I purchased the 1200Pro because of 4 reasons: glass cup (container), all metal drive, the ability to reverse blade direction and last, the auto stop function. I have several Vitamix blenders - however unlike Oster, they went with the BPA free containers (BS) which if you did any investigation, the plastics industry pulled a scam on the public by replacing BPA with a plastic which is in fact more toxic than BPA. These plastic components are found in the blood of those who regularly used blenders with plastic BPA free containers. Your government is paid off by these industries. So it either stainless steel or glass. Glass is my preference. The Vitamix machines will either be sold on CL or I will create an adaptor which will allow a Oster glass jar to fit.

Exactly! BPA-free but has BPS I think. That’s why I’m considering buying the Oster. (Glass container)

10 year warranty?! Glass jar. 1200 watts. As well as a smoothie jar attachment? Incredible value for less than $100 now. Thank you for the excellent review.

Would be great to know which blender you think is the best and produces the smoothest results.

About the noise levels and blending smoothness of the Pro 1200, It is noisy are high speed however mid speed is not noisy. To get better smoothness, use mid speed, place for example apples, nuts with resins in the cup with little liquid at about 1/4 full, then blend for about one minute. Then add more liquid and blend for another 30 seconds. The Vitamix units I have does not have auto reverse like that of the Oster. Oster is unfortunately making a blender with a plastic jar. I stay completely away from that. Thumbs up on the review.

The blender watt ratings are misleading. It's advertised as 1200 watts but this is "peak" watts, which it only reaches in the first split second when you turn on the blender. Continuous wattage is what is important. On Target's product's description page it even says "This powerful Oster blender offers 1200 peak watts of blending power".
If you google there's a review for this where they tested the continuous wattage use and it maxed out at 450 watts which is a far cry from 1200.

It is actually very noisy, but all the pros outweigh the noise... totally worth it. I have this blender and I am very happy with it.

Did anybody else had troubles with the cheap plastic lever “anti-rotation”? Is busted since the very first second I pulled it

Can you use a classic Oster blender jar with that?
