destroyed in your SPAA, and you cant sit anywhere safe from ground vehciles to because the map design is the same basic 3 prong attack funneling players into a slugfest or CQC in cramped cities.
War Thunder is not fun anymore and Gaijin is sucking the fun out of it even more and more, they survive by drawing in new players with shinny premiums taking their money and not caring to actually make them keep playing the game.
The problem with both WoT and WT is they are both different games and both dont have any competition and thus zero incentive to actually do something, where are you going to go? GHPC, Steel Beasts? not exactly games easy to get into or play for fun and to play with friends either.
The only fun in War Thunder is to play in a squad with friends and listen to each other suffering.

I uninstalled WoT in 2015. War Thunder lasted up until 2021.

I uninstalled couple of months ago after ten years and don't miss it in the slightest.
The cheating is out of control. A guy literally twitch streamed himself using cheats during clan wars and Wargaming did NOTHING. That's why it is dying.
Slow mechanics are exactly the reason why WoT players used to love this game, not everybody enjoys the Fortnite/Apex/GTA ADHD style. Some people enjoy a tactical game. It was fun until WG started to milk the cow. Premium tank, premium ammo, premium account etc. It's not obvious until tier 7, from 8 to 10 it's a nightmare, one single mistake and you blow up, golders are shooting you from whatever direction, penetrating ever the hardest armor, but if you try to shoot back, even if you shoot the tracks, you will not even scratch them. I came back from a pause of 3 years and it's worse, and it's getting worse. Imagine this like corruption in society: You study hard, prepare for a job, get the necesary degree, get ready to get the thing that you worked hard for, and there it comes the kid with rich parents, bribe the CEO, and get's the job. For me this is enough to quit for real.
for real, so much this. the game has become blatant pay to win. alot of players i talk to speculate that those that play for free and dont buy a single premium tank are given bad match making where they will lose against players with premium tanks who payed money to the game. also other rumours of unmarked bots that use player names to feed the pay to win players
You should trying SPG with drone at warthunder they are great. It slow phase because you are scout and shoot also calculating where should you shoot

Frustrating game biased
So i quit for 4 years and came back recently. The biggest mistake wg made was they made the try hards so much more powerful that the average player. With the complicated spotting mechanics. Invincible turrets, gold spam, bond equipment and now experimental equipment. Its 0 fun to get out spotted, shot, and every shell goes thru from a tank you never see. There are many days i play three battles and ask myself was it fun or not. If its not. Then i log off like most others.

gold spam isnt really a problem imo. I play the game a lot, and there are tanks that need gold ammo to be useful. The alpine tiger for example has 196mm pen as a tier 8 heavy, and it gets 250mm with gold. The italian td line is the only op line in terms of gold ammo, from tier 8 they have 300mm pen, but even that is avoidable with being passive.
it is. any player that pays money or has banked millions of credits are the only ones that can spam gold. New players stand no chance as they will have to save credits for modules and buying higher tier tanks. Tier 7 tanks cost MORE THAN ONE MILLION CREDITS, thats HUNDREDS matches worth of credits you will have to grind at tier 5. Then 2 mill at tier 8 then 3 mill for t9 and SIX MILLION CREDITS FOR A TIER 10. AND THEN after tier 5 is when you start losing credits, it used to be tier 7 is when you started losing credits but they nerfed credit income after adding in boosters so now t5 is the only most profitable tier safe for ofcourse the pay to win t8 premium tanks@@Reeceficek

Their actual amount of REAL people was 3.67 million people globally at a time they were boasting 150+ million players on this game. This actual amount was in their 2013 financial report for the Cyprus Stock Exchange before they got booted out of the Exchange for Questionable Data Reporting and failure to comply with Rules of reporting profits/loss.
Interesting, did they ever face any lawsuits regarding questionable data? Wargaming is known for suspicious biz doings but I got the 1 mil number from 2 different sources. Very cool that you knew more about them!
And not only that, they were not allowed to be an Esport because they had too much RNG LMFAO! Now look at the tanks they just released, they are very clearly cashing out right now.
Sounds like Halo Infinite allegedly having 20 Million players even tho in my eyes that's not the case for me and a handful of other It screams corporate buzzwords tbh.

