I know everybody talks about how this got filmed in one shot, there was a ton of pressure on everyone not to make a mistake right??,, how about the singer herself??,, not only that she had to be in focus of the camera the whole time, but she had to learn all the dances of all the dancers and do it with them from first to last one!, that's put way more pressure on her than everyone else!, that's amazing
Yeah, what adds to that also is how it ain't a totally closed set or nothing. You've got a few random people walking into the frame in the background and they could easily have ruined it. But in the end the brought a bit of real life into the frame. Yeah hats off the the director who must had about 20 things to coordinate off camera, plus the must have spend days practicing that routine. That's how you make music videos that last.
Really love this song and video. A few have commented on how awful the dancing is but I disagree. OK it's not a polished dance crew, but there's a rawness to it that I love. Not sure if anyone is aware of this, but Kiesza had a broken rib whilst filming this; she was in a lot of pain and had difficulty moving properly This coupled with the fact that the video is one long shot, I think, makes this awesome!
Oh wow, that's why I kept seeing her hand a little floppy. SHIT! That must have hurt! I think she did a GREAT job with her dance flow and did the 90's justice. NKOTB eat your hearts out lol

"You're just a hideaway, youre just a feeling..." Music like this breathes life back into "HOUSE MUSIC" from the mid to early '90's that I grew up on: if you took Black Box "Everybody, Everybody" and Aly-us "Follow Me" and put them into a blender, this would be the result. A classic for my generation (43yrs old) and those that follow. Job well done. Kiezsa!
It's a bit odd, the video screams mid-80s NYC (except the vehicles of course) in how it's styled, but the sound is more 1990-92 deep house. It's a decent combination though.

It's cool how perfectly she captures that early 90s dance music, but weird that the video seemingly goes in another direction altogether to have that slightly cheaper 80s(or some might say awesome 80s) look in its clothes, styles, and graffiti. And even weirder still, 116 million hits and the single wasn't even released in that usually crucial American market to get those kind of hits. The bulk of it must be coming from the Austrailian market, and to a lesser degree the UK, and Canada. Having said that, this video is quite impressive.
We'll said, I think its a success because people are tired from all those fake shitty idiotic computer videos. THIS IS REAL, what other thing can be more good than this :)
"Cheaper eighties"? Some people might still complain about 90s clips as trashy or cheesy but I can think of a few "contemporary" ones that are trailer trash by comparison, no matter the budget. Just like new flicks that are heavily reliant on effects and computer graphics and such as far as plot and acting goes. I can't even watch any without zzzzzzzzz ...
Still in awe of this one shot music video! I love the random appearance of a group of guys who were on the way to the white car. They stopped and let the filming go on. So respectful!

@@shaolinmunky2012 I mean it's technically possible that there's a cut in there sure, but I almost feel like that would be harder to get right than just a pure one take.

Her voice is way too high it sounds bad if she's just singing high the whole song it's so I uncreative she's repeating short words it might sound good but high notes all the time and it will hurt your ear if your using headphones that's why it's the hate it's true it hurts my ear when I'm using headphones it's not a opion it's a fact

Ive just realised how much of a masterpiece this is, the girl, the voice, the choreography, the beat, the camera work, the setting, the main girls fit and her energy🫡

Agree, none of it is great but its nice to watch.
Having said that, this video is quite impressive.
it debuted at #1 in the UK
I heard it on the radio once, a couple weeks ago in the states. And they played the video numerous times on mtv clubland.
TruePATRIOT Cool. It didn't hit the charts down there yet so I assumed it wasn't released there.
OOOOOOOOO - AAAAAAAAAAAAA . Song in two words
LOL
+AnimeKiller icsde But the video is beautifully choreographed
spoofer20 Yeah , especially that asian girl :)

Love this song! Still a banger in summer 2023!

