I have that kit as well and am finishing the build this spring. I did enjoy your video. Regarding the "extra" part you could not identify; I have the same part in my kit. It is part of the dagger board trunk plug that connects to the plug cap when NOT using a dagger board. Those two nibs in the part will match up with the holes in the underside of the cap. Hope that helps!