@@Prehistoeifwarthunder reports the average of 2200 active Battles every minute, since battles are on average 15 minutes, that means there are around 150 battles on each BR in each gamemode, meaning 75 battles every br, meaning around 6 battles in each BR range, that means a new battle begins every 10 seconds wherever you are on average, yet the average wait time is 30 seconds
WOT is visually really great game with enormous potential and criminally dumb business modeling and management...to make things simple it is a virtual casino that makes bank on custommers frustration...sad story really,on the other hand could you imagine where for expl CS GO would be today if they introduced gold rounds,premium guns or targets dissappearing and reappearing in front of you to name just a few obvious BS things they kept on and on throughout the years...

Happy I deinstalled it years ago, played for a year or so and the matchmaking was one of the worst ever. 80% of the time you either were in a team that died in a minute, and you were alone against 8-9 tanks or you were in the good team and your team killed the enemy in a minute and you had to hurry to even get a single shot into an enemy before your team steamrolled everything... Balanced team battles with exciting back and forth fights were a very rare opportunity. I had way over 50% win rate so I wasn`t bad at the game but it just stopped making fun. When matches are either impossible to win because you are in a team full of afk people or bad players or when matches were won by your team in seconds and all you could do is drive straight forward to get anything at all, it stops being fun. Same with the premium ammunition being required to just dent tanks 2 tiers higher than yours...
I've been playing this game since 2012, WG literally destroy this game and made it a pay to edge.
pay to win, yep tons of overpowered premium tanks that are not only have good stats but get good rng on top of it
You can defeat pay2win by shooting gold ammo unllike in War Thunder you can cry.

Not only the game, I hope the devs behind this scam will have to endure the toughest pains.
The reason I stopped playing this game, and a lot of other players I've had communications with, it the amount of cheating games WG puts on the players.
When you have 80%+ of the games rigged so you and your team loses in stupid fashion, why play it?
Nope its not rigged 10year+ player here if u have decent platoon with u,u can easily get 60 65% win rate anyday

Played WoT for a couple years, the same 5 maps over and over again, your teammates constantly insulting each other, tedious grind, and RNG that did everything it possibly could to not damage whatever you were shooting at. Tried to dazzle you with all these events, sales, new tech trees, promises of finally getting your favorite tank and having fun with it for a couple weeks before WarGaming nerfed it. This game felt like an abusive relationship. Left years ago and never looked back.

Warthunders worse
I have played for a while an even though it is painstaking to go up, it is still an amazing game through all the work they have put in it
They have bills to pay, you know. They can’t make something like WoT “for free” lol
Gold ammo was the beginning of the end, balancing armor around gold ammo was the end. Then as they introduced new tank lines and premiums, we saw power creep, where the new tanks were more powerful than the existing tanks. They would always bring the Soviet tanks up to the meta, but everyone else was left out in the cold, especially American tanks. Got so bad that when playing American tanks, even gold ammo didn't have enough penetration to be effective. The casuals then left the game. Once that happened, new players were screwed. As they are starting out and figuring out the game, extremely experienced players would be out there seal clubbing either for lulz or to grind the new, meta tank line. The learning curve became the learning cliff without the casual players there to spread out the skill levels. New players tried then quit in frustration. It just wasn't fun at that point.

