I think it sounds like something dark happened in source and hybe/bighit..
Gfriend concept is really changed after when the 2 company worked together mostly after when bighit brought Source Music..
Also they said they had a comeback at June, and now they suddenly had to disbanded..
Also source trademarked gfriend english name so they couldnt use it in the future..
(they already trademarked korean name)..
I just has a conjecture the companies want to do with this girls something in the comeback clip and concept (maybe showing much more..
The girls said many times they like more the innocent concept and they are shy and affraid to tell their parents how gfriend will change) and the girls had already enough stress..
Gfriend already has good sales without sexy/erotic concept but bighit really want to do this and forced them (in a interview the girls said the bighit CEO "encouraged" them well to show more..
Also SourceMusic CEO always said gfriend is not that group who do sexy concept..
and in this last 2 years after bighit acquired SourceMusic gfriend showed a lot of more even if they didnt want to..
And they keep saying on those letters that they want to have a Better image in the future..
I think that could be one of the reason why Gfriend didnt want to renew their contract..
thats makes sense, i also think that is one of their reason, thats why they said they would be better and free in the future, so guess they didnt have a voice or opinion on everything that happened on the last 2 years

i know right, its just an assumption, i read some comment who talked about it and add my own opinion, i think there is a high chance that it is true, maybe this is one of their reason for not renew their contract, beside they overworked, and they must be filming on their free time (in their dorm)..
Hopefully I still think the girls loved Apple and Mago - not all of them but it was part of the growth. I have nothing against the song - they are all good nothing to say. What irritated me is the management. Hybe gave them the pressure to become as famous as twice or blackpink (hence why maybe Eunha became suddenly a cry baby during crossroad and Yuju also crying in the radio) SouMu stopped backing them and when american company merged Girls have no control anymore. I bet Hybe board of directors rushed gfriend end because they wanted to cover it with BTS comeback (so that share price dont suffer that much)
Of course I am mad at SouMu but since Yerin thanked the latter and all employees left with them I think the true villain is Hybe.
Gfriend didnt have the proper end they deserved.
Idk if this are true but... I have seen some news that it's because of a new girl group like they wanted to make a room for them. Though those new gg shouldn't be really dragged along with this. Idk if this is a bad thing to say but... i just hope gfriend's company kinda didn't collaborated with big hit. They are more free under soumu. They didn't even past the 7 years. I always had this doubt when i heard that they are under big hit already. And heck i was right. Cause it always seems shady and all of a sudden to me. I thought they'd be able to continue but i was so disappointed. And it's only been a year or so under the bighit label. Though when they're on big hit their concept really changed a lot.
With a very, very heavy heart I will accept the fact that the only group I stan has disbanded. I will still watch your videos and support each of you in your new journey. Gfriend is the one who introduced me and made me try to listen to kpop..
and theyre the Only group that i stan..
kpop would never be the same without them..
I would listen to kpop again If they come back to industry, became a group, singer, actrees etc, I would support them and cheers for them..

they are the reason i started listen to kpop in the first place, the only one id love to listen.. and now its happens so suddenly, no one could believe this, the news happens few hour after normal vlive..
it left me heartbroken ....they are the group i stan i will miss them so much but i will always support them in whatever they do in future ...i know only one thing these girls are so talented their talent must got go waste ...i want them to perform more choose the field they want to and shine in that field ....and most importantly stay together....and love each other as they always do ...
