Over the past decade, all 32 NFL teams have been haunted by at least that one draft pick that felt like a genius move at the time. But the player they ultimately though would turn out to be a superstar never wound up coming close to reaching the hype.
Before we start, we want to clarify that this isn’t a list about every team’s biggest draft bust since 2013. The video is focused on players who entered the NFL with through-the-roof hype only to perform below expectations.

Video Idea: Most overrated year ever for every NFL team
Sadly my cowboys will be frequent on this list
Buffalo Bills 2022
@@kevinlb101 year for every team
Would be boring to watch🥱 Only the cowgirls would be on the video
As a bears fan I can say ours was 2008 fs. Our offense had ABSOLUTELY NO BUSINESS trying to out gun Peyton Manning and the colts. Our defense and Devin Hester carried us all year.
For Carolina Panthers yall shoulda said Kelvin Beijamin.
Agreed. DBrown is actually insanely good, as show last year. He’s a top 10 DT and is a monster on the line. Him, Burns and Luvu are a scary Trio
@@fetty_fgc Hell Yeah! He anit KK Short but, hes grown and Matt Drule held him and the team back.
@@The4Bryce4 Word for Word
Facts I live in charlotte every time you’d see Kelvin Benjamin he was out eating lol wasn’t surprised when he showed up to camp fat
Facts
Rest in peace Dwayne Haskins🙏🏽
I forgot he died. That was really sad and still is. 🙏
@@LukemanO8,you ain't lying bro
Does the dump truck get a sack?
I would have said Zach Wilson over Sam Darnold for the Jets, at least Darnold draws enough interest from other teams to stay in the league. Once Wilson is done with the Jets, he'll be out of the league.
Agree 100%. Also at least Darnold could occasionally surprise you and have a good a game every now and then. Find me one game where Zach has played anywhere near as good as Darnold did against the Packers in 2018 or the Cowboys in 2019?
@@ErikCB912wilson only had 1 good game I believe it was week 17 of his rookie season I forgot the team
@@kingtoss7690 oh yeah I think that was against the bucs. Yes he was decent in that game, but still nothing special. He only went 19 of 33 for 234 yards and 1TD. Not terrible, but not a standout performance either
Darnold was more hyped than Zach.
@@edwardellis3038 maybe so, but still Darnold was better in college than Zach was. Zach was highly overrated because he had one good year when he played a weak schedule due to COVID. Also he was picked second while darnold was picked third
Bears should’ve been Kevin White. As a Bears fan I was super hyped to see him play. Where as with Trubisky I was upset that we traded up for him and that we drafted him in the first place.
It’s the fact that yal missed out on mahomes is enough for him to be on this list lol
i did some research and the bears traded: 3rd overall pick, a 3rd rounder that year (alvin karma), a 4th rounder that year, and a 3rd rounder next year (fred warner). not to mention the fact they passed on patrick mahomes and desaun watson. so the bears traded mitch for: patrick, fred warner, and alvin karma.
@@YxnginJesusLovesU that’s the thing tho. It isn’t biggest bust or biggest draft mistake. It’s overhyped player and nobody was hyped Ab us trading up to draft Trubisky
And we expected trubisky to be bad, we so amped for white
Jameis Winston wasn't overhyped,Lovie getting fired really set him back. Him having 3 coaches in 5 seasons didn't help
yeah Mr. 30 for 30 wasn't overhyped remind me how many games, playoff games, mvps, pro bowls he earned? and how many times was he injured? also what was the excuse with the Saint he had stacked teams with good lines, running game, defense, and receiving core? and you can't say no other QB succeeded there because Drew Brees
@@Zayy13 drew Brees had great teams and still had below average years, try again. Jameis Winston underperformed but he definitely wasn't helped by the coaching carousel. Why are you trying so hard? Count how many coaches Drew Brees had in his career. Now count the number of coaches Jameis Winston had just in Tampa Bay. Tell me how those numbers match, please be detailed
@@rodharper6112 no he didn't he was screwed out in the playoffs and he still performed way better than WINSUCK
Bruce Arians didn’t want to keep Jameis. If the QB whisperer says he’s unfixable that says it all. Jameis never dropped his gunslinger mentality
Yeah he was.
What about Leon Sandcastle? He had his own commercial but never played a single down!