It doesnt take but 2 braincells to figure that if you truly wanted to increase playerbase and keep them happy enough to spend in it than you wouldnt be making certain that the game is designed to piss off the user in every way possible.
The Russian market is happy with it, which is all they cared about.
The slow pace was what made it great because there was a real sense of challenge from which you could emerge victorious with some right skill and decision making. Everyone complains about the fast paced games these days because when it’s 2 min into the game and the enemy has 6-0, there’s not much you can do and it feels like you’re set up to lose. Add to that the fact that you might be playing in a slow heavy/td and so you spend those 2 min simply pressing W, just to get farmed by gold spamming mediums who go through your frontal armour like it’s made of paper, and when you try to shoot back you get stunned by an arty clicker and you get an experience called Frustration, not Fun.
The MM with 2 tiers difference is retarded, the new premiums are pay to win, the gold based economy is a ripoff as you can’t buy new tanks with gold, old tanks you grinded for are outmatched… really, it’s a shitshow from a lot of angles.
And why they just don’t add cosmetics for money and tone down on the pay2win is beyond any rational human being.
But yeah, if your main complaint is “the game was slow” you should go play it now.

I dont like playing it anymore, I got to tier 7 and the game just got absolutely unfair, I just dont like getting oneshot by a borrasque every second game.
3 things: 1st They destroyed the Hellcat. I WAS the fastest production Tank/TD in WW2..They Nerfed it and now the TIger 1 (a 51 ton behemoth ) backs up faster than the Hellcat.. OH HELL NO, 2nd The designers of WOT have ZERO concept of artillery in it's actual effect with a direct hit. The M55 American SPG shoots an 8inch shell. THESE are the same shells shot off of destroyers. They weigh 204 lbs. EVEN if they don't pen, with a PD fuse (Standard Point Detonating) a direct hit would destroy the tank. Pictures in WW2 of German tanks hit by 8inch shells show tanks flipped over at times. 3rd WHEN a Jagdtiger bounces a round off the turret of an thinly armored M18 Hellcat at point blank range, there is a SERIOUS issues with dynamics and the RNG. Simply put, the WOT developers have systematically sucked the enjoyment out of the game. I've been playing since 2014.
To me it's the gold ammo, combined with the new HE mechanics.
It's so much fun to play in your heavys that rely on its good armour and then get slapped by gold shell after gold shell :|
At the same time, when you are unable to penetrate a tank, an HE shell just isn't a good option anymore after the rework, which kind of forces you to load the gold...
I'd love to see a game mode without gold ammo.
Or a limit on how many gold shells a tank can carry.
I think the reason for its decline is not the boring gameplay, for me wot is exciting, not fast paced but exciting because of its competitiveness and ability to outplay your opponents. The reason it’s dying is a few reasons. First the game is extremely pay 2 win. Y know that e25 that was removed cause it was broken? 5:28 . Ye well they brought it back and didn’t change it at all because it was a PREMIUM tank and they don’t want their hard paying customers to get mad, thus annoying all the other players, soon they would add more like the horribly OP: BZ176, the skoda and the ts54 for people paying 8 dollars a month.
The next thing is the horrible matchmaking, causing some people to say it’s rigged, although wargaming has the ability to make fair matches they just don’t care, fixing it to them wouldn’t make money (though technically it would because people wouldn’t quit due to unfair matches)
So they didn’t change it, resulting in most games being lost or won before it even started.
The third thing is their greed and the fact that they never listen to their player base or the content creators who play the game, I am writing this while update 1.20.1 is yet to release, it is possibly the worst update yet, WG has angered most of its player base and many content creators are saying that it’s not worth it to play the game unless you are willing to spend tons of money. If the update releases this way the game will truly die.
the game has become total pay to win. artillery drove away many players during early years but these op premium tanks are the nails in the coffin for this company. also mm is rigged, those who pay more win more
there are so many reason this game is dying/is dead here is just a few.
rigged matches, premium ammo, premium/overpowered tanks, rampant hacking, garbage and rigged map design, rigged RNG, soviet bias, anti-new player experience, anti-free to play experience, toxic and hostile community, +2/-2 matchmaker, stock grinds, artillery, power creep, unwarranted and unreasoned chat bans, exploiting people with gambling problems, the list goes on and on
i think wargaming knows their game is dead and wont make it 3 more years so they are just doing the most malicious and predatory things possible to milk as much money as they can, i mean, why would a company PUBLICALY allow cheating in their game and why would you RIG matches against teams and players? its actually unreal how predatory and malicious wargaming is.
while i agree with most of your comment i would like to say that rigged RNG, soviet bias and all those conspiracy theories were, are and will be forever a myth. there is no proof of that, wargaming doesnt rig matches and even if they did, it wont bring them any money. i am still waiting to see an actual benefit for wg to rig its mm, or russian bias, or whatever conspirators say they find
Ive been playing for 11 years. this game blows, they add more and more OP meta tanks and keep the oldies in the dust with no buffs. every american tank has a tumor on top and is an easy kill. game is just trash. not worth it

