    ALFAMA
Begin your exploration in Alfama, the charming old town untouched by the 1755 earthquake. Stroll along its steep, cobblestone streets, and hop on Tram 28 for an authentic experience. Don't forget to savor an epic brunch at Tasca Baldracca, indulging in local specialties like grilled octopus and veal cheeks.
No visit to Lisbon is complete without seeing the National Pantheon, showcasing stunning marble work and offering exceptional rooftop views of Alfama. For panoramic vistas, head to Saint-George Castle, the city's highest point, or explore the best free viewpoints.
    BAIRRO ALTO
In Bairro Alto, the upper town, revel in its abundance of restaurants and nightlife options, starting with Cevicheria for fresh ceviche and unique octopus decor. Be cautious of unexpected charges for free starters. Try Casa da India for famous piri-piri chicken, a spicy delight. Another highlight is arroz de marisco, a seafood rice dish reminiscent of Spanish paella. Be sure to savor Portuguese grilled sardines and the famous bifana, a pork sandwich at O Trevo.
    BAIXA
The Baixa district, Lisbon's lower town, offers historical sites like Commerce Square and the Rua Augusta Arch. Wander along the scenic Lisbon waterfront, where you'll spot the massive statue of Christ the King. Indulge in Portuguese cod cakes, but ensure they're fresh. Rossio Square, locally known as Praca Dom Pedro the IV, features beautiful fountains and the statue of King Pedro the IV. Nearby, explore the intriguing sardine shop, Mundo Fantastico da Sardinha Portuguesa.
Before embarking on your Lisbon adventure, acquire the Lisbon Card, which offers savings on attractions and transportation. With options starting at just $23, this card enhances your experience in this captivating city.

Dive into the mysteries of Quinta da Regaleira, with its mystical Initiation Well and lush green surroundings. Conclude your day at Cabo da Roca, mainland Europe's westernmost point, where you can witness the dramatic clash of land and sea.
In conclusion, Lisbon's charm, rich culture, and diverse experiences await. Lace up your shoes, grab your Lisbon Card, and embark on a remarkable journey through this enchanting city. Lisbon calls, and its magic is yours to explore.

    • @gtagide

@@Reformatt , Porto is not a big city but very hilly.
My advise is use the public transports to go up, and get down by walk. A day ticket cost 7 euros and a 3 day ticket 15.
My favoritos places are Ribeira, Barredo and Miragaia near the river, they are all conected so its easy to see in one morning, cross the D.Luiz brigde to the other side, the city of Gaia and see Porto is all this glory.
The cathedral is amazing, the Santa Clara church, the Batalha area, the São Bento train station, the Clérigos tower, the romanic Cedofeita church, the Lapa church.
U have two beautiful places to see but one is too croweded, Lello library, and São Francisco church u pay too much and u cant take photos or movies (but the church is awsome).
Other tips: take the bus 500 that goes along all the river Douro to the sea, and in the end U have the beautiful santuary of Matosinhos, a huge and marvelous gold church and its free and u can take pictures.
Palácio de Cristal gardens are very relaxed. Go to the monestery of Pilar on Gaia and see the sunset.
If u can take a train (about 20 minutes) and go see the Miramar beach on Gaia, with a chapel on the top of the rocks in the beach.
In the Porto area u have several old monesteries, i love all but the most acessible are the Águas Santas (bus 705), and the very historical and huge Leça do Balio (bus 505).
Too eat there are two places that i allways go, to eat Francesinha the Santa Francesinha in Poveiros square, behind the Batalha church, and the chicken In Pedro dos Frangos near the Coliseu theater. For fish go to Matosinhos restaurant area, they have a big fishing port with lots of fresh fish.
After Matosinhos u have the chique and beautiful village of Leça da Palmeira (bus 507) enjoy the huge beach.
If u have time the trains can take u to Santo Tirso (huge monestery of São Bento), Aveiro (call the portuguese Venice, there u can take the Moliceiros Boats and see the chanels, and eat the marvelous soft egs), Braga the capital of cristianism of Portugal, Guimarães the first capital of Portugal, Barcelos the capital of handicraft, and the most marvelous trip of train on Portugal, the Douro river (but will take all day).
Sorry the huge text lol. 😀

    A few constructive corrections:
6:18 - Authentic? Nope, the real "Pastéis de Bacalhau" don't have cheese in them. These are just a pretentious, wannabe-gourmet version.
10:00 - You were in Lisbon, Portugal and you decided to go eat a south american dish?
10:50 - Our Seafood Rice is neither a soup nor a version of the spanish paella.
12:41 - Those were not crackers, they were toasted bread slices. Why use industrial "bread" when we can just toast slices of delicious real bread?
18:56 - The country's official international name is Cabo Verde since 2014. Just like Czechia is no longer The Czech Republic or Türkiye is no longer Turkey.
20:07 - Your mistake here was including the Pastéis de Belém in a top 5 list of the best Pastéis de Nata in Lisbon. They're not the original Pastéis de Nata, their secret recipe makes them unique, exclusive and trademarked. The Pastéis de Nata were created somewhere else, anyone can make them the way they want and you can compare between them to decide which one is the best. The Pastéis de Belém shouldn't even be in that list because there's nothing else to compare them with.

Thanks for the great feedback! I truly appreciate it.
      1. A Cevicheria, was simply added for it being a very unique looking restaurant, good dishes though
      2. Yes, I agree with you. Although, I think the best way I could describe Arrosz de Marisco, is comparing it to a seafood rice porridge, or a soup version of paella, something in the middle. I love it though, it is a fantastic dish 🤩
      3. Yes, you are correct, those weren't crackers but toasts 😉
      4. Thanks for the correction, I wasn't aware Cape Verde changed their name to Cabo Verde (is this official yet in the English language as well?)
      5. Indeed, they are not exactly the same, but if I had to rate all the Lisbon Pastéis (egg tarts), Pastéis de Belém would not make it high on the list. Basically, letting other travelers know not to miss out on the other excellent Pastéis in Lisbon
Thanks again for watching the video and providing solid feedback 👍

      2. The only similarities between the Arroz de Marisco and the Paella are the rice and the seafood. The Paella is drier, has meat and vegetables (none of which are in the Arroz de Marisco) and it's cooked differently. 🙂
      4. They didn't change the name, it has always been called Cabo Verde since the inhabited archipelago was discovered and populated by the portuguese explorers in the mid 15th century. What happened in 2014 was that by a UN decision based on the request of the caboverdiano government, the country's name should no longer be translated in any language.
