Singing should not damage your body at all if you have the right technique. Yes you might lose your voice for a few days but in the long run their voices should be pretty healthy.

She just has a very high vocal range so anytime when someone with a higher vocal range when they sing higher, they tend to sing louder cause that’s what feels right to them so it may sound like screaming, but technically it’s not but it’s your opinion and you don’t have to agree with mine it’s totally ok.

If she strained at any point while belting, having tension in her throat to push for those notes, then that’s not belting. Strain doesn’t equal awesome high notes. But neither does it mean that she’s terrible at singing. Healthy belting should sound clean, controlled, not screechy, pitchy or forced. I’ll never attempt such a high note if I lack in proper technique. And if I lack proper technique I will try to work on it. Because healthy singing is mastered singing, regardless of your range.
yg needs to stop putting her voice at risk sometimes... she's talented yes. But if this goes live with all the heavy breathings from dancing, this could affect her voice. It's not deniable that she got a high range, but in this type of song, i think it's unnecessary.

I love her high notes, but I think YG should also give it to other members cause when they go on tour etc, if she's the one doing pretty much all the high notes, her vocals will get strained (from my analysis, she's been the only one doing the high notes, it's gonna get very straining in the future)
Half agree. I think the issue is the approach to it, not the member. There are so many other groups out there who can perform high notes without exerting, and I think the issue is YG’s approach to the high notes, needing a belting one. I fear of YG giving it to other members though… cos firstly rami has had a lung disease before so I especially fear her. Others like rora and Chiquita excel in vocal consistency instead of vocal range and idk if it’s wise to stretch theirs when they probably haven’t been stretched before. It isn't about the highnotes, we are just worried. Her vocal cord may get damaged if YG keeps giving her these highnotes for like every song they comeback. Maybe they could share some highnotes with other members and Ahyeon can show her rapping skills or sth.

This is not a high note, this is just trying to scream as loud as possible. If YG doesn't control it, Ahyeon's throat will be in danger in the future if she continues to scream like that.

My opinion as a vocalist and music nerd. Ahyeon's a very gifted singer and very talented. But her belting technique is shallow and underdeveloped. Thus, she's basically screaming to PUSH the notes out. Also, I notice YG Ent. is pushing Ahyeon especially as a "vocalist" to mean as a high note-ist. Like Flowers, that chain of high belts doesn't fit with the song and comes off as show-off-ish and attention seeking. And reminder, this is YG's doing. I don't think she's bad at all, and I know she can hit those notes. But I want YG to notice this now and work on getting her to work on hitting those notes better and in a way that won't damage her voice later on. There's a lot of strain on Drip's high note (even in the studio version) and I really hope she works on this before she causes problems. Just please don't overhype her. She's not the best vocalist in 5th gen. Even Rami outclasses her in everything except range. Does she have the potential to be? I can't tell but she's not out of the running yet.

YG is famous for putting auto-tune on all singers. If you listen to the genuine songs of the singers in this company, it is definitely not the voice you thought it would be.
Ahyeon has the widest vocal range among the group members however we don't want her vocal cords to be damaged, she's still young, and she's gonna suffer specially during concerts and world tours in the future, we already know ahyeon's capabilities and YG wants to show her off but it is not necessary that in every comebacks there should be high notes and extremely high notes like that, sometimes it is better to do normal singing and focus on other members for the meantime than letting ahyeon stress her vocal cords every comebacks
She’s out of tune in that studio version and straining her voice a lot. I hope they take care of her vocals and teach her to transition into her falsettos more seamlessly.

I absolutely get the love for high notes and those chills they can bring-Ahyeon is super talented, and this isn’t shade towards her or anyone else hitting those high notes. But let’s be real: pushing for those extreme notes all the time can wear down vocal cords, especially in younger artists. We know these singers can deliver those powerful moments, but it’s not necessary in every song or performance. They’re so young, and if they keep straining their voices like this, by the time they’re 25-30, they might not have the same range or vocal quality because of the damage that can build up over time.

yeah, but with wicked they are adequately trained vocalists with years of technique fine-tuning and skill. they know how to sing correctly and in a healthy way that minimizes damage. yg has always been careless with vocal coaching and they prefer stylized voices over technique, which is why they’re pushing ahyeon (who has developed unhealthy habits and bad strain) over a vocalist like rora, who has a much more balanced and supported range. i just feel bad that ahyeon is obviously being pushed for publicity when we can hear how damaging these high notes are and she’s gonna be exhausted. vocal damage is also not something to make light of, it’s serious

