I think this girl did a great job. Plain narrative, good articulation, and attractive without being obvious. I have recently bought this cooker and found the information and visuals were excellent. On a parallel note, spray the cooker with white vinegar, let sit for twenty minutes, and THEN wash it. Should take care of both the smell AND the marks. Cheers!
PPC XL is the best appliance I have ever bought....hands down! A little common sense is needed to use it. Experiment with your own recipes. This pot is simply AMAZING! I have found their customer service to be quite good, my brother bought his at a retail store, I bought mine via the infomercial. My brother's inner pot seemed to be a thinner metal, his pot discolored--he called customer service and they sent him a new pot. I have used mine almost daily with no problems with discoloration. As for the "loose" steam release--that is a very nice feature, a little touch and steam is released. If it were harder to move there is a much higher chance of being burned in the process. I haven't cooked a whole frozen chicken because of the thickness, however I have cooked legs and thighs that were frozen together and in 20 min plus the 10 min to pressurize, have served fall off the bone perfectly cooked chicken. Love my cooker!
I'm not sure how you could have a negative review of this pressure cooker. I got mine almost a year ago and it is the best thing I've ever purchased. It makes the best pasta you could ever eat, perfect consistency and it really does pound the pasta with flavor. When making meat it comes out tender and juicy every time. Unlike this video it doesn't take a genius to figure out how to saute, if you've ever seen the infomercial you know it does that and I'm guessing 99% of people who have purchased one of these has seen the infomercial. Also unlike this video it does not take 17-20 minutes to come up to pressure. The only time it takes that long is if you put anything frozen in it with little liquid like frozen chicken wings with bbq sauce. Other than that it takes maybe 7-10 minutes to pressurize anything not frozen. This is a lengthy review but this machine really is awesome and I've probably sold 8 of these since I got mine because I talk about it so much.
I've had my Power Pressure Cooker XL for 5 years and none of the bad claims that people are talking about is true for me! I've had no problems with mine. I love it and use it regularly!!!😀😁🤣😃
Years ago I used an older Stovetop style 8 quart Presto Pressure cooker that I bought at Lechmere back in the early 1980,s. As with anything that you have not used before, it takes experience to develop a technique. When I saw this advertised, I bought the 10 Quart. I simply had to have one because I know that even the cheaper priced cuts of meat can come out tender in a P Cooker. I will be cooking a 4.7 lb pork roast in it today, and will let you know how it turns out.
I bought mine 3 years ago and it's still going strong and I love it. I watch the videos of recipes. The only complaint I have is the insert non stick surface is wearing off and I have to spray it to keep food from sticking when browning. I think the instant pot might have a better insert pan, but my ppcxl cooks very well.
I bought mine when it first come out 3 or 4 years ago...loved it until it just died. I called the company and I would rate there customer service an A+. I will be getting a new upgraded model for $25 plus the shipping cost to return the old one which was 17.80. So for under $43 I get a new one. My only concern is I think they changed the pressure release value. I liked the old one that was in front top of lid and it slid away from you while steam was in back top of lid. I have not recieved it yet but it has only been 5 days. I feel like I lost my right arm. I had to remember how to make rice and hard boiled eggs the old pot and pan way.
I own 2 Wolfgang Puck pressure cookers with the dial instead of the digital timer. You just turn the dial and wait for the heat to come up to temperature to start searing. The pressure only builds when you put on the lid - much simpler solution. I've owned them for over 5 years and use them both quite often for meals that traditionally come have a lot of liquid - stews, chicken soup, pot roast, etc. I love the machines. They cook these meals in 1/3 of the time. I highly recommend pressure cookers.
I just got my wolfgang 5 quart 2 days ago so I decided to try a meatloaf. Wow is all I can say it was up to pressure in 6 minutes & set the timer at 15 minutes & meat loaf came out perfect & the flavor was fantastic. I am impressed with this so far. After prep meatloaf done on the plate in less then 25 minutes. Normally you pre-heat a oven for 15 minutes then another hour in the oven. Just saved 50 minutes total & to me it taste better then in my meatloaf pan.
