I just finished my re-read of Fourth Wing and Iron Flame in preparation for Onyx Storm, but you can bet I will start it back up again just to enjoy it together with you guys. Can't wait for season 2 😍

HOLY CRAP! I haven't even finished the episode yet and HAD to comment on Jon's rewrite! That was sooo good! I'm fully accepting this rewrite now 😂 I will 100% be tuning in for his next ones! 👌

Just touching on the low vs high fantasy discussion: totally agree with Kyle that the amount of lore in the TOG books is much less than series like LOTR. However low fantasy and high fantasy refer to where the story takes place, ie low fantasy is magical/fantastical events happening in an otherwise normal world (for example, The Shadowhunter Chronicles or arguably Harry Potter). High fantasy takes place in a completely made up world. There’s more to it than that but that’s a general overview
I have absolutely loved every episode of this series❤ I will start my reread of the Empyrean series next week in preparation of Onyx Storm so I cant waaait to see all Jons and Kyles theories and Cons and Laurens pokerfaces!!! It cant be the 21st soon enough - Have fun reading everyone 🥰

This podcast has been so much fun to listen to for TOG. I've read TOG before, so it was super fun to be in the know and watch Lauren and Kyle react throughout. I've never read Fourth Wing, so this will be a first for me. Looking forward to the 22nd and hearing all the banter to come!
If you guys haven't read The Mortal Instruments series you should really check it out. Cassandra Clare is another author that puts little nuggets of info all through out her books.
