Virtually nobody in Kelseyville or anywhere else could tell you anything about Andrew Kelsey. To them, the name "Kelseyville" represents a place, not a person. A place where people were born, lived, raised families, died. It seems a little unfair to strip them of their identity when they did nothing wrong to Native Americans. Frankly, I think Konocti is a cooler name, but there is local history tied to Kelseyville, and it should be respected too. A preponderance of city names around the world, not just in America, are named after persons who were often fairly nasty human beings. That doesn't mean anyone is honoring them.
Honestly, i have mixed feelings. Its not like we look up to him, (well at least most of us dont) but should it really be our choice? I think it should be up to the natives ya know?
It makes no sense (unless you are WOKE) to name this town after the Indians who had nothing to do with the creation of this special town. Better idea would be to build a memorial park to honor those who used to live there. Californians are fed up with name changes to suit activists desires. Removing the beautiful statue of Columbus from the Capitol is a prime example of this insanity. Now they are going after John Sutter. I am surprised they are not calling for the removal of the missions and changing the State flag to an eagle holding a snake..
My little home town ❤

Is it a name change or a land grab. Lake county has far bigger problems like the polluted lake and the rampant meth problem?
Should call it Spookyville with all the skeletons hanging around 4:06 & 4:11 💀
This was filmed just before Halloween.
Kon oc ti, not Kon oc te.
Thanks!
I see another casino in the making. Lol

Nothing wrong to have morals for the natives. Or being "woke" 😛