i do wonder when wt will get to that point but i think biggest thing for them is the grind and the cost of prime at high tier just to help unlock things faster 70$plus for br 11 and that one nation/tree with 6 more out there...
the American tanks aren't that bad if you use them correctly, plus there are tons of f2p tanks that are much better than a lot of the premiums

But to tell ya I don't play wot fest rng game anymore. ii stop playing that like 6 years ago. So if there normal earn tanks i.e. tech tree that are way better choice then a other tier 8 prem that's news's to me.

This was pretty much always a bad game. First it was bad looking, handled awkwardly, was laggy as the tick rate was abysmal, no physics, and HORRID matchmaking. Yet it was making them more money than all their other crappy projects... Still, they neglected it to no end and focused on other projects, only fixing the matchmaker a bit to +-2 and making new premiums and lines from there. It was only after wot, their main milk cow started dying due to how neglected it was, that they FINALLY decided to look into it again - upgraded the tick rate, graphics, maps, physics, and the game came back to life and HARD... So what was the next move? NEGLECT IT AGAIN! Made worse by the graphics overhaul deleting almost ALL the maps! After it started dying the second time around, they woke up once more, FINALLY started doing various fun events, new maps, light 'update' (which was bad imo) made new equipment... And it came back to life again! Really lucky too, most games don't get to revive like that...
I was overjoyed, the game finally started to seem modern and fun, playable... First the disappearing weak spots... But then the really bad shit hit. The early bird was the defender, but it was tolerable. Then bond equipment that took already op unicums to the next level. Then the clown cars... It was STILL tolerable. Then more and more hull down crap, and it was starting to get really bad... But then they finally 'changed' HE and i yeeted the thing out the window and quit. Not only you could no longer do ANYTHING to the hull down monsters driven by unicums by lobbing HE on top of their hull and turret to do 30-200 damage with smaller guns, and no longer could cripple all the wheels on a clown car with it even if it doesn't penetrate... But now all the cardboard tanks that where already challenging to play got a nerf because the tracks, gun, mantlet and other screens could no longer stop or cut HE damage!
It turned from an already 5-4 minute landslide simulator with all the new op crap, into under 3~ minute landslide simulator because you could no longer do that miniscule HE damage to deter the unicums from just sticking out their tower and going to town full dpm without a worry in the world, of course everyone quit! And its become even worst from what i heard now with even more crazy op shit like the BZ176, cobra and other crazy crap coming.
Played for about three months then found War Thunder and never went back! Been playing War Thunder for over four years now!
I spent quite a bit of my time with this game. I played with my friends for maybe 5-6 years, at least. Then we moved to War Thunder and then… life happened. We stopped playing together. We now live in different time zones and even different countries. I don’t own a PC anymore! We still call each other but we don’t really play anymore at this point in our lives. We are in our forties. Maybe its an age thing. I still enjoy videos about World of Tanks but I am disappointed in the overall progress of the game. Its purely cosmetic.
Looks matter, and I appreciate the cool designs from the WoT graphic designers. The skins and overall visuals are amazing! Even though there are issues with gameplay, there's no alternative to WoT. War Thunder has a different style.
They sucked the "fun" out of the game. Nowadays it's premium spamming camping with unbalanced teams and horrible matchmaking. May not be "every" game but sure most of them. And you get nothing for playing either. You used to receive reasonable rewards (e.g. garage slots, gold etc.) on occasions. Weekends were more exp. and the list goes on. They took everything out to monetize and alienated the playerbase.
I love how certain idiots want to use the word 'boomer' but don't have a clue what a boomer is :)
After around 10 hours of gameplay the game got impossible to play. Rambo tanks, fucking around light tanks driving 150kmh on the map shooting around everyone.
No tactics no fun, just a total mess.
Game starts one minute you are dead.
If you are mature enough and you care about your wallet and mental health just walk away from this game.
not changing the 2-tier matchmaking difference, the unrealistic OP premiums added, and Wargaming's shift from "for the players" to "milk as much revenue with what's left of our player base" definitely contributed to the decline.
Today they took tanks out of tech trees, buffed health on tiers 1-6, and many other things in the name of bringing new players, but this only harmed the loyal veteran base.
The decline of WoT brought the rise of Warthunder - it's much more realistic counterpart. I feel like Wargaming should've done a different approach in keeping the game fresh instead of adding a shit load of premiums.