Damn I remember him, don’t think he even got drafted
The fact that Derrick Brown is on here just shows you how good our homegrown players are.
For the Panthers it should have been Kelvin Benjamin
For the Eagles, it definitely should have been Derek Barnett. He was hyped up so much for breaking Reggie Whites sack record in college. Reagor was a projected 2nd-3rd round pick. We just reached.
Came to say this. Reagor wasn’t hyped at all. When I saw Ceedee go to Dallas I just thought we’d not use a top pick WR, and reagor not only wasn’t on my radar but no one seemed to like him from college a ton.
I'm still holding a candle for Derek Barnett 🕯️😢
There is not a chance you put Brown on here for the panthers. That dude was one of the best DT in football last year and will be top 5 this year and arguably was last year
Zip it up when you’re done, he’s top 10-15 not close to 5
Would Vernon Butler qualify as overhyped? I know he was terrible.
hes great against the run but terrible in the pass rush. 1 sack last year
Matt Rhule held him and that team back!! Now he shining!!
@@micaharieshe’s a run stopping kind of player…
Nah DBrown has shown why he was drafted so high this year. He was an absolute monster and he is a Top 10 DT In the league. He’s only gonna get better too
You left out the fact that Dallas passed on T.J. Watt for Taco Charlton 😂😂
Also, to be fair, Devin Bush looked solid his rookie year and into his second year until he tore his ACL. When he came back he almost looked gun shy and played a lot more hesitantly.
John Ross was hyped by the media. Bengals fans didn’t buy it and the organization knew pretty damn quick
Facts tho. I didn’t even hear about him until the combine.
Still need to do 10 Nfl stars who got revenge on their old team
N'Keal Harry's biggest issue is he couldn't stay healthy to develop any chemistry with any of his quarterbacks in the NFL. That includes last season with the Bears.
Man that boy lazy stop making excuses for him
Cant agree on Reagor pick, Philly fans never hyped him, instead we got sh** faced furious for not taking Justin Jefferson 😂
Even though they said "This isnt talking about draft busts for the teams" it obviously was
Like bruh how he gon say that when the whole video is about the biggest disappointments aka busts
Besides Johnny football, since he was a low pick and the browns are terrible at drafting I’d say it would probably not be him
14:12 personally, as a Titans fan this is incorrect. By no means will I ever think he was over hyped, he lead us to many playoff wins for the first long times, disappointing part was our coaching staff. That ruined Marcus. I still will support him whatever happens to him
Video idea. How about great/good coaches who had disastrous results with their 2nd team. For example, George Siefert in Carolina.
and bill parcells with the jets
@@tre.gilford16Parcells took a 1-15 disaster from Richie Kotite and got them to 9-7 the very next year and one win away from the playoffs. Then got them to the AFC championship game the next season and had the Jets somewhat competitive in 1999 despite losing their quarterback in the first game of that season. Not really what I would call a bust.
How in the world did they not say Kelvin Benjamin for the Panthers?
You know Dwayne Haskins is dead right stop calling him a bust if he didn’t get to finish a career
True
As a Titans fan I believe Jake Locker to be a bigger bust then Mariota.
Got the panthers completely wrong. Not only is Derrick brown a really good player. But Kelvin Benjamin was the clear and obvious choice. Dude was one Popeyes biscuit away from being an o-lineman.
Vernon Butler was pretty bad too. Hell as a Panthers fan, that whole 2016 draft class was trash save for James Bradberry.
Video idea: 5 throwbacks that need to come back and 5 that shouldn’t
This was a great video.
Hollywood Brown was injured last year, using that against him is kinda crazy (coming from someone who doesn’t like him lol)
I disagree with Mariota as the biggest let down for the Titans. Isaiah Wilson went in the first round to see the field for 2 special teams plays and then was traded and made it 3 days with the Dolphins before being cut and not signed by anyone to this day.
yeah I thought the same thing. my only guess is they went with mariota because he actually played and was more interesting to talk about
@@EMLeth more than likely. Mariota took a bad Titans team and helps build a winning team. Heck he even won a playoff game. He did fall off fast but he helped turn it around a lot
I haven’t heard of Johnny “Football” Manziel’s name in ages! He is still considered the Browns biggest franchise failure!
