Hi, I am trying to code a replacement DME for a E70 X5, can this be done via NCS Expert, or do I need to use WinKFP to add the VIN first. I see that you were able to add a VIN via NCS Expert, am I able to do it this way. Many thanks
Hi Yes, WinKFP will do it, chose the correct software and input the VIN you want before programming... otherwise Tool32 should also do it. But if the ecu you are working on requires the match of the ISN, the will not start even after all of that... And BMW tools will not help. You need other tools to either copy the ISN from your old ecu if it is still readable, or read the ISN from the CAS and then write it into the ecu... A quick google search and you will find plenty of info on the topic... 👍👍👍
There is several... HexProg for example should be able to do it... Another option is, if the old one is still readable, clone it with k-tag for example...
