The "this is soap" promos in Memphis were HEAT. If hall of famers are guys who could sell tickets, draw heat, work their character and maintin kayfabe then Andy's a legit Hall of Famer.
Its not even close- that particular episode of Dark Side was by far the best that season. My favorite part was where they tell how Andy was railing on the mic ringside and Lawler and Jarrett are in the back stressing. Then Andy finishes, swings the door open and asks them: "How was that?" like an excited child seeking approval. Good stuff. Bring back the Thunderfoot gimmick.

Andy was dressed as Tony Clifton and Leno said “Hey, Tony, next time you see Andy, tell him that I saw someone do the same sleazy lounge singer act. Cheap tux, bad singing, rude behavior, the whole nine yards.” Now stealing someone’s act is sacrilegious among comics, so Andy immediately stopped being Tony and said “Who is he? Where did you see him?” He was furious. Then Jay said “Aha! Finally got you to break character, Andy.” The Andy went back to Tony Clifton and said something to the effect of “No, no, I’m not Andy. I was impersonating Andy!”

When former world champions can't get in ..Legendary guys like Brody gets in a 2nd ary wing or stain stasik.

Nope he gets it. The closest thing to Andy Kaufman today would be Sacha Baron Cohen. He wasn't a comedian his claim to fame was weird characters that he would play as real people and the "comedy" would be the reaction of the people to him. Basically what pro wrestlers do but they're better at it so they wouldn't find what he was doing as anything special.