As much as WOWS has its own problems (subs, CVs), it doesn't have GOLD ammo, a big selection of free premium ships, and an actually usable PVE mode (COOP and Operations). Economy is also much fairer. Using a standard Tier 10, with a non premium account, you can break even if do decently and win.

I agree that paid players have a major advantage in game with prem rounds and a few favorable premium tanks like t34-85m being extremely good t6. but you can play the game properly with out paying a dime and the amount of free content in bonuses and events is huge. But I see where you coming from.

Get the same problem at high tier with wt as well and i mean by pay tanks/planes are taking up 80% plus of the total player in a match.
But your point stands true which could be why the number are down with players. Having the non pay or slight paying people just out right quit and your left with wallet warriors.
I can tell you that 90% of the tanks are not premium, there is typically only 1 or 2 on each team, rarely get to 4

I started playing in May 2011. I stopped play competitively in 2020. Clan Wars was awesome which drove the interest in playing the game, but WG decided that killing CW was a smart idea.
I left after 8 years of playing so that speaks for state of that game. WG and their stupid money

You reach level 9 or level 10 tank. Now every game that you play unless you literally obliterate half the enemy team yourself which is usually impossible, you're basically losing credits. In most games that u play well you'll lose credits because shells and repair cost is higher than what u will earn offa playing the game. Dying at the begining sinks you back like 2-3-4 games worth of credits. Essentially you play on a loss. Players were playing on level 4-5-6 tanks to rack up credits so they can then go back to their level 9/10 tanks to play a few games. Its like buying credits by playing on your smurf tanks that are usually heavy large tanks to just go up and rack up damage. Congratz now you know why this good game died a sad death. Greediness. The same death many other good games died for when devs decided they wanted to you to spend real money to play the "free to play game" ^^
It has nothing to do with the pace of the game. The drop is primarily because of rival War Thunder and people not having time to commit. The huge downturn in players was a combination of burnout, toxic community and one of the worst hack/cheat infested games in the history of online gaming. Clan wars, leaderboards and win-rates brought out the cheats like mice to cheese. The best time to be had in this game was Beta-Testing and the first couple of months it was downhill from there.
I tried WarThunder and goodness the grind is just so painful, I rather play WoT.
I last played it at 2018,feels like the game is moving to a bad position for p2w,came back a month ago,really went to that direction. It is so frustrating for free players to play this game now as you can buy a premium tank that put out 700+damage in t8 while you grind to t8 with your tiger 2 to be two show by that thing and you can’t even pen that thing with gold

So, when the military look comes back without santa and other weird characters. When speaking with the enemy team is available . When I don't get restricted from indicating positions on the map. Battles of german vs british or other great matchups come back. When we don't have to spend all our bonds and massive credits on every little thing.
I played a game of WoT today. I was in a Matilda, and I had to fight off an AT 8. The game lasted about five minutes. I doubt I'll ever play again.
If people would focus on messing around and having fun more i think it would be much healthier for everyone (instead on basing fun on how much damage you do). Absolutely the game is far from perfect. If you choose to play it, make the most of it or play something else. Getting to competitive can ruin your experience. It’s just a game guys, enjoy

I really liked the game but over time they have messed with the RNG and MM. It is amazing how many teams I would be on where 1/2 the players would score a single hit. And this could go on for hours and days. Too many bots. The randomness on how well you would do was frustrating. You could have a %500 trained crew, be stationary and not hit a single target continuously.