YGE really needs to make sure that they continue her training if they keep giving her these kinds of vocal tricks. That last note was strained and even the second note was getting there too. It’s so strained it’s even coming across in the processed vocals. THAT IS NOT GOOD. She is going to damage her voice if this keeps up. And it will happen quickly. I’m not saying this out of hate. She has great potential, but I am genuinely concerned. Being able to hit a note means nothing if it isn’t done with healthy technique. She needs more training.
I don't understand why does yg gives her all those hight notes. I mean LITERALLY ALL her hight notes are so tense and sometimes sound extremely irritating (like here or flowers cover etc). Ahyeon’s voice is so addicting and beautiful like I would rate her number 1 in high notes BY FAR!! She is one of the best vocalist (following Rami and Rora). Like she’s 17… being 17 and having such a talent is RARE. I LOVE HERRR
she’s straining the last two notes in both versions .. almost borderline screaming the last one. because her technique is not great and she gets nasally in her upper range, this belt is very unpleasant and piercing to hear. i pray she learns better technique and yg gives the more vocally challenging parts to rami and rora (if that’s the names of the other two girls who sing quite well in baemon. i’m not a fan). they should make ahyeon sing in her lower register instead because she actually sounds quite nice and way more comfortable doing so.

Singing should not damage your body at all if you have the right technique. Yes you might lose your voice for a few days but in the long run their voices should be pretty healthy.

If she strained at any point while belting, having tension in her throat to push for those notes, then that’s not belting. Strain doesn’t equal awesome high notes. But neither does it mean that she’s terrible at singing. Healthy belting should sound clean, controlled, not screechy, pitchy or forced. I’ll never attempt such a high note if I lack in proper technique. And if I lack proper technique I will try to work on it. Because healthy singing is mastered singing, regardless of your range.

Half agree. I think the issue is the approach to it, not the member. There are so many other groups out there who can perform high notes without exerting, and I think the issue is YG’s approach to the high notes, needing a belting one. I fear of YG giving it to other members though… cos firstly rami has had a lung disease before so I especially fear her. My opinion as a vocalist and music nerd.
Ahyeon's a very gifted singer and very talented. But her belting technique is shallow and underdeveloped. Thus, she's basically screaming to PUSH the notes out. Also, I notice YG Ent. is pushing Ahyeon especially as a "vocalist" to mean as a high note-ist. Like Flowers, that chain of high belts doesn't fit with the song and comes off as show-off-ish and attention seeking. And reminder, this is YG's doing.
I don't think she's bad at all, and I know she can hit those notes. But I want YG to notice this now and work on getting her to work on hitting those notes better and in a way that won't damage her voice later on. There's a lot of strain on Drip's high note (even in the studio version) and I really hope she works on this before she causes problems.
Just please don't overhype her. She's not the best vocalist in 5th gen. Even Rami outclasses her in everything except range. Does she have the potential to be? I can't tell but she's not out of the running yet.

I absolutely get the love for high notes and those chills they can bring-Ahyeon is super talented, and this isn’t shade towards her or anyone else hitting those high notes. But let’s be real: pushing for those extreme notes all the time can wear down vocal cords, especially in younger artists. We know these singers can deliver those powerful moments, but it’s not necessary in every song or performance. They’re so young, and if they keep straining their voices like this, by the time they’re 25-30, they might not have the same range or vocal quality because of the damage that can build up over time.

Honestly, they should let her just lip sync the note to save her vocals. Everyone knows she can hit the note. It’s like Wicked. Great musical but it usually destroys the leads voice afterwards.

yeah, but with wicked they are adequately trained vocalists with years of technique fine-tuning and skill. they know how to sing correctly and in a healthy way that minimizes damage. yg has always been careless with vocal coaching and they prefer stylized voices over technique, which is why they’re pushing ahyeon (who has developed unhealthy habits and bad strain) over a vocalist like rora, who has a much more balanced and supported range. i just feel bad that ahyeon is obviously being pushed for publicity when we can hear how damaging these high notes are and she’s gonna be exhausted. vocal damage is also not something to make light of, it’s serious

I can't do that ,but tbh it was really bad, she was shouting,I heard voice cracks, and it's kind of out of tune but Ahyeon is really talented.
Listening closely, it is not out of tune, and she wasn’t shouting. But there are small voice cracks, but that’s expected for be improved as she continues her career.

YGE really needs to make sure that they continue her training if they keep giving her these kinds of vocal tricks. That last note was strained and even the second note was getting there too. It’s so strained it’s even coming across in the processed vocals. THAT IS NOT GOOD. She is going to damage her voice if this keeps up. And it will happen quickly.
I’m not saying this out of hate. She has great potential, but I am genuinely concerned. Being able to hit a note means nothing if it isn’t done with healthy technique. She needs more training.

ahyeons a good vocalists but her high notes are not pleasant to listen to. she sounds like she's screeching and screaming and she's flat when she's live asw. it'd be hard to perform live. I think they need to change the high note a little lower and rami should have them she clearly has the range and her voice acc sounds nice. ahyeons a good vocalist still but rami is more pleasant.

she’s straining the last two notes in both versions .. almost borderline screaming the last one. because her technique is not great and she gets nasally in her upper range, this belt is very unpleasant and piercing to hear. i pray she learns better technique and yg gives the more vocally challenging parts to rami and rora (if that’s the names of the other two girls who sing quite well in baemon. i’m not a fan). they should make ahyeon sing in her lower register instead because she actually sounds quite nice and way more comfortable doing so.
