Chi miigwitch for dancing in that healing dress . I dance jingle dress too. Makes me feel and helps others. Keep dancing and stay safe..Have a good day bless you NIIGANA EQUAY
I'm going to start dancing again this year. I'm going to do what my grandmother always wanted me to do. And that's old style jingle my Grandmother always loved to watch old style jingle and in memory of her that's exactly what I'm going to do. I'm not dancing for money I'm dancing to have fun and enjoy myself.
Being an old styler myself as well, I agree with all of you when you say it makes you proud to dance this particular style of dress. I teared up when I first saw this when the Elderly lady's really getting it. Makes me proud and hopeful to be the same way one day!
As you; I am very proud and I cannot find anything else better than your beautiful dances, dresses and traditions. America should feel lucky to have you performing as you are doing through these few videos and we should preserve the traditions of the Natives Americans as part of this country roots and traditions among the many others from all the people in this country from all over the world because America is lucky to have the vast diversity that it does & I hope God'll help us to preserve it
Love the vid. The elder on the end, much respect! Made me tear up and don't know who she is but makes you wish you knew the older generation and their stories and their life. I was born to late, to be asking mine. Its just the cards that were dealt. Much respect to you all who have the knowledge, stories, life. :)
I was raised from a small child in a jingle dress, I'm going to dance to day actually. But when i watch these videos i can help but let my feet fall in step with these women. This is a beautiful example of what Jingle Dress is about and how it is danced. I also love the apperication that the speaker has shown the Old Style dancers, because they are like he said often disrespected. Proud to be a native & proud to see goo skills
yes, now adays, the jingle dress is overly danced and dressed, if your going to dance fancy and dress fancy go to fancy dance. Maggie White bought this dance in to the circle for a reason, to dance and heal, not win and have the most fancest dress out there. The announcer hit it on the nail.
At my highschool in Canada Ontario, we have one day that the aboriginal students have a powwow in the gym of highschool. The cooking class makes bannock and wild rice soup for the powwow at lunch! Any students/ people are allowed, to show everyone our culture. We would let the “white” and other students in the crowd come up and try dance like us, we had one person represent every dance style. One jingle, one Shaw, etc... and they got a prize for whoever did it best. I really liked that. Some whites really show the interest. I wouldn’t be brave enough to go up in front of a bunch of people and dance a traditional style I didn’t know. Props to my town, my school , but most of all my country💕🇨🇦
howah cha mii qwetch for showing this video..i really love the ole style of jingle dress dancing!!It also brought tears to my eyes to see the elder dancing and having fun!!
I'm honored to watch this!!! I'm an Italian-American born and raised in New York City, but it shames me to think I've never had a Native American as a classmate or workmate. Thank you for this post! !!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep culture alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yahweh bless these are sacred dances, that should be known for its healing & not for any competition. It is a delight to see my native American people doing what we luv! Dancing is part of our beautiful culture amen ❤
i agree with what this elder has to say i respect that these women kept the tradion goin with how the jingle dress dance is a healing dance an should be well respected :)
I love that the unci came out to show how it was done. She definitely has the beat down. Makes me proud to come back into to the circle after being gone for 7 years. Ill be praying the whole time mitakuye oyasin.
Louie Paul yes there is old style jingle and contemporary jingle, don’t disrespect either styles by choosing to dismiss one style, if your gonna “try” to speak about the jingle dress, learn the teachings first and review the different styles
Breathtaking! Thankful that this culture has been passed down and is carried on in such a traditional way. I personally love the older style. Just admire the grace and movement without a lot of glitz and glamour. Just pure fascination

The first pow wow I attended, I was offered a shawl; a little girl's elder told her to bring me one. It's an unforgettable experience, the feelings watching the others dance as we circled the arena during the intertribal. Brings tears as I write. THIS dance you posted is a beautiful sight to see.... gracefull healthfull. Thank you. ✨🤲💮✨

The 365 Cones are for my Late Grandmother Charlottes Skead. She was the original reciepant of this sacred dress. She lived in Wauzhushk Onigum Anishinaabe Nation.
@kjpheasant my great grandmother used to use arm movements when she couldnt go any more, she'd dance all night and with a little help from the arms she'd keep going...I do them only when i'm tired just as tradition :D
Chi miigwitch for dancing in that healing dress . I dance jingle dress too. Makes me feel and helps others. Keep dancing and stay safe..Have a good day bless you

I'm going to start dancing again this year. I'm going to do what my grandmother always wanted me to do. Absolutely beautiful. The elder kept up with the girls and enjoyed herself.
My mom's dress she made by hand took 3 years to make. Jingles my uncle made took 3 years. Still got her dress!
Pow Wows have changed through out the years, so it's nice to see good ol traditional dancing.. Native Pride Forever no one can change that!
Being an old styler myself as well, I agree with all of you when you say it makes you proud to dance this particular style of dress. I teared up when I first saw this when the Elderly lady's really getting it. Makes me proud and hopeful to be the same way one day!
