none in the video worked (didn't try resetting and this happened in the past and updating OS fixed it, but it returned after a few weeks): but I did something that worked. I opened the portrait mode (weird that portrait mode didn't have the focus problem), played with it for a minute and when I returned to normal photo, the focus problem was fixed. using iphone XS.
Nvm the screws are just stuck to the camera because for some reason it’s magnetic just take apart your phone and remove the screws if they’re missing I wouldn’t even bother putting them back in

Tried the tapping with hand method no joy....I just took my indoor shoe off and using the rubber sole beat the crap out of the side of the phone in the corner the camera is and it's now working perfectly. Guessing sometimes tapping with your hand just isn't enough.
Practically new iPhone 7 (less than a year old) & the camera sucks! Most video is ether out of focus or the brightness fluctuates randomly in certan light. Also tired of it always focusing on faces instead of a whole person & having no way to turn this off in settings. Apple, please get the stick out of your ass & fix this shitty camera. This camera & the app to control it is a complete & disgraceful mess.
100% USELESS: No, you can't overcharge a battery. This is why there is a power management circuit for that. There is NO correlation between length of time phone is on versus overheating, total nonsense. Also, tapping your phone is ridiculous, as you that only indicates a defective piece of hardware. Restarting the iphone is not an option, even though this is the ONLY thing that fixes this issue. And your suggestion that a SW update "fixes all bugs"? Really? You really are one of blind faith and hearsay.
None of these worked right guys? Just try to press the camera icon from the back of your phone instead of pressing the case. It really works believe me.
