Years off letting fuel and time to build up leads to these conditions. However wildfires are part of the life cycle of most grasslands and firsts. It seems 5 everyone forgets that. However I pray for the families because individually it is not their fault.

With the winds I’m seeing there is nothing a FD could do except get killed trying. This is a conflagration, it’s ends when there’s nothing left to burn or the winds die down and you can get crews in. You cannot battle this under these conditions

You needed to have seen fire propagation Coffey Park in Santa Rosa, Calif, in October 2017 and you would change your tune. High winds 50-75mph blew flames and there were fire tornadoes. Intense heat from an engulfed house burst out window glass and within 30 seconds the house next door was fully engulfed. The furniture, bedding, carpets lit up almost instantly. I was amazed to see some stucco exterior walls still partially standing afterwards. Burning embers blew into screens on gable roof vents and ignited even metal roofs from underneath. 1500 homes burned to the ground that night within hours. After that, I installed 1-1/2 inch galvanized water pipe around my property with 1 inch pipe agricultural impact sprinklers that shoot 125 foot radius. I can energize the sprinklers then bail out. I installed spray nozzles under my eaves and aluminum mesh over the gable vents. The windows are the weak point.

And bullshit. Then PGE payments are taxable from law suit. It’s a dam joke. Even worse. The city cleaned up several properties of those who couldn’t afford it. Then they put there name on the deed to house. Yep. They said each property cost 75k to clean and now those people are screwed. Total shit show. The property insurance rates in Colorado are going to skyrocket after this. I can’t remember a fire of this magnitude sweeping through an area of this size out on the plains. Certainly been bad fires up in the mountains and in the foothills over the years, but nothing like this. Fire crews can do nothing about a wildfire when there are 80 mile an hour winds. As a fire survivor who lost my home a little over a year ago, I can say that these people need help on so many levels. Thankful I got my cat out, but that was all. They will need every single thing, but the most important is genuine care and concern, not just words. Those who brought me food, and clothes, and gave me a roof over my head... those are my angels, and they truly saved me. Whatever you can do, giving a blanket, toothbrush, anything... means so much. And please be patient. Grief comes in waves, and healing takes a long time.

I was in FM lived in Timberlee, during this devastated fire and thankfully everyone evacuated town safe. Praying no one gets hurt.

The logic you people have that we aren't doing anything to the weather is actually insane. My family has lived here in Colorado for 5 generations and what we've seen here is nothing like we'd seen ever before. Even a quick google search of the fire statistics from the 1970's to now shows how dramatically higher the amount of fires and size of fires are here in Colorado.

A lot of been happening this past year, life is not normal any more prayers for those people who lost their homes.
No real winter, no snow, but they are burning us out of Cali, Colorado and other states to start off the new year, there is nothing to celebrate.
Colorado is actually suppose to get snow tomorrow at 5am so we are really hoping we do to help out the problem