I would say The Brown's themselves are their biggest failure. You really have to blame the owner can't just blame the player's. When the franchise is run as poorly as it is.
RIP Dwayne Haskins
You should do a show on every team's best undrafted signing of the last 30 years.
Arizona: Simmons just isn’t in the right system, I think that’s all it is.
Buffalo: Sammy Watkins might be one of the biggest busts in the last 10 years to win a Super Bowl
Chicago: If Mahomes or Watson gets drafted instead of Trubisky, they might wind up being busts also due to the culture
Raiders: Almost feels like Alex Leatherwood could make an argument if he doesn’t turn things around anytime soon
Rams: Todd Gurley feels more appropriate placement here, considering how good he was in college and unfortunately injuries were what derailed his career.
Patriots: As a fan of the team, Harry never deserved the hype that he got in the first place.
Steelers: Devin Bush just couldn’t get his head right and injuries didn’t help.
Commanders: Rest In Peace to his soul but Haskins just didn’t have the work ethic, that was all. Talent was there but he didn’t put the work into it.
idk why everyone hating on simmons hes done exactly what they needed hes been a coverage lb and hes made plenty of big plays and stops. weirdos lol
@@sillygoosen1536 Yeah, I like him and I still think he has great potential, he just needs the right coaching and if Jonathan Gannon can’t get the best out of him, then a fresh change scenery will be all he needs to succeed. The talent is there, he just needs to be utilized better than what Kliff Kingsberry did to him
RG3 should of been the pick for Washington
For the Minnesota Vikings, I would have absolutely put Laquon Treadwell or Mike Hughes over Wayans.
Isaiah Simmons was pretty solid last year plus the Cardinals are still figuring out where to play him also it’s only bout to be his 4th year.
and the cardinals whole defense was pretty bad the past years. Almost 0 pass rush in front.
Exactly him and Budda Baker were the best players on that defense. Chandler jones was inconsistent and JJ watt wasn’t the same too.
I’m not even a Cardinals fan bruh
@@Black4Cook ^
The thumbnail is very accurate lmao
artie burns should be the steelers, at least devin bush produced a little
Video ideas: Top NCAA football players who opted to not play in the NFL
Surprised Trey lance wasn’t on the list for the 49ers
Panthers player should have been Kelvin Benjamin I did not think he was all that. He was good but he was not worth I believe the 8th pick in that year draft
Dwayne Haskins would’ve been good with Mike Tomlin. Y’all should be ashamed to shame someone who is dead at such a young age
I would of went Ruben Foster for the niners. No one thought Solomon Thomas was a good pick. He was small for an interior and too big for the outside. EVERYONE thought Ruben was the next great LB. He knocked the snot out of people at bama. Thankfully we got Fred Warner in the 3rd round.
Picking Derrick Brown over Kelvin Benjamin, huge L.
Video idea: every team’s best season.
I would say Jerry Jeudy for the Broncos. He was pretty decent last year, but not a number one and it was his only strong season. He was thoroughly outplayed by Tim Patrick when healthy
Vince Young could have been a great one if given a true chance by Coach Fisher
Three QUICK IDEAS 💡:
1) Top Ten NFC/AFC “what ifs” ?
2) Top Trades That Could Get A Team to The Super Bowl
3) Each Teams Biggest Disappointment for 2023

Yea
Cardinals secondary would be at the bottom
@@brianvanasse7627 Ik
Wrong on my Vikings that pick would be Cordarelle Patterson...he was supposed to be a Randy Moss type after he gained playing experience he was a great returner never panned anywhere as a WR
Was not expecting Derrick Brown to be the choice for Carolina. Personally would have gone with Vernon Butler
You should do underrated players from every team.
Video idea: every teams current player with the highest HOF odds / a player from every team who should be in the NFL but not currently.
You should do your favorite player all time for each team
Trae Waynes was absolutely a quality starter. Listing him over Laquon Treadwell or Mike Hughes is insane
Video idea: biggest waste of talent from every nfl team.
Day 2: Please do 10-15 hidden gem players from the 2023 nfl draft (strictly in rounds 3 or later)
Idea: every teams best year that they ever had in their franchise history
10 Rookies who have the chance to live up to their high draft comparisons
We don’t put Haskins on here
I am playing a madden franchise as the saints and got Marcus Davenport to 86 overall

Video idea: Most Shocking NFL season, with a list of the shocking moments of that season.
