Great video. I loved practicing Aikido- for so many reasons- with benefits not just on the mat. And being able to listen with ones body as well to connect and to see everything as one and the realisation that intent can support connection or separation.
Similarly, I love taiji chuan (a minor point, as an aside, the chi in "Tai Chi" isn't the same as Ki in Aikido. Ki in Aikido is more accurately "Qi" (as in Qi-gong).
The literal translation of Taiji Chuan/Tai Chi Chuan is "supreme ultimate"/"great extremes" and "fist"/"boxing. The "chi" in this is not the chi that some think of. It was due to the earlier translation approach for Chinese "Wade- Giles" which didn't take pronunciation into account fully. This has been replaced by Pinyin (1958 in China and later adopted, in 1982, as the international standard. That's why Tai Chi Chuan is more correctly Taiji Chuan; Tao Te Ching is "Dao De Ching" and "Chikung" is Qigong. However, none of that affects the excellent points you make.

exellent, although i have not have 1 single aikido lesson, i am a martial artist and aikido describes the essence and the focus in my training. Harmony and unity is not only the goal, but also the way at the same time. I have been doing and instructing mostly full contact styles like wrestling and boxing, but i want to start aikido
    respect from norway

Aikido is a very good art that can help to equilibrate the hard combat styles that you can practice with an harmonization of the moves.

Also akido is Japanese culture. Closer to Shinto than real fighting

No one ever says what akido really is. It's for Japanese sword training and sword fighting. Ffs. All that other bullshit
