This was amazing, so much better than an actual playthrough would have been. Can't believe people were so upset when we get amazing things like this trial out of it, hope people who childishly dropped funding stop taking it so seriously and come back.

I mean, I was disappointed at not seeing the playthrough because it would have been fun to listen to Kyle's grievances about the game as there would have been more time for him to elaborate. This is certainly a really fun result of it though, and people talking about pulling funding are frankly being ridiculous.

Kyle Bosman is heroic for what he did. He may be guilty of welching, but he welched so masterfully that we all got priceless bonus entertainment out of the whole mess. Kyle Bosman is certainly a diabolical mastermind, and he's the hero we need.

Gotta say, even though I was saddened to not see Bosman play through A Link to the Past. I have to say I was on the side Kyle beat the system & got away with it clean. But when Blood came to the bench (sofa) with the Covenant of Good Faith & Fair Dealing, I do believe that it put Kyle in breach of contract.
A shame we won't get to see him play through it. I think Ben summed up my feelings exactly regarding this.

+JazGalaxy How is it not relevant. There has been multiple bets that Huber has backed down on. Kyle wasn't even trying to back out of the bet. He followed the rules of the contract that was skewed in a way anyway.
+JazGalaxy Agreed. Nonetheless people do this in court cases all the time. There's still a point to it. Why get mad at someone not going about a bet like you want them to when they themselves haven't gone through with bets at all. If anything, even if he was found guilty, bringing this up could soften the blow. Bringing up past allegations may be uncalled for, but not pointless. Also granted that this is Easy Allies and not an actual court. ha.
Besides, he did everything that was in the contract. He cleared up the thing about the twitter times. He streamed it. It was a new save slot regardless when it was made or streamed. It was from start to finish, credits don't matter when the actual game is done. Unless credits was mentioned in the contract...
+JazGalaxy yeah. surprised that Huber decided to just off the bet entirely, but they later say it was a good decision since it strips Kyle away from his power to continue to skew the bet/contract. It's funny.
Huber was playing to the gallery in his testimony and offered very little of substance, Blood at least offered one strong argument in that the reasonable interpretation of a contract can be legally binding even if the wording leaves room to maneuver, but his arguments fell apart under cross-examination.
Obviously Kyle is a skeevy welcher, but no impartial observer would find him guilty on the basis of the arguments presented in that court/living room.
Good lord, first time watching this, but Bloodworth taking the stand.... sheer evisceration.

I still think Jones made the best argument - the Allies are meant to be entertaining. Are you not entertained? Kyle purposely misinterpreted the contract, but he did it to make us laugh, to give us drama, to give us entertainment - not having to play a game he doesn't care for was just an extra bonus and not the main intent.

Why have I missed so much Easy Allies content. This is all so good.
Almost 7 years later and no one has pointed out that this case should have been dismissed, declared a mistrial, or appealed. There were so many unethical and legal misconduct. Huber lying on the stand. Not finding an impartial jury. Huber consistent outburst while his best friend presided over the case. All of these things are unacceptable.
Still, some of the best court room dramas on TV and movies have conduct that would not be allowed. This is now among them. Great watch.

I'm torn I want to like the video because it was hilarious and funnier that many comedy shows, but the fact Kyle was found guilty is a travesty.
The troll is of such epic scale and within the confines of the contract the trail was void even then it was a damn near tied in the vote, have that clear conscious Kyle.
This was a stream that had no gameplay and was awesome, keep up the amazing work allies.

Huber is trying soo hard not to laugh in the beginning, keeps covering his mouth with his hand and looking away from the camera and everyone else. It's great.
So guilty. Glad justice was served. Not glad that he has no punishment. Should have been forced to silently watch in the corner with a "GUILTY" hat on.
No wait. Got a better one. Bosman wearing a t-shirt with the words "LINK TO THE PAST IS MY FAVORITE GAME" painted on it and then walking down a busy street (or convention center) while the rest of the crew shout "Shame!" over and over. Huber gets the bell of course.

It was so obvious that Kyle won. Chat and everyone else just want to see Kyle go through a game he doesn't like (like Kyle said at the end). Especially since it's a much loved game, (don't care for it myself).
The streams with Kyle were perfect. He knew what he was doing. He followed the contract. Listen to when it's his turn to talk to everyone. He's right about everything.
Granted, people are taking this too seriously. It's all in good fun. Haha.

as amusing as this all was, all it really does is make it to where any bet with kyle is longer interesting because he wont actually fulfill it. Which really just makes all the bets moot because of it.

+Alex Warne yeah the contract actually made looking for loopholes more inciting. I don't get how Kyle got this reputation for not honoring bets. He did his 10 minute stand-up with original material. He also did his 1 hour stand-up and it's unreasonable to expect original material in that case.
This. He said this on the stream itself. The "airtight" contract just invites finding loopholes.
Besides, the bets are entertaining on their own, and I greatly prefer it when the stakes are silly, having to stream a LttP playthrough isn't that silly or embarrassing.

This is actually incredible what Huber did. To take on debt of his opponent and carry the weight himself, it's a rare individual who can do that. Huber is incredibly strong and brave and I doubt any of the other allies have a big enough heart to display the legendary strength and selflessness of Michael P Huber. You are a man of honor, and a man among men. Kyle will learn in time that being a worm only lowers you into the dirt. Michael displayed Strength and Honor, while Kyle squirmed out of a debt beyond his capability to fulfill. Michael is a champion of the people, and Kyle, a lowly shadow slinking away and shirking all responsibility to his Allies, his fans, his Patrons, and his viewers. You will find, Gentlemen, that your reputation multiplies over time.
Love how both Kyle and Huber are both desperately trying not to crack up. Awesome hahaha
1. stream notifications can be delayed, as admitted to by Twitch themselves. 2. contracts are null and void if intended to harm any party, i.e. forcing discomfort. 3. the save slot in that stream actually fits ALL of those definitions Blood listed and I'm happy to elaborate if anyone is interested.

There's a lot of technical arguments that can be made one way or the other, but I believe the thing that ultimately breaks Kyle's neck is Blood's first point, the covenant of good faith and fair dealing. The way it looks to me, this applies to "all contracts" as Bloodworth said which nullifies Kyle's point that there are different kinds of contracts or that no money was exchanged. And it's very clear that he was aware of Huber's interpretation and yet did not share his own. Therefore, as Blood said, the interpretation of the ignorant party should be enforced and Kyle violated that interpretation, thus he is indeed in breach of contract. That said, I'm sad Huber took it upon himself to play it instead, there's no punishment whatsoever now... But it was a very entertaining trial regardless of the outcome.

You're right, the Covenant of Good Faith and Fair Dealing applies to all contracts (even if they not written down), so it would have definitely applied here as well.

The problem with that interpretation is that there was no contract. In order for a contract to be valid, there has to be consideration for both parties. Contracts also can't exist for contingent events (in this case "if you lose a bet"). Because there was no consideration for Kyle, there was never a contract (void).
All someone had to do was Google Void/Voidable Contract
Justice was not served.
Kyle is innocent and rather than punishing him, we should commend him for the brilliant trick he pulled on Huber.

Wish you guys had given 24 hours for people to vote so you could include those like me who due to time zone differences, can't watch your live streams and instead watch them later here on youtube. I'm glad Huber is gonna stream Zelda in place of Kyle and I will definitely watch it. It wouldn't be enjoyable anymore to watch Kyle play A Link to the Past if you have to go through all this to "force" him to play. He just took all the fun out of it for me. Huber team for life!
