There's always been speculation that Tom's "new voice" is really something he does on purpose and forces. This performance makes me believe this is true. And no, the pain pill speculation is bullshit.

But I read that Tom started singing the way he does because he thought the audience wanted to hear something different than the studio version of songs. Like, why go to a concert just to listen to the CD. Again, I could be completely making this up, or gotten my bands mixed up.