I spent many hours in WOT, until 2012, when War Thunder started to be a thing, i was impressed by the fact that you dont need to suffer with a bad tank to research the next one in line. Then... never looked back, even arcade WT is far realistic comparing to WOT.

I was a light tanker, played competitively with a 55% win rate. quit once the 1.0 update rolled out. Not enough maps, maps i.loved were overhauled or removed. Forced to spam gold ammo, premium tanks were nerfed, bots introduced to fill up slots and matchmaking was horrid. Loot boxes introduced. Terrible
Unpopular opinion: The game is just bad. It used to be good back in the day, but now that we have warthunder with complex armor schemes and internal modules, the game is hopelessly outdated. Also, they maybe should spend their time trying to improve and balance the game, not make a new gimmicky playmode every few months. What I would suggest is that you do not have to play against a 70's era tank in a 1939 tank. Would be more balanced.

I got on wot blitz and speed ran to tier 9 on lines I've never done before. I had around 300+ games in tanks I didn't know how to play. The people to shit talk me the most were people with 22,000-30,000+ games telling me that I'm a complete idiot.

Wot is the undisputed king of grind. Designed to make you pay if you want top tier.
Calling WoT the king of grind in these times? You can now use three boosts simultaneously on credits, research, and crew at 100%, 50% etc., and two more boosts from clan. Next thing you have missions which will give you mostly 3x, 2x if you make them. Premium account gives you 2x more in every single match. Premium tank gives 2x more in every single match. You have campaign so if you will focus on those you also get reward. Next you have events which gives you 5x on tanks for one win and can discount every tank. You have battlepass to get rewards from it. Next you can discount tanks for credits or research if you own those discounts. Playing special modes rewards you like onslaught. Is it still grindy for you? Getting 5000 research in a single won battle where you didn't do much? Play WoT in 2015, and you'd know what real grind was.

I literally got spotted by a light tank right at the start of the battle and got absolutely obliterated for no good reason. This game is so shit. So over it. Can’t hurt anything two tiers above now. Weak spots aren’t weak spots. Half the teams are premium tanks. Why someone would sink their entire paycheck each week into this game is beyond me. Not penning or missing just because. Getting gangbanged by the entire enemy team surrounding me. Pay 2 anything in this game. I’m DONE. I Hope this game dies so hard. Sunk lots of money over the years. Wasted money. At least In call of duty (garbage game too) I can do something other than just die and do nothing. I’m about to move to war thunder because at least I know if I’m bad at war thunder I am actually bad at war thunder. Don’t even bother angling. they will penetrate your armor regardless. I played WoT for a long time and the whole time was thinking....I wish I could engage at real firing ranges, why does the enemy poof out of existence if I back up 1ft, man I wish a penetrating hit would do massive damage or instant kill. I'm glad War Thunder happened, it has some things I wish were changed but the game play in comparison to WoT is what got me to leave WoT for WT. I have played WT now for a long time, have the top vehicles for US and Russia in Air, Ground and Sea. I started as a Tanker but have move to Air....I mean how can you not want to play an F-16ADF, F-14B or MiG-29. Next patch there is speculation the earl F-15 and Su-27 will be added....with the Saab JAS 39 Gripen C confirmed this year....and Fox 3 missiles like the AIM 120 and R-77 likely to show up with it. To any who have though of trying War Thunder I suggest you do.

