The movie actually has a much deeper meaning than simply a man standing over a mine...if you focus on its literal sense then there isnt much to it. The movie is about fear and how people are in most cases captives and prisoners of their own created fears...fear of taking that step, forgetting the past and moving forward. keep walking..Johnnie Walker

hipperson713 yep i agree, watching it on netflix and was frustrated with this pretentious trying way to hard plot. As soon as he found the toy soldiers in the can after he dug it up i turned it off. Looked at RT and had it at 18%. The few times i dont look at the reviews first man..

hipperson713 i agree and the premise of the film was intriguing but got over complicated for no reason. There was scene i the film where he shot 2 guys half a second apart with a bolt action sniper rifle that seemed very weird to me.

this movie is absolutely amazing. it’s not the classic war movie with a guy killing the enemies waiting to be rescued, it talks about the human mind and the limits and barriers that people build around themselves. 10/10
was it ever explained why they had zero support for a sniper mission? like you'd think they could send in a helicopter faster than waiting over 2 days for a convoy

@@Jomskylark it was explained that due to the frequent sand storms they couldn't get any aircraft airborne, and that the convoy was constantly getting ambushed which is why it took so long

Just got done watching this with my fiancee and at first I was like, take the shot but about time I got to the end, it gave me a different prospective of life. Loved this movie. 10/10

I watched this movie yesterday night....and I'm gonna say Armie Hammer has done a real fantastic job in it. While watching it I really got much more respect for the soldiers out there. The movie tries to deliver its message through the struggles of a marine stranded physically and mentally, who is not ready to let go of the fear that his next step could be his last one. But at the end of it, takes a leap of faith to become free from his problems in the desert and in his personal life too.

This is a really good movie. I teared up when his mom was in the hospital and told him he had to let her go.
Just watched this movie. Real deep meaning behind it. Left me with a different perspective of life. Always take that first step, to move and get balanced or we will never go anywhere..
PTSD is a terrible disorder to have to cope with. The abuse from his father and the beliefs that he possessed conflicted with what should be presented as an immediate decision to eliminate bad, and have the confidence to step forward, and be fearless when it comes to making a positive step forward as opposed to holding back because of fear. PTSD is powerful enough to eliminate your ability to move forward. Be strong my brothers and sisters. True love forever.
I love these kinds of movies like “48 hours,” “127 hours” and “mine” where the whole movie is set in one place, but it still keeps you so intrigued
You should watch The Wall, pretty much another war movie just like Mine about a soldier stuck behind a small wall, pinned down by a Sniper for the whole movie.

This is honestly one of the greatest movies ever created... I'm surprised that it didn't get an Oscar back then. It's very deep... honestly, even of you don't like movies, this is a must see for everyone!

It is fantantic how they created the arabic environment. You can feel it in the first 5 minutes just when the vehicles showed up with the EU plates and the stickers of the technical inspection from spain on the windshields. Just awesome.

This film was spectacular! Armie Hammer gave one of the best performances of his career as he demands our attention through most of the film’s duration - battling his inner turmoil to survive his dire situation. Such a well made film delivering some spectacular performances. This film is a gem!
This is a true story. Imagine being in the desert, stepping on a mine for over 5 days. The physical and psychological torture would've killed me by then.

This was an excellent movie.
This already came out in italy and it's one of the best movies i've seen in a very long time, mostly because it's unexpected and even though the premise might seem boring IT'S SO EMOTIONALLY INTENSE.
It's such an emotional movie, it will surprise you i swear.
I've already seen it and I loved it, it was nothing like I was expecting. I suggest to everybody to see it. Forget the prejudices about propagnda, 127 hours or predictability. Give the movie a chance!

He’s a symbol. Marines are looked at as the symbol of US Military grit physically, and when you see why he is there in the first place, and what happens to his mind and sanity, that’s when the movie gets incredible

The scene just before his friend "stepped" on the mine, he speaking ..no shouting for Mike to keep moving ,not only there but in life keep moving always take the steps, it don't always lead to pain like the pain experienced with his dad, loss of his mom, almost losing Jenny cause never finish the work he stop at the doors hence the mirage of the door and walls, he needed to go through that door let the wall come down, take the " steps"..keep moving on🎶🎵
