I was born in America but my father is from Nigeria and he passed away when I was 21, I really do feel closer to my home by listening to Nigerian music. Hopefully this year I can visit Nigeria and meet my family for the first time in my life. I love dancing to Nigerian music....that's one thing my father taught me is how to dance.
@@851852093114208513 Either way, Egypt is still part of Africa. So when Yemi celebrates AFRICAN heritage, she can showcase Egyptian style too. Your comment makes no sense. What are you really mad about.
Selebobo's part is my favorite. I can't watch the video without rewinding his part at least 5 times. His verse and his dancing make me happy and smile :)
I am a born american with parents from the Caribbean and a fiance from Ghana. I have really embraced the African culture and music. you are one of my favorite female Nigerian artist right now Yemi

I only discovered Yemi Alade less than 10 minutes ago and I am already obsessed with her music. I have always loved African/Caribbean music. It makes me so happy.
I live in South Africa and have lived here all my life. Just found out a few months ago that my ancestors trace back to Yoruba. Nigeria, I'm so in love with This Nation... Music, Smarts and overall humility. Original Hebrew glory shines through Yoruba and Igbo people, you can just see it. Original Hebrew, Original People Of The Book. -Proud Yoruba ☺
+Tshepiso Modupe I swear I just saw you comment the same thing on another Yemi Alade video. Stop this Hebrew stuff, biko. It's not real life. It's romantic, and it's fantastic (in the sense of fantasy). Even if it were true, but evidentially unsupportable (notice I'm not even saying 'provable'), reason would *still* err on the side of disbelieving it lest we throw ourselves into perhaps the most heated ethnic identity in human history. Like, who has out-suffered the jews? And who is more of a flashpoint than they are? If you're gna persist in spreading this stuff on the internet, I will have to hold your feet to the fire and ask you to show what you've read, what are their sources, and who outside of their movement (cabal?) acknowledges the authenticity of their method. Africans labour under the weight of quite enough dearly-held myths, we need fewer--not more. That calling Yoruba & Igbo the 'original hebrew' could get 38 likes on a Yemi Alade video is worrisome, even after granting the Internet's affinity for shallowness. J'accuse, sis. lol no but really..
so after looking for johnny; fighting over johnny in the village you ran with him to the city Yemi...girl you baaad oh! great song. makes me smile every time. selebobo you are a great artist! your stage presence is awesome!
I found this when I searched tangerine recipe. haha Tangerine is in season in Korea. I don't understand what is she saying, but this song is really catchy and make my head go goosebumping!
2019 and this is still my fav YA song. The sound is a fussion of all of Africa; taking one back to the 80s to how melodious, rich, thick, juicy, authentic, powerful and beautiful African music was back then. But in fairness to Ms Alade, she's practically the hardest working woman in the Nigerian music scene. Maybe others are grinding but this lady here is fierce and unrelenting and her body of work is truly amazing. I wish her nothing but the best and may she get AAAAAALLLLLLLLLL the accolades she deserves cos this sisi don try! Chai! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
+Nobeliever Believer I'm African and I Listen to Puerto Rican Singers such as Daddy yankee and Ivy Queen :) and I share your concern about how much music have changed, it's pretty sad.
Black people are so Fucking Beautiful ! Imagine a world without us ? Exactly ! i'm serious trying to understand Our Beauty ! Love From Ah West Indian !!
Africans are not only beautiful but talented in soca music trinis should consider doing collaborations in soca music with Africans so as to take the music to the next level. Otherwise a nice video. keep it up.

I love it, please don´t change, Yermi, now you are unique but the music business is very dangerous because they want to market you as if you were a product without feelings or ethics, you are beautiful and you sing very well and you just have to follow your heart. If you become aware of something you don´t want, nobody can or should make you do what you don´t want to do. I am your fan from Venezuela.
I'm from the British Virgin Island and I'm in love with everything African. I just love Yemi. Her music is so captivating. I cant ever sit still when I hear them.
They're not African American. They are American. They have never been to Africa. They do not hold citizenship in an African nation. Stop trying to artificially divide us.
Joe Edwards, do a little research & you'll discover that she has been to the Sates several times, even shot music videos & commercials here. A lot of African celebrities travel back & forth to the U.S, London and other European countries on tour. They always return to base because they lack nothing there. Check out Nigerian celebrities cribs. P Square, Yemi & other celebrities
Omggg I love this song and I noticed tht her African outfits are always on pointtt!!!👌she's sooo pretty this song is about to be on replay all the time also gurl y u trying to be Katy perry in her dark horse video still love it
JustForYou♥ she's mixed? WTF is that? She is Nigerian. She just happened to be yoruba and igbo- there is no mixing. Let's leave those racist terms to Americans, we don't need that in our African society.
megatouch100 Umm I think you know what I meant. She is mixed with two different ethnic groups & since when did saying someone is mixed become racist??? Mixed=2 or more things combined...doesn't necessarily have to be RACE. You're the one thinking like an American & idk when "mixed" became a word that only Americans could use
+Yongue Tumoisito Could be either. I hear there are places in Haiti called Ibo Lele. Ibo Lele is an Ibo/Igbo god known for being too proud. So the Igbos in Haiti certainly didn't forget their roots.
+AfricancoolChic yes I know and they also have a song called ibo lele, you can look for it. I hear words like Dahomey, Ogun, Yoruba, Igbo a lot in Haiti. I am desperate to reconnect with mama Africa and my roots.
+Yongue Tumoisito Oh cool, didn't know that. You could do those DNA tests the African Americans do. They specifically tell you what tribe/ethnic group you are from. Very few are from just one tribe.
Yemi Alade your songs are so cool and me and my little sister keeping on singing all day long but we can't stop singing. I will give you a big fat thumbs up.
I love the bit in th video when he doesn't give up, gives a little leap in the air and heads off after the (current) girl of his dreams. Such playfulness
You definitely love Johnny i guess the other girls back out already love the music love the dress love the look the air and the beat nice beat selebobo keep on rocking
She has the best outfits! I'm Mexican and Guatemalan descent and we wear really colorful ethnic clothes as well. I love it! I would love a beautiful outfit from Africa!!

Hey there , i just got really curious .. what u mean by Original Hebrew ? :)
People of the book ?
+Tshepiso Modupe We all Black, we're ALL the Original People.
Very true. Modupe is a yoruba name. Yoruba, igbo, Akan, zulu, lemba are original Hebrew.
