I am watching each program as it comes on! I know most of this material--became a SDA 15 years ago! Reason: Because this denomination teaches what is in the Bible!! No made up rules no man-made doctrines. It is God's truth. The last church I was a member of really went down hill in their teachings, it as a Baptist church. I do not want to talk bad about my brothers and sisters in christ. I lost over 36 good friends in death over an 18 month period of time from that church! Our leadership was making some very bad unchristian decisions. It was very distressing to myself and my 36 friends who were very dedicated to God. Either by illness, or accident--they each suddenly died--I mean single people and elderly couples and young alike. I was attending about two funerals a month or better. I was shocked. I was also attending college full time and working full time and my own health was going down hill at the same time. A very rough period of time. I was very depressed. God brought me through that trying time--I lost my job--was fired for health reasons, I was forced to drop out of college for health reasons--I lost my income. My church actually sent me a bill for my tithe and my pledge for our building fund, claiming any of my employment benefits--while I was looking at being homeless, plus they decided I was not worth picking up for church for a ride anymore. They abandoned me! I started watching on TV "It is Written"--and answered their invitation to fill out a card to ask for visits to study the Bible in my home. Three weeks later a married couple, a doctor/nurse team too came to see me, and I was slowly dying too. My internal organs were bleeding and my own MD did not know why. After three months of personal Bible Study in my home, this couple figured out I had a severe gluten allergy. My health improved with the vegetarian food they were bringing me to eat! I also had tons of allergies. They asked my doctor to run tests. He did, this was the answer! I still had other problems, but those gradually improved and I did not die. After 10 months of private Bible study, I figured these people were either Jewish or SDA--and I wanted to hear my teacher speak at church on Sabbath--which of course I now knew was on Saturday. My parents thought I was joining a cult. I went to their church--turns out this was the place I saw in a vision at age 15 when I lay dying on the beach from hypothermia and my parents laid hands on me and Jesus saved my life. It was now some 20-25 years later and my vision came true! I also felt like I had come home! I have been attending every since. My point is this: I was baptised when I became a believer at age 10--at a Nazarene church my parents were members at--at that time, immersion baptism. Well, once I understood the truth about hell, and heaven, and about NO eternal security--and the truth about Salavation--the real truth--I felt as if I needed to renew my vows to God--and also be baptized again! I did. When I did it this time, I came up feeling like a brand new person. I am priviledged to say that my DAD and my sister both got re-baptized almost six years ago on New years eve at Hood View Seventh Day Adventist Church! I cried my eyes out--as they did too. By that time, my brother had also been rebaptized too on my birthday no less, Christmas Eve almost 5 years ago now. Sadly my mother passed away in 2018--however, my pastor did get to meet her and minister to her on her death bed. She had a lightbulb moment--suddenly she realized why I became an SDA-believer. She forgave me. I know she rests in the grave and that I will see her when Jesus comes again! I just had to share my testimony here, I felt the need. Baptism is important--the only brother who did not get re-baptized was Shannon--he has turned his back against our family. He needs a lot of prayer. He has not deliberately turned against God. He is mentally sick, has had his leg amputated is very physically sick and now in a nursing facility. He has banned me from seeing him, as he tried to run me over with his wheelchair knocking me to the floor. It was bad. For fear he might harm me, the staff has asked me not to see him. It hurts as I love my brother. His identical twin had to block his emails due to pornography Shannon sent to his brother. So his twin is very upset too. WE love Shannon, we do not know what to do. Any Christian who reads this: Please pray for our dear brother Shannon for his Salvation, for him to come back to Jesus and to realize that God does love him and that his family still loves him too. Right now all we do is pray for him, and hope one day he will allow us to come see him again. Any letters/cards we send him, he rips up and destroys so we have been asked to not write to him. Thanks for your programs: Pastor Doug, I write this from my own hospital bed at home. I feel very blessed as my sister sleeps in her own hospital bed in her bedroom. WE now have a caregiver that comes 44 hours a week to take care of us. Praise God, we do not have to go to a nursing home, we can still stay in our apartment. WE praise God everyday for our blessings. I am 61, my brothers are 59, my sister is 56, and our dear father is 83. he takes us to church. WE are so blessed to have our Dad. I prayed when I was 7 years old to have a loving kind Dad. God answered that prayer 50 years later. Dad started reading Ellen White's book: The Adventist Home. My Dad changed--he apologized to each of his children for being too much of a disciplinarian, and not loving us enough. He is kind, tenderhearted and would lay his life down for us. It is unbelievable how different he is now. All of us love him so much! I treasure each day I have with my Dad. I spend Sabbath and Wednesdays with him. God healed our family. Our healing touched us so that we could share with our Uncles and Aunts and cousins HIS love, and has healed them too. It is beautiful! God is awesome! Blessings to you and to your family and to everyone! God hears prayers and God answers prayers! Blessings from Michelle Reed, Gresham oregon USA
