WARNING: Once you go to Phaaze, you won't be able to go back or save the game so save the game and be prepared to enter the final dungeon.
With that being said, the Galactic Federation and Samus take the fight to the main source of all Phazon... Corruption is abound.
...I'm getting Star Fox: Assault vibes.
Key Notes:
- All of the Energy Tanks will go away, replacing your health bar with an empty one that will slowly but gradually fill out. Once it fills out, you die.
- The bar can fill out faster if you get attacked by the monsters in the planet, though it can be pushed back if you gather Phazon units. Unfortunately, the rate which you get those might be low at times. Also, shooting wildly doesn't do anything this time around.
- IMPORTANT: There are seven native scans in this planet. Five outside the boss battle which has two. You have to find these five first:
1) Phazon Door
2) Black Phazon Crystals
3) Phazon Puffer (IMPORTANT: This guy is awesome because it will drain a lot of your accumulate Phazon from the bar...though you have to kill it quickly.)
4) Tangle Weed
5) Leviathan Infant (Near the end.)

I love that Samus can come and go as she pleases on the space pirate home world.

I always thought Phaaze was way too short of a level
All Metroid final levels are very short. Actually, Phaaze is surprisingly longer than most final Metroid levels, despite the corruption threat limit.
A wonderfully weird level though, classic
I mean yeah it is but the planet literally creates radioactive goop that is super hazardous and in the atmosphere. Samus was on a time limit. She couldn't stay there long since she would be corrupted quickly overtime. It makes sense why it's short. At the same time it's actually long for an area you can't even save in.

The ped suit absorbs phazon and since the planet is made of it, the suit absorbs wayyy too much

You can’t, not until you reach the boss which is a checkpoint and if you die before reaching the boss you return back to the last time you saved your game

Never noticed her eyes changed on Phaaze. Gotta give them credit to small details they put in.
Her eyes change throughout the entire game.
And you get a quick peek when she activates permanent Hypermode.
And since you can also see her with a large vein on her face earlier on..It’s probably for the best we only see her eyes.
Who knows why Phaaze has doors
I speculate Dark Samus wanted to give Samus a test in her way to the core.

Since your permanently in hyper mode your could pretty much spam hyperbeam as much as you want and your other weapons as well but if the yellow gauge fills up it’s game over.
When they finally come out of the wormhole and the pirate theme kicks in for the space battle was a critical moment in my childhood. That set me up to be addicted to stuff like that for the rest of my life
if only smash ultimate had the 100% corruption color scheme.... it wouldve looked so dope

I heard that the Ing in Echoes were originally Phaz-Ing that we're on the Leviathan that crashed into Dark Aether, and that they we're altered by Dark Aethers Atmosphere, changing from beings of Phazon to beings of Darkness.

The thing samus has in her is called the mark of corruption and it only affects sentient organisms.
Phazon is a substance that naturally attacks organic material. Not Metal.
I did not expect phaaze to be that long of a final level since most metroid final levels are short especially the leviathan part that was pain until I realized the x-ray visor existed and I had to shoot with the xray visor I feel so dumb
Phaaze is a long distance travel even for Chozo space flight

I love this part of the game so much. This (and the rest of the game) basically explains all the cryptic Chico lore in prime 1. And considering all the cryptic Luminoth lore from prime 2 basically echoes (no pun intended) prime 1 as well as the other lore in this game, you realize that this planet is the source of it all. But what I want to wonder, is what’s the origin to Phaaze?
I think it is better if it remains a mystery, just knowing there was a sentient planet in the middle of nowhere infecting other planets and no one knows when or how it appeared is enough to make a terrifying concept. That is cosmic horror done right.
This shit is intense.
Hope they HD Remaster this game next.

Be careful, Samus. Once you rendezvous with Dane and assault Phaaze, you won't be heading back. Not only is there likely to be a Pirate armada to face the fleet, and a chance Dark Samus might interfere with the Leviathan... as soon as you set foot on the planet, she's likely going to try and overload your PED, sending you into a permanent Hypermode and then turning you into her. For this reason, *I would stock up on Energy Tanks and fill them up, to delay terminal corruption after the emergency vent.* You'll only get one E-vent, so if you go terminal from exposure and damage, it's over.