Video idea: Dumbest/worst criminal charge from each draft class
Love your video TPS and keep up the great work
For me I’d want someone other than Clelin Ferrel for the Raiders as consensus was that the Raiders way overreached for him. Think reaction to Seahawks taking Derick Hall, but instead of a 2nd rounder it was a 1st (top 10?). With that being said I feel like there was grimacing and a “boy, I hope he can be worth that pick”
That being said… maybe Gareon Conley instead?? I’m not really sure how hyped he was, just didn’t love seeing Ferrel pop up for the Raiders (and I bet many fans felt the same way on draft night 😂)
*Top 5 OOF
Doug Martin is definitely Tampas. Winston hade 3 different head coaches in 5 years. Let the dude learn a playbook and get clear instructions.
Can’t believe the saints gave Davenport a extension and not Trey Hendrickson a couple years ago
Video idea: Best head coach of each NFL team
Idea: Best teammate on every nfl team(opposite of your worst teammate video)
Eric Ebron was supposed to be a compliment to Calvin Johnson and Golden State? 😂
Video suggestion: 5 nfl players that deserve another chance and 5 that don't
So good
Cardinals just need a better defensive coordinator to unlock Simmons’ full potential, kingsbury was never gonna work out lmaoo
Video idea:Every teams worst draft pick from 2000-2022
I don’t think you can consider Eric Fisher overhyped. Especially If you compare him to those other draft picks of that year I was probably the worst NFL draft. Yeah sure he dealt with some injury but he did his job. Had a successful career even was part of that team winning a Super Bowl in 2019
Derrick Brown being a top 5 DT in the league
TPS : "OVERRATEDDDDDDDDD"
Video idea- every teams best underdog
Bradley Chubb did make a Pro Bowl after that injury tho
Video idea: Every team's worst game-deciding play/decision made in a game.
Anxious to see if Brady Quinn makes the list
Luckily for BQ, Johnny Manziel will always beat him out.
I know you had a time limit on drafts but the Lions worst draft pick was A Ware. Wasn't even a foot ball player.
Bijan Robinson is going to make this list one day. It's Baker the 1st overall pick
bad take. remember when AZ drafted Josh Rosen. Simmons has been great, unsure why everyone hates him. he was drafted to play coverage lb and still near the top of the team in tackles.
Ten coaches who had only 1 good season.
People hated the Clelin Ferrell pick IMMEDIATELY, Henry Ruggs shouldve been the pick for the Raiders
Video idea: rank all nfl teams’ uniforms
Video idea: every teams biggest mistake when choosing not to resign a player and they go else were and ball out!
How disgusting that Miami pass rush of Cameron Wake and Dion was supposed to be
I totally agree about Devin Bush
Fisher more disappointing than Edwards-Helaire is wild.
No one hyped Reagor besides Howie Roseman
Top QBs screwed over by having no consistent Head Coach aka, QBs on teams who went through multiple head coaches and so no consistency
What ever happened to that qb the cardinals took high in the draft then the next year the took Murray over. That dude didn't even get a chance
Derek brown is a stud. Kelvin Benjamin should have been the pick for Carolina
I think that like many Washington QB's, the fault goes to the organization, not the player. RGIII, Haskins, and others could have been much better had they been on other teams.
I just watched a future first-ballot HoF QB have a horrific season in Denver, and he had been dominant for the first 10 seasons of his career and was right with Rodgers and Mahomes in discussions of best QB in the league.
If that can happen to him, Jameis Winston deserves a break. He is STILL south of 30 years old. Geno Smith is 22 and had the best year of his career last season, and he doesn’t have Jameis’s talent. Jameis won’t even be 30 until January of 2024, so he hasn’t played his year 29 season yet.
He has three more years to turn into at least Geno Smith, a lesser-talented QB, as stated before, and he has had better seasons in his earlier career than Geno had in his.
Jameis can play another 11-12 years. That’s another career. There’s no reason to give up on him unless his injuries overtake his abilities.
Bust
Meh. I'd say CEH was the bigger bust for Kansas City. Fisher was at least productive for his last few seasons.
The most overhyped free agent signings should be next @tps
