this was the concert first piece i ever saw, when i was in 5th grade watching my high school’s wind ensemble performing. went home that night and told my parents i was going to be in band. 8 years later, my senior year, we were slated to play this for our last concert and perform it at carnegie hall in New York- we had practiced for months. My senior year was cut short due to covid in 2020. This piece will always hold a special place in my heart- if anyone ever performs this piece, please have fun playing it- do it for me. 🩵
