What is the difference between Raster-Based PDFS and Vector-based PDF

I mentioned Raster-based PDFs recently and there was some confusion about what they were. This movie will explain the difference between vector-based PDF and raster-based PDF.

Hi Jonathan. What would the reason be for using a raster based PDF? Is file size smaller? Seems vector based has all the advantages.

if you give me a vector-based file, i can explode it and change it, or i can use it as an underlay and snap to the points, making it easy to copy your work. The raster file prevents this. there are some fonts that don't PDF well, the raster file gets around this.
