Great looking trip Simon. Looked like those mozzies were trying to get you. I've seen a fair few snakes here in Australia whilst hiking, if you've boots and long pants on you'll be right as most bites are to the Ankles. Usually if I'm hiking alone especially near rivers or dense bush I wear gaiters. In all my years I've come close but not stepped on one yet thankfully. 👍👍
Thanks Ollie, those mozzies are always trying to get in my ears and up my nose ha ha! I really couldn't imagine what it's like over in Aus with all them snakes n such ha ha, that must have taken some getting used used to? Hope your doing well and there is some relief from the quarantine mate?
Koirakivi= Dogstone ...... A snakebite is very individual, or the "effect" of it. For many it is really bad, and for others mainly a "nuisance". In my 6+ decades I´ve been biten 3 times, not fun but mostly a nuisance, and a bunch of pills, as First Aid. You ought to be Aware, but NO PANIC ! ...... Take care: Ralf ...........
Thanks Ralf👍 Yes Dog Stone one of many whimsical 'straight translations' into English😂 I'm pretty sure it's not much fun to get bitten by a poisonous snake and the effects can vary so much person to person, touch wood I have been lucky and I always carry with me some kyypakkaus 3 tablets 50mg hydrocortisone. That's the subtle point I was making in the video also "don't panic". Still go to the National Park you probably will never see a snake. I know so many people who will never go to this park because of the fear mongers. Thanks for watching Ralf and thanks for you comment👍All the best mate😃
@@AnEnglishmaninFinland1 Yep, the second time I got Bitten, I had a "kyy pakkaus" at home, so I took it, and btw when I as about 50 years old Got a bad reaction to my favourite, new potatoes, sardines and snaps, I took 2 kyy pakkaus, and it helped. And, the snake will bite you only if it is "cornered" or surprised. Normally it slithers away, and you will not know it was there, Looks like you got a pretty "relaxed" way of being outdoors, and that is also "my way", so take care, pidä huoli itsestäsi, sköt om dig: Ralf .............
Good tips there Ralf thanks a lot. Yes the one time I saw one, in (10 years) it was under the duck boards and it went away quite fast when I approached. I think it's important to be relaxed out in the parks, mainly because you are there for enjoyment and also you can think clearer and you are less likely to make mistakes it have an accident. Let's both be safe out there😊👍
