What is Jalwa??
In Hindu tradition, after a boy child is born a mother along with her family and a baby boy goes to worship a well. This is known as Jalwa poojan.
Perviously this function is used to done after a month of delivery but nowadays it's done according to everyone adjustments and needs.
In the function the new mother worship at well and carry a pot to fill from there with the help of brother in law. After returning he helps his bhabhi to descend the pot, in return bhabhi give some gifts to him. After the function mother starts doing routine house hold chours.
जलवा क्या हैं?
हिन्दू मान्यता में एक नई मां बेटा होने के बाद अपने परिवार के साथ ससुराल में कुंवे पर जाकर पूजा करती है उसी को जलवा पूजन कहते हैं।
पुराने समय में यह डिलीवरी के तुरंत एक महीने बाद रविवार के दिन किया जाता था अपितु आजकल अपने इच्छानुसार कभी भी कर दिया जाता है।इसमें काफी परिवर्तन आ गया है।
नई मां खाली घडोली लेकर कुंआ पर जाती हैं,फिर उसका देवर ये घड़ोली उस कुनवे से इसे भरकर देता हैं। वापस अपने घर आने पर देवर इसे उतरवाता हैं,बदले में भाभी कुछ भेंट देती हैं। इस फंक्शन के बाद से नई मां रोज मर्रा के काम करने शुरू कर देती हैं।
