Dr. AJ Wheeler's hectic schedule keeps him out of action, but his team battles high winds in the heli to save a snowmobiler with a busted femur. Then another call comes in and Dr. Wheeler is there, trying to rescue a man who tumbles off a 200 foot cliff.
Bone crushing avalanches taking down skiers. Wild grizzly bears mauling hikers. Kayakers pinned under boulders in rushing rivers. None of these people are getting out alive without the help of a fearless team of men and women, ready to deploy to save them. This is Backcountry Rescue.

I've got nothing but the utmost respect for these backcountry rescuers..... if it weren't for these guys and ladies then alot more people would die or not be found till its too late... I personally enjoy backcountry skiing up here in Canada and have yet to run into any problems where I would need to call on these guys to come help me *knock on wood*
7:52 "It's a pretty accomplished group of snowmobilers. They're all locals". But...they didn't even insulate the patient from the snow while he lay there for 45 minutes waiting for search and rescue.
Awesome thanks 👍
They knew the patient had a broken femur, but they brought the helicopter in with the wrong configuration of seating? What!
