- Dams have a wide array of uses, all of which are incredibly important. Some help to prevent flooding while others work hard to provide electricity to entire counties and cities. No two are quite the same, but every dam in the world needs constant upkeep and maintenance because if things go south it can end in disaster. From cracks forming in the wall to displacing tens of thousands of locals, things can get a little hairy if we’re not careful. So join us for today’s video, where we count down the 15 most dangerous dams in the world!

I am not a fan of earthen dams, much prefer concrete. The one in Puerto Rico is really endemic with the island. The government never invests in infrastructure which is apparent every time a hurricane arrives. Power lines should be underground and these reservoirs should have concrete gravity dams built in place of earthen ones. And don't blame Washington DC, because the local government is full of graft.
