    Not only are these three boxes interchangeable to build unique models, but the many Frostgrave plastic boxes' parts can be used also. The Soldiers II and WizardsII boxes will provide many female heads to use.

    • @popburnsy3207
      @popburnsy3207 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought a kit of Wizards II to use bodies and heads, in part because I don't expect the Stargrave female bodies to have dresses. And also because the bodies don't have any fur/winter looking gear like the Frostgrave Soldier II bodies does.
      I'm really looking forward to seeing what Stargrave does with their females in the Crew 2 and Mercenaries 2 kits.

    As was said below, Stargrave is cross-compatible with Frostgrave. That should give you a wide variety of options. Actually, it wouldn't surprise me if their Oathmark figures could be roped in as well, giving us an even larger pool of bits to customize our forces.
    And Joseph McCullough, the author has written some great games. Frostgrave and Rangers of Shadowdeep are great fantasy skirmish games, but Oathmark, his rank and flank fantasy mass battle game, a la Warhammer Fantasy, is my favorite.

    • @Joooooooooe11
      @Joooooooooe11 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can confirm that the oathmark kits are compatible scale-wise with all the frostgrave/stargrave kits. I have a lot of oathmark miniatures and bits mixed in with a few of my Frostgrave warbands. That's one of my favorite things about North Star plastics. The cross compatibility makes for basically endless customization and some really cool combos. Just slapped some stargrave arms on some frostgrave cultist bodies for some real sinister and spooku looking space pirates.

  • @Wojti2000Zapasowe
    @Wojti2000Zapasowe 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I honestly really like the miniatures; they have this cool retro 70's-90's sci-fi vibe to them which I love, but seeing most people dislike them really made me feel guilty for liking them. I really wanna buy them, as I am a huge fan of old sci-fi stuff.

  • @Joooooooooe11
    @Joooooooooe11 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Something to keep in mind about gender variety in their kits: North Star typically likes to release both male and female counterpart sets (their frostgrave soldiers and wizards kits come in both male and female kits which are all excellent). I saw something on the Stargrave facebook page where North Star said that they are most likely going to do all female versions of the crew and mercenary kits like how they did with their frostgrave models, but elected to not do that with the trooper sprue and instead included a few female heads in the sprue as aside from the head (when unhelmeted at least), with all the armor and bulky kit of the heavier armor there wouldn't really be any noticeable physiological differences, so if you are wanting more girls in your crew outside of the few female heads in the troopers box, plastic kits will come out for a lot more eventually. There are also lots of female characters in metal that they sell for specific captain and first mate types. I love North Star plastics. They are awesome and have so much variety for kitbashing and tons of customization.

    There are going to be two female kits, apparently. If you look at Frostgrave you can see how they might do it. So it might be a box of 20, or a box of 10 with tons of bits. Northstar probably has the most female plastic soldiers out there. Also, all of their kits cross over so you can use the Frostgrave female heads on all of these.

    With Killteam '21 doing away with everything I have for Killteam '18... Stargrave has become my SF skirmish game of choice for now. The 'grave series (Frost or Star) certainly scratch those skirmish game itches to replace OOP games like Mordheim and Killteam '18 these days. Great review. Thos miniatures from North Star are certainly a fantastic value and quite flexible (species wise...).
