Can I be an animator with an industrial engineering degree like i want a career i can be creative in and also smart. I would also like to creat toys phone cases, phones, like arts and crafts things but also l would like if the career has maths in it.I would to create things. Is industrial engineering a creative career or not. What is the difference between industrial engineering and industrial design.

Hi, Naledi Lephoto, Industrial engineering can help you achieve what you want to do by applying creativity to new products, but from my point of view the Industrial Design career would be more successful for what you want to do.
The difference between both careers is very similar to what is the Architecture and Civil Engineering career.
The architect expresses his ideas his designs for his constructions but these designs must always be approved by a Civil Engineer who verifies the calculations and determines if according to the laws of Physics, it is possible to build the architect's design or if to achieve it they must make modifications since otherwise the construction would collapse.
In Industrial Design you capture your designs of the products you want to manufacture and an Industrial Engineer will verify your design and according to the use that your product will have, determine if the manufacture is viable to support the use to which the product is going to be subjected or if it should be modified the design to support the use that is going to give.
practically that is the difference between one career and another. I hope you have clarified your doubt a bit.

Hi, yes you certainly can with IE! However, if you want to be creative, industrial design is the way to go.
There is engineering design in the IE curriculum but not nearly a much as you would find in industrial design. If you want to see more about what IE entails follow my Instagram @aubripvideos.

Hi, yes they can! It all depends on what path you choose to follow. You can end up in design if you demonstrate the skills needed for that field. (I.e. proficient in autocad, engineering design, etc)

Hi Cyn City, I like to share some of my experiences, INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING
It is a career with a very wide range of opportunities, the motto of every industrial engineer is ¨Everything can be improved¨, the main function of the industrial engineer is to optimize the processes within any organization, be it the production of goods or services, an Industrial engineer can be developed within any organization be it extraction, agriculture, tourism, hotel, health services, aeronautical restaurant, etc.
On many occasions, companies have no idea that to solve their problems and optimize their profits, what they need is an industrial engineer to solve their situation. Another thing that I love about this career is that in the workplace it is never boring since every day you face different situations and there is always something that needs to be improved.
I hope help my point of view of Industrial Engineering.