coming back to world of tanks from actual shooters makes me love how wot doesn't have a big problem with cheaters in the same way as other multiplayer shooters
WoT still has cheaters despite the anti-cheat efforts. Some providers bypass it, and it's hard to detect cheaters unless reported. Wargaming decides based on reports, but if a cheater plays subtly, it's tough for us players to spot them. Replays are one of the things where you may find out.
Game is RNG cancer. Cool you get rng one time out of 30. But when I watch 3 gold rounds of my Jgpz. E100 bounce off the full broadside of an M48 patton at 150m making a 6k dmg game a 2500dmg game I call BS. Not only does the matchmaker F you, one team as a whole or certain accounts gets better RNG than another at any given time. The definition of rigged.
For me the pay to play just got out of hand. In the early days, you didn't have to use 3 or 4 types of consumables just to be on equal foot with the other team.
For me... I started on Xbox when it first released there and it was super fun playing the unerfed chaffee, but then I played on PC years later and it is an entirely different beast. In the old days I use to think the LOWE was OP, but now in my tiny Tier 6 Cromwell/Sherman facing up a tier 8, rocket propelled, 850 HE spewing OP Chinese tank.
I have played this for many years. This game has gotten better and better over the years. I especially enjoy some of the themed things they do, like the October game and the Xmas theme each year. It is slow paced compared to some of the games that have come out, but it is still great. I tried other similar games, and didn't like them. I am interested to see what the new version will bring.

I’ve been playing since April 2012. I’ve kinda moved away from it the last couple years I’m sorry to say, but the early days of 2-3 trees were absolutely the very best with friends I know I’ll never see again.
I think I still play it because I remember those times. I have moments of joy, but the gold ammo being silver only has absolutely gutted the required armor design for new tanks.

Disgusting community, the General Chat was so horrific (you don't want to know, trust me) and unmoderated that they disabled it, as well as the Forums. A spat of SWATting incidents, harassment, doxing, rl threats, bigotry, intense s-xual discussions, calls for certain groups of people to be beaten and killed (NOT in an ironic way either, don't even go there), and massive spam and flame wars over politics. Started recording and datamining chat logs and such, looking at the number of occurrences of specific words and discussions that went on in the open, and the sheer hatred and the number of people spreading that hate in the open was staggering, way WAY beyond League of Legends or CoD toxicity. Putrid community. Don't care if you've "been in a good clan for [time here]," you are the MAJOR exception to the rule.
Complicated, vague mechanics that new players won't bother to learn, no co-op mode like Console has where people can learn (Story Missions don't count and Topography doesn't teach you anything at all), awful +2/-2 MM (just...don't, you know the vast majority is correct), 4/5-minute games that end 1-15, players with 19,000 matches playing on Tiers 2-4, most historical tanks being relegated to lower tiers, tons of FOMO, time-gated game modes that lots of people only log in to play, nerfing tech tree tanks in order to introduce identical premium versions of the same tanks (this Season, that's what they started doing); little to no historical customizations, laws-of-physics-violating dispersion mechanics, certain arty like lefH, missing a huge amount of tanks that actually existed but also having tons of ones that weren't even blueprints, collabs that make no sense (TMNT, Hotwheels, The Boys, come tf on now), MASSIVE powerceep, etc etc.
I loved the game. Played since 2011. I was the posterchild for the game for a while, skystormer the angry widow tanker. And I'll play it once in a great while until it shuts down, because it's special. But it is NOT good, and going on extremely long hiatuses and barely playing it is the best use of my time I've made in a while.
You cannot have a game like this be as complicated to newcomers (and it is, just stfu) and as dysfunctional as it is, these days and expect it to last very long.
The memories have been nice, and there have been some good times, but the reality is that it's on its way out. May not be next year, or the year after, but it's on palliative care, and tbh?...good riddance.
I still play wot only because of my friend & that's pretty much it. I started to play wot December of 2013 and had a lot of great memories with this game but after ten years & I was once placed in the top 15 on NA as one of the best players. So, me watching this video & being really good at this game, I can firmly state that this video is correct. The game is dying because Wargaming keeps on bringing in op hull down tanks with no weak spots & there are so many other problems with this game now. This game right now is trash... really is. 5+ years ago the game was still fun....ish but I'm quite sad to see this game die.
WoT was rly fun for a while. I got up to tier 10 in both USSR (two tanks actually the object140 and object277) and the UK (Centurion Action X), both the centurions and object 277 are some of my favorite irl tanks as a result. Including the Comet, I loved that thing in WoT, and I love it in WT. But after I transitioned from xbox to PC I lost all my progress pretty much as I needed to make a new acc and I just quit the game. I ain't doing those years of grinding again.
What killed WoT was there came a point when WG decided that with a few tweeks their popular game could become a money-making machine. So they stopped real improvement, and focused on the game manipulating the players into spending money and aggressively attacking any complaints within the community. That's when the player leakage started. The economic pressure pushed players into seal clubbing the newbies, which killed the experience for new players. The leakage became a torrent when actual competitors showed up. Now the only players are the ones ready to quit, the deluded that think the game is great regardless of the facts, the cheaters, and the ever-increasing number of A.I. 'players'. As the player base shrinks, it puts more pressure on WG to squeeze the remaining payer base (pun intended) a little harder...causing more to quit.
For me, being involved in the testing for World of Warplanes was shocking. That it crashed and burned on BOTH iterations was a shock to no one involved. The same things wrong with WoWP WoT had...it was just the WoT was better developed, so it took longer to die.
World of tanks console is the epitome of a play to win game you can grind all you want and they simply released tanks that put all your tanks that you worked hard for and paid money for in premium time to shame the perfect examples are the Weasel TD and then and the new Object 477 TD. between those two they are so overpowered tmare are dominating Cold War error 3 do not waste your time playing this effing game.
ironically, WOT Blitz (mobile version of the game) is so much more fun than the original counterpart. I think they nailed it in terms of the arcade aspect of the game. There’s nothing arcade about WOT but just pure madness.

