When I dreamed about hearing Schuldiner's songs performed with the orchestra, I also thought about S&M! This thought arose during the development of the DeathOrchestra, when we were working on the overall look, concept and sound. There are no other examples especially in the history of music. It was necessary to focus on something. By the way, S&M2 turned out to be even more interesting and experimental than the first one. We wanted to do something equally unique and incredible - I hope we succeeded at least a little!)

Huge upvote to the sound engineers who worked on this. It sounds really clean and luscious. Everyone is playing their asses off, and its great that you can hear them all.

@Themgoroth616 yes this is a "simple" fill - the original that Richard does is full of "off grid" notes and sounds like an amorphous entity ... the only thing that sounds straight are the 2 snare hits.
This nearly brought a tear to my eye. Nothing short of incredible. This is by far the best orchestral read of metal ever done. That includes Metallica and Nightwish.
@DeathOrchestra - My Late 90’s and Early 2000’s went listening to Death all day. It had been a while I was getting distant with heavy Metal. Death was and always will be my all time favorite Musical piece. @DeathOrchestra - Thank you so much for Re-igniting the flames again.
I JUST came upon this and about halfway through started welling up a bit. This is INCREDIBLY moving and beautiful. I love the dedication here and expression of Chuck's incredible music and message. SPECIFICALLY with the INCREDIBLY tight playing of the instruments, you've REALLY outdone yourselves here. I can only look forward to hearing more and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this.
What a moment for such a beautiful and uplifting masterpiece of a song. This cover alone was the single best thing that happened this year. Thanks all of you, and Chuck of course.

This made my day, Death is one of the core bands of my youth and to hear it brought together with an orchestra was really a stroke of brilliance. Keep on bringing the brutality!
👏👏👏👏👏👏 tremendo y emocionante tributo a DEATH , con estas obras Chuck sigue con nosotros y su leyenda crece aun mas, espero algún día poder verlos en vivo 🇨🇱👍

This is putting Chuck Schuldiner right up there with Beethoven and Mozart as far as musical brilliance is concerned! RIP Chuck. What a wonderful tribute!
Chuck is smiling from beyond the grave.
Beyond the unholy grave*
he is smiling and screaming along
and Banging!
He is loving this shit
he would've loved this
who ever is on drums, mad respect.
Death is not what you would call beginner material
"death the destroyer of drum sticks"
Particularly on this album, Richard Christy is a beast!
This album is unplayable. Period
Have you heard of ULCERATE?
This playing is insanely good!
Don't let Schuldiner's legacy die!
Greetings from Brazil!
Greetings from Canada \m/
Also from Canada. His legacy will never die.
From Brazil again!
привет из родного Питера, ребята. шикарно играете, жду от вас новых каверов!
From Italy! 👍
So amazing. Can you imagine if Death had done a full-blown performance with an orchestra like Metallica did with S&M?

This sounded a universe better than S&M!
This shit was not invented by Metallica. Like most great things, it is a German invention, by Rage and the Lingua Mortis orchestra (1996).

Dante Báez dude I saw a guy in the brass section going all out too lol it was great
I won't lie, this had me legitimate tears at one point, props to everyone being amazing musicians.
Combining the two of not only genres, but cultures. The second solo was so beautiful I almost cried.
Mad props to whoever mixed this down to a recording. Incredibly balanced and full sounding - unlike many live performance recordings
