Really appreciate you watching! I was hoping to get better footage of the fish. You'll notice a 2nd gopro clipped onto my truck, that was supposed to have the better footage of the fish. But when I got home and checked out the footage, it was directly at the sun and you could hardly even make out what fish I was holding. Oh well, next time I'll be changing things up so it doesn't happen again.
Hey Jay, thanks for the info on fishing ninth st & aseateague, me & my wife are going to give it a shot when we visit in September. Learned a lot from your videos, you do a great job on showing what to use in certain areas! Thanks again, Jay from Latrobe Pa.
Nice job. Just moved back here and haven’t fished the surf 20+ years. I’d like to get into this for sure. Can you explain a little more about reading the water/white caps? Will the whitecaps and bigger waves be in the same areas as the sandbars? Thanks
Surf fishing is addicting! Between the challenge of it and not knowing what's lurking out in the water....it gets addicting. When the waves crash, that's the very top of the sandbar. If the white water rolls to the beach after the wave breaks, it's shallow. If the wave breaks and the white water disappears, thats where the holes are. Sometimes you'll see a white cap...then a space to the left or right with no white cap...followed by another white cap. Where the space is with no white cap is no sandbar which is a good place to fish. I fish those areas and before/after the sandbars. Some people like to fish the rip currents, I've never had much luck doing it because I feel like they change a lot. If you need any more info, just email me and I can help you out. Yakattack0311@gmail.com
Ive never done any salt water fishing besides a botched charter trip once. I really appreciate you filming some accessible bank fishing on the beach and at the Island!!! So many people only make videos in boats, it makes it really hard for me to try and learn how to fish the beach. I appreciate you a lot🤟🙏❤️
So glad you found my video and it helped! I try to do as much as I can by showing how I do it so others can learn or try it themselves. Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it!
Hey Jay. Behind you is my Wife’s Aunts beach house. My Wife’s Nephew caught a huge Shark there. Awesome view. Keep them coming. Be down to our place this weekend.
That's funny I was just going to say I know that area you are fishing. I recognize it because we worked in a realtor's beach house right there back in 1986 through 93. They've owned the house for a long time. Very nice laid back area.
The Fishing content is my absolute favorite Jay!!! My son and I unfortunately got skunked this past weekend down there...We were at the Coastguard station and he crossed my line with a Gotcha Plug and as I was pulling in to untangle it something about 2 feet long came out of the water after his Plug...couldn't tell what it was but man I wish he could have hooked it!!!
Maaaaan sucks to hear you got skunked. I bet it was a big blue that went after your plug. It's funny that it's always the one that got away that stays on your mind the most!
Great video again. Does this place allow people who don't hold annaul pass? I don't go OC that offen like used to be, any beach spots you recommand for people like us?
The OSV is an annual pass and also a pass to get into the national park. I'd recommend either the Assateague state park or fishing around 140th st in Ocean City.
Sputniks are good. I have some in 8oz's but only use them when I really need to. If I need the 8's I know the current is horrible. 4-6 is usually my go to.
I love Ashley. She's like me. Dressed like it's winter while the boys are in shorts and t's. lol That ocean air is still pretty chilly, even on warm days right now. Looks like you were around midtown in OC. I need a beach fix bad. Do you ever keep and eat the fish you catch? Great video today Jay. Glad you had some success!
Thanks! Ashley is always cold....even 80 degrees she has a sweatshirt on! Haha thr boys and I are the opposite. I do occasionally eat what I catch....flounder, seabass, mahi, tuna and kingfish are the usual ones I'll keep.
I will be going down to Assateague to fish wednesday and thursday this coming week. What size pyramid weights would you recommend? Also what bait would you recommend as well? I plan on parking and walking out to the beach
4oz is usually what I use. In rough conditions I'll go up to a 6oz. Finger mullet seems to be the best from my recent experience and reading some current reports online. Good luck!
Theres 2 different sides to Assateague, the state side and the federal. You can walk on both to fish, you just can't fish in areas where there are lifeguards. I'm not exactly sure where the end is for the lifeguards, but the NPS would be able to tell you.
Hey Jay, where can I fish for sea trout? When I take my wife fishing, we go to 2nd st & ninth st, are these places good for flounder, croakers or spot? But really trying to find sea trout, thanks for any info you can give me, Jay from Latrobe Pa.
I haven't fished for them, but I've heard behind Assateague Island is a good spot. I'm not sure of places from land. 9th St would be your best bet for flounder, croaker and spot. Just cast out and slowly retrieve for flounder. Squid/shrimp/fish bites on high low rigs will catch spot and croaker.
I had a 2nd gopro (you can see it on my truck). That was the camera that was supposed to have the better footage. When I got home to check it out, the glare was so bad you could hardly see what I was holding. Sucks, but oh well. Next time I'll have a different plan in mind.

Yea I will finish Watching it when I get a chance and I have a birthday up this Friday
It’s okay. We’ll be there for the next one.
check 140 street on Google, try to find a good parking spot there, (any good spot?), Then "Temporarily closed" showed up on page

Good job Jay I personally love the surf videos and the 9th street action, Happy to see your channel is growing in sub numbers.
Subber here !
Ken 👍
Thanks Ken! It still amazes me I even passed 1,000 subs. Hopefully I'll be able to get more fishing videos out soon!
Great catch!! 👍🏻
Thank you!!

@@ReelJayB thanks buddy.
Great time to be out there. Nice work!

outstanding....looked like fun.
It has been nice weather here too!
In rough water i use sputnik weights well i take them with me all the time just incase the currents are stronger, just a thought? Larry

Coming there next week any recommendations on bay fishing spots? Thanks
Stay down by the 50 bridge/inlet area. The rest has been quiet. Good luck!
@@ReelJayB 50th street?
@@Bleas128 no, by the route 50 Bridge. The closer to the inlet the better.
@@ReelJayB great thank you!
What's the best bait and lures for the ocean city inlet fishing pier next to the motel
Really depends what your going for. Send me an email and I can try to give you some tips. Yakattack0311@gmail.com
Hey Jay, forgot to ask you about fishing aseateague, can you walk to the beach instead of driving your car to fish? Thanks again, Jay from Latrobe Pa.

Get a ND Filter it could help with not changing your setting and allowing you to get video of ocean. My apologies if you are already doing this.
Think for the fishing video update keep up with good work and I will be back u all in middle of June for the fire truck week
If fishing was easy, we'd call it catching.... Enjoy!
You need a beater plan for handling fish.
Ummmmm wut? I'd say using fish grips and realeasing within 15 seconds is a pretty darn good plan. But....to each their own.
You need to adjust your camera so we can see.
I had a 2nd gopro (you can see it on my truck). That was the camera that was supposed to have the better footage. When I got home to check it out, the glare was so bad you could hardly see what I was holding. Sucks, but oh well. Next time I'll have a different plan in mind.
