- Gibbous- A Cthulhu Adventure is a tongue-in-cheek point and click adventure game in development that takes a lighthearted look at the Cthulhu mythos and the adventure game genre in general. Traditionally animated and with 2D painted backgrounds as well as comprehensive voice acting it seeks to hark back to the days of classic adventure games made by LucasArts and similar companies. The main character Buzz has ended up with the Necromonicon against his wishes and on top of that has accidentally cursed his pet, the result being it can now talk. Neither find this situation agreeable and so they set out to remove the curse on Buzz's cat and try to get the dreaded tome to the person who was searching for it in the first place. Now, if only he hadn't been kidnapped...
We may not have a direct solution to our problem but we've been pointed in the direction of someone who might have one. The only problem is we've no idea where they are specifically and the general place they are we've no access to currently unless we decide to go a side quest to help someone out who can get us there. And where there are side quests there's another staple of adventure games...
From what I've seen of the demo I'm rather impressed. For such a small group of people there's a lot of love and effort that's gone into the demo alone and the game most certainly shows promise for me. The issues with the frame rate and spelling will most likely be solved as development continues and the sheer amount of dialogue (over 700 lines for Buzz in the demo alone as I've stated in the video) is exceptional. The atmosphere is dark and yet lighthearted and I think the comedy is zany while also keeping that mythos vibe that keeps it true to the setting. I'll most certainly be backing it myself and now that you've seen the demo you'll be able to make your minds up on if you want to as well, downloading the demo to see what dialogue choices I didn't go for in these videos and get a more direct feel for what the game is like.
So, what's next? Will we see Gibbous - A Cthulhu Adventure on the channel at some point when it's hopefully completed? I hope so, it looks like something right up my street and if it keeps the same high standard of quality the demo has I won't be disappointed.

Honestly, I don't think uncursing Kitteh is going to change much. Personality wise. She'll still be a cat...
OMG I SOOOOO want kiko to play the game when it is complete. People HAVE to donate to it and make the game a reality!!!! This was one of the better demos of any game I've seen!!!

Well it is out on steam, has been for 3? years, here is to hoping to Kiko plays this at some point.
If Kitteh doesn't end up the hero (or villain) and boot Buzz out of the protagonist spot I will be very sad. I mean, he's cool and all, but KITTEH.
More seriously, this looks like a really good game and I'm really looking forward to the finished product.

Kitteh is awesome. I knew I'd love her character the instant she opened her mouth to speak the first time. Have to wait for the full version but she might be the one to finally bump Murray the skull out of his position as my favorite graphic adventure supporting character B-)
Love how the bottom of the title screen says, " No actual legal information here. Just a bunch of text to make this thing look more legit. Also fills this space on the bottom nicely."
I wonder if we'll be seeing an LP of the full game from you once it's been completed and released? I sure hope we've not seen the last of the adventures of Buzz and Kitteh from you!

watched episode one. downloaded the demo myself. played it. watched the rest of your videos. totally love the game. i hope it's going to get made and that you play it as soon as its finished.
its especialie funny since i'm reading a lot of lovecraft lately (finished about a quarter or maybe two thirds of his work and i can see why you like it as much as you do)

Honestly, this game seems kind of cringey. It's trying to cram as many jokes, references, and fourth-wall-breaks as it possibly can into everything, and none of them are particularly good enough or absurd enough to make that level of saturation work. They needed to go for either more absurdity or less. The cat is definitely the best part, but the name "Kitteh" is absolutely moronic.
