It helps build even more confidence. Also with spine whack tests, consistent strike points on the back of the blade as opposed to the upper handle, again builds a bit more trust in the strength. I dont know what your point is, that it didnt pulverize it and make the lock fail? Because without seeing the blade up front you cant really tell anything. If its like my new 4 max scout itll only take cutting a little more than a half dozen marigolds at the end of season when they were dried up like straw to roll the blade.
I only collect everything of Cold Steel so i don't use the marvellous products but it is nice to see that it's correct that they make the sharpest and toughest products.
The way it stuck into the side of the metal table was very impressive! I would've like to see a close up shot of the knives when they're hitting the objects. I do like your testing methods tho Stick.
Hi. I have only two smaller Cold Steels the micro Recon and the Grik but I'm excited about the verdict . The Engage would help round out my collection. On my bureau I have a small display case with a CS AD10 , CS AD15 , CS Pocket Bushman and a Demko AD20.5 , representing the Triad , Scorpion , Ram and Shark locks some day I plan on adding the Engage as well. @@bsm6776 I don't have the kiridashi but I edc'd the range boss for a year and a half with lots of use . The Range Boss and the kiridashi have 4034 ss , well the range boss does any how . I know there's more to it besides just the type of steel but any way I had good performance for a budget steel from my range boss . I did use the Grik but not as much as my range boss. I love my Grik but have not used it much compared to some other knives I have . The Grik is an odd ball for sure , I'm not sure what the design purpose was intended , it's really odd ??? @@bsm6776 oh yah , if your looking for a good 4 inch edc I highly recommend the Range Boss . the action on mine is awesome , just so you know the pocket clip is extremely difficult to use as alot of cold steel clips are but my range boss is the worst by far but l drop them in my pocket . but with a little sanding under the clip thats easily remedied. The Range Boss is super light weight and thin and it's not real noticeable carrying it but it's a big blade when you need it . Thanks again have a great weekend.
The cold steel airlite was nowhere near as tough as it used to be. Joe x did a video on it when it was still made by the old manufacturer and it passed with flying colors. He then bought the clip point version which was made by GSM at that point and it shattered into a billion pieces.
Stickman , the original coldsteel overstrike and spine whack equipment was a lot more believable than what you’re using now . Stabbing a knife through a cardboard tube is not impressive, stab it through a car door, car hood or 55 gallon drum. Then show if there is any blade damage or lock damage and have a video without all the editing .I know coldsteel is pushing the Atlas lock but the Tri-Ad lock made coldsteel lock strength legendary. I know the Tri-Ad lock patented will end soon just like benchmades Axis lock and everyone will be able to use the Tri-Ad lock but the Atlas lock is not coldsteels answer . I’m talking from experience with 3 different Engage’s with 3.5 s35vn inch blades that I bought and used. All 3 have blade play after normal use!
listen, I love cold steel products, those are the only knives I have BUT you really need to secure those knifes better to the testing medium. by having that knife lose like you have it, its barely taking the impact that it should. the movement of the knife absorbs all the impact. the old cold steel never did that. and the fact that the video is cut, which is very evident doesn't help your cause or to prove how tough the knife is.
You need to make a diver knife will hold together in saltwater hold a Edge cutting Turtles out off Nets need to hold a edge.it don't need to have a big blade.!!!!!!!!
