  • This video is for tightening the stem or vertical pole of the #zero10x but if your stem is too tight, here’s the video to loosen it up: • Improve your steering ...
    This simple 10 min tutorial teaches you how to tighten up the vertical stem/pole on the ZERO 10X e-scooter. The whole process takes about half an hour. The tools you will need are:
    1. 5mm allen key
    2. 3mm Allen key
    3. 2mm alley key
    4. mallet
    If your dual quick release clamps on the ZERO 10X are tightened to the max and you still find your vertical pole kind of loose and/or shaky, this is how we can reduce the shakiness. Of course, there are parts that could have been worn out such as the quick release clamps, but this is assuming the unit is more or less brand new and nothing has been worn out yet.
    If the shaky stem issue still occurs, then you will need the rugged clamp with shim. www.falconpev....

    I bought the 10x, love it, so much fun. Only drawback was the movement and squeaking in the vertical bar. I ordered the upgraded stem coupling. Problem solved. Handlebars are now stiff and very minimal squeaking. Feels much better, highly recommend.

    This stem simply needs the lowest 15mm section to be 35mm long and a clamp that is double the height like around 70 mm with 3 quick release. A cnc lathe could easily make a slide on extension that raises the total height of handlebars only 30mm ! If anybody want to discuss this further let me know and i will explain it and draw it up for them to route one out and we can try it out and get it a simple perfect design ! 👍🏻

  • @rickdeckard9810
    @rickdeckard9810 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    This doesn’t seem like a long term solution, seems you need to do this repeatedly perhaps the stem needs a more sturdy robust design, the way it attaches allows for very little play and will only wear the metal down with time.

    now i know how to loosen the vertical stem to free tension, then install steering damper, just like motorcycle. steering damper is the correct way to add resistance, not tighten the vertical stem, vertical stem too tight will just result of wearing down the bearing and bearing race much quicker, then you will have a loose steering again.

    Hello, how do you tighten the Zero 11x on the steering wheel bearing?

  • @jordiluqueca
    @jordiluqueca 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My Zero 8x (recently purchased) have some resistance points or 'notches' when moving steering. One when wheel is centered, and others at several (left and right) angles. Some say this is normal, because it helps to dismiss wobble, so its by design.
    But others say steering should move smooth with no notches points...so I don't know if my steering is right or not :( Anyone could help please? Thanks for your videos!

    • @FalconpevSg
      @FalconpevSg  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The notches will smooth out after a while. It is basically tightened by the factory to ensure that your steering isn’t overly loose. If you want to tune it up you can follow this video here th-cam.com/video/QvMgzn84CR4/w-d-xo.html

    My headset was delivered too tight where you can’t steer. Everything is too tight including set screws that broke my hex wrench and the gear ring that won’t budge when trying to loosen. The screws just bend. I’ll have to buy a pipe wrench I guess. Very frustrating to have to do all this before I can even ride my $2000 scooter for the first time.

      I’ll get it working. My fault as the seller put it together when they delivered and I test rode it in parking lot. I mentioned that steering was too tight, but they said it would loosen up on its own. I should have insisted they fix it. It’s so tight that it sticks and makes it hard to even balance due to it sticking. I see now after disassembling that it’s VERY tight. I think the factory workers are getting over zealous with tightening the head. Must have been issues in the past with being too loose and they’re over compensating.

    • @nswenson520
      @nswenson520 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      All fixed. I recommend that you do NOT use the bolts to tighten the head. Better to get a channel lock pliers if you have the gear. The bolts are M4 and bend very easily.

    • @FalconpevSg

I payed £378 for a 48v 20AH, but is looking to buy a spare as well, do you sell them? If so are they cheaper than the one I bought for £378, also is zero going to bring out any new models soon, I am going to up-grade soon as I only got a 1600w an I want more power now, I will be up rating the motor on it as I bought it as a project scooter anyways, but I am torn between this 10x or a kaboo warrior, there is no where I can test ride them in the UK, not that know of anyways, a big downfall in the UK with these scooters is our government is not embracing this form of transport like every other country on this planet, all the UK government cares about is brexshit, meant to be 3 points an £300 fine for riding these scooters, lol, I have passed police a few times with no issues, mind you I got helmet on go pro an I am not joy riding the pavements up, it is not the scooter that creates injuries if it bought from an established company that is trust worthy like you lot at Falcon, not like dualped guy, lol, It is the person riding the scooter that causes accidents, wear protective gear an ride sensibly then what is the problem, are they going to ban cars because people crash them, the UK needs to embrace this form of transport, far too many cars on the roads anyways, think of the younger children who got to breath in the carcinogens if not the planet, electric personal transport is the future......................