As a casual Blitz player, two things drove me away. The increasing number of silly tanks, double barrels, ridiculous power-trains that mean they move like something from "Girls und Panzer" and the whole fantasy shtick. Sure, it has it place but not in games with historical tanks, give em their own maps.
The other is the fact that it is increasingly more expensive to progress. I have no issue paying some money, (even developers need to eat! 😝) however it became clear to me that without virtually unlimited funds or the ability to play 27 odd hours a day 9 days a week, you just aren't going to be competitive and your only function would be to feed the whales!

WoT was never about historical accuracy. Obj 430 would be a terrible tank if it followed historical accuracy. You can say that about lots of tanks.

This may sound picky but tbh without premium the grind just to get enough money for a tier 7 can be painful, only for your Tiger I to look ugly as hell because you get the stock turret and you have to grind even more just to make it the actual Tiger I

I've been playing WOT since beta. I can tell usually a great percentage of time with in the first thirty seconds if our team will win or lose based on where they go. Lately I've been playing some battles where there are nothing but bots. I know this because nobody answers or says any thing in the chat.

The losing streaks for most of the players . Who wants to constantly lose while seeing your average stats otherwise go up . Makes no sense . Im a way better player then when i started this game in 2014 and yet im losing almost 10 percent more of my games . I averaged all the winrates of tanks i use to play vs the tanks i play today and got 52 vs 47 most days i have a 30 to 10 percent winrate . I have been losing for the last 15 days straight my winrate is 28 percent over those days . Yet wargaming just sent me ticket saying im in the top 8 percent of the player base .
3500 avg on steam. big doubt it has 100k concurrent players. steam is by far the biggest platform on pc, if steam has 3500 avg there is absolutely no way there are 97000 people playing on other platforms. absolutely no way.
Yea 3500 players are on steam, but World of tanks has had a long standing launcher for their game since 2011. Similar to battlenet is for world of warcraft. The vast majority of players are playing on that separate launcher I mentioned, as well as the console counter-part. Yea steam charts are low, but World of Tanks wasnt released on steam until 2016, nearly 3 years after they broke the world record. Concurrently in SA & NA last month was nearly 40k players, and WoT is more popular in EU and CIS regions. Whether is continues to decrease or stays around the current amount of players, it is significantly more than 3500. Happy you watched the video!