Totally 80s and earlys 90s. But the youth people still dont understand.
I'm sorry but to me this is just fucking awful..
Guilherme Rosalem dont look any more, the life is simply
Not me man. Loving this :)
Dude yes! I was gonna comment, you beat me to it.
i am sorry for my generation. they don't know what culture is.
Such an impressive video when you consider it's one shot, no edits.
the amount of dislikes on this video makes me mad, this is a genius video for it being only one take, I'm obsessed with it
Ricky Dillon Exactly what I was thinking. I loved this song and the video even more. I think it's better than most of the trash people put out now and these days
Ricky Dillon Just disliked this...hope you're mad :). Btw maybe you like the dancing and such...whatever personal choice...but this chick did not sing shit during this "mix". Probably you could release a song like this.
Ricky Dillon Genius vid? HUH? What's Genius about it? Great song vid sucks!

it was an uncut video, nobody actually praise how well choreograph this is
If it's uncut, those black girls at 1:35 must have some teleport power! They go off screen on the left and reappear only 2 seconds later on the right.
@@blinkonceonsunday1325 if it IS cut, that editor has some super skills -- you can't even see the cuts!
@Dash no, it was about 6 seconds. They could have run around the camera man, but they'd have to move pretty quickly.
@Dash Ahh.. brainpower. That explains a lot.
@@shaolinmunky2012 I mean it's technically possible that there's a cut in there sure, but I almost feel like that would be harder to get right than just a pure one take.
7 years later still wondering if these 4 fellas were there on purpose
They were waiting to get in there Benz

Haha never noticed them till you pointed them out. LoL
What about the skateboarder?
I always think it's funny how happy dancers look as they run to get into place before they start dancing.
10 years and I've looped the internet back to here!! Love that long one take!
I still can't believe they did this in one take.
True
Midi Music Forever same here
Iiiiikkopppppppllpp
Not only was this in only one take she also had a broken rib as well.
@@WoolfJ35
That's really impressive. It's not evident at all in the way she moves.
Why so much hate? I don't understand it's such a great song and makes me wanna dance
It's an original song and video, that's make this producion awesome!
Some people force themselves to watch videos even if they don't like it, and then comment like everybody has the same taste not understanding what "human taste" means.
Huggs Vanessa Im using headphones too but she sounds amazing to me
I'm Already Dancing :o
Holy crap, this was really amazing! One solid shot!

What a brilliant piece of work, well done Kiesza.
I loovee the asian girl's dancing. She just seems so committed.
Shut up you fuckin racist
ALL DAM DAY 😆😆 What? How am I racist?
saying stuff about asians and shit
ALL DAM DAY 😂😂You are not serious. I'm allowed to voice my positive opinion about the asian woman in the video. There's nothing racist about that.
wow... she was pretty much just like the rest of them..
This will remain one of the smoothest, coolest music videos, ever, just considering the fact that it's all 1 take, along with the amazing choreo, and the amazing song
and she had a fractured rib during the entire video
@@Laser174300 Oh, damn 😟😫 I'm sorry to hear that. Even more admirable. She is fantastic ❤️

Why was this never on the radio? Geezzz.....badass song
I live in Florida but back then this song would come on 3 times on different stations but now it's gone
It used to be for a while. Def not one of the most played songs but I'd hear it now and then on the radio. They don't play it anymore though.

although I love this song, All about that bass has a WAY better message
Holy, shit, its almost as if there are places outside of the USA, woah...
Monkeystaxx I agree. Hmmmmm
Good music .
all about the bass is actually better and original , not saying that I hate this one !
I like how 90's the song and outfit is ,even tho the video didnt cost them a lot it s better then famous artist that hoe it up showing their body for more cash and view .This is some genuine song
So true
Exactly
cough iggy cough cough
i think it s 83.6
lol they are 80s retro style outfits.
Amazing how she did all this in one take with a broken rib.
+Xyniss wow, really? that's some inspirational shit right there
Tido yep haha I was surprised too!
She wanted to get it over with lol
Xquavius Ellison lool she had her rib broken during the take of this video Dx
Xyniss Oh. Wait at which scene? Because I did see her cringe in pain when she got back up at one part
I love watching 1 take music videos because of the passion but also if your 1 second late to be on the spot it can ruin a video
True fact :
We can all agree that Kiesza never disappoints, her talent is pure and her voice is out of the world!!