53patsfan I may suggest which ever one you get 5quart or 8 quart get the stainless steel insert with it. It is well worth the money. After I got my 5 quart & used it a few times decided to get the stainless steel insert & it does make a difference. Love it. So far in the few weeks I have had it made a pasta with shrimp & veggies,Meatloaf several times, beef stew several times,Pot roast,Rice Fliese & right at this moment doing a mystic bbq pork loin with veggies. So far all the meals have come out amazing. The rice Fliese I have to tweek it rice was not cooked completely but the flavor was outstanding.
Ok just got done eating the pork loin & it was fantastic. Moist & so tender you did not need a knife to cut it. This pressure cooker is amazing. (wolfgang puck 5 quart)
I enjoyed the review, I have only used it a few times. As you said, it is hit and miss. My biggest hurdle is knowing whether or not the pressure is building. I sauteed in it for about 30 minutes, then added the rest of my ingredients. It seemed to cook everything thoroughly, but the pressure never set, or at least, never released. I immediately tried some rice in it afterward, and it was perfect. I also wanted to add that it is bad with spaghetti, as you need to be able to stir longer pastas, but excellent for farfalle or perhaps penne. Thank you for your helpful insight!
I bought a PPCXL through Amazon, I love it, I've made the BBQ wings, Chicken and dumplings, Pulled pork, several pasta dishes. I've browned ground beef and meatballs, chicken and pork chops, sautéed onions and garlic with the ground beef with no problem. Depending on the food you can use ant of the settings to do the sauté, I use the chicken meat for browning though. I love it because it's easy to experiment with 1 pot cooking for integrated meals. All the pork, chicken and beef has come out moist and perfectly cooked full of flavor of the herbs and spices, sauces etc... I do like keg your review it seemed well balanced and I agree with you that using this product takes practice. I've not had any of the pressure valve issues, it seals just fine when the arrows are aligned and I like that it's loose for release, easy to turn when it's time to quick release, I use a cooking spoon or tongs. But the steam gets distributed out of the vent and is only dangerous at the exit point, its warm about 8 inches above the valve. There are things I think could be improved, like a pressure readout and a manual setting to allow setting shorter times for things like soft boiled eggs. But I'm very happy with it as it is for now. I will look into the Pro version though. I tend to agree with some observations that the problems may be with defective cookers and also a bit of inexperience with this type of pressure cooker.
I almost returned this product because of your review. If you look at the reviews on amazon it is not 2.5. I decided to try it before I did because who would put a frozen chicken in the pot as you did. By the way a frozen chickens skin would not move as your video displayed. I urge everyone watching this to rethink before they take her word for it. Just because someone uses big words doesn't mean they can cook. I have used this and all my food comes out perfect! Ive never had any problems she's suggesting.
THANK GOD I READ YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT THE PRESSURE COOKER XL.I GOT IT TODAY , AND WHEN I SAW THE VIDEO REALLY SAID WHOLLY SH......T I MADE A MISTAKE. BUT NOW THANKS TO YOU I AM GOING TO KEEP IT. I WILL NEVER PUT TO A FROZEN BIRD ON THE P. C....NEVER. THANKS AGAIN.
@@carlosbonilla6576 I'm happy to see other opinions, for sure! I used to have an old, heavy PC from the 50s, I think. I loved it! Eventually the seal wouldn't hold the pressure anymore and my hubby got us a new one. It was nothing like My old one with an on/off switch...nothing else. I wanted to see some ratings and tips, but this video scared me! I was so sad that we got a bad one. But after reading what you wrote and some others, I feel so much better and I'm excited to try it again! Thank you so much!
I buy one power pressure cooker XL, in Brandsmart USA is the best ! 🙌 My food now is perfect flavor and my family is happy. 😍 Only not coming the instructions in others idioms and we need ( Spanish) 🤔
How come you didn't add any water or liquid to the frozen whole chicken? Aren't you always suppose to put in a cup or two of liquid? That's what makes the pressure.
This was a present recently. I see the same issues. Think the machine can be used to brown meats or other before cooking during the 'warm-up' period (maybe on any setting) for pressurizing before adding other ingredients and twisting the lid & pressure setting. My kids thought it would be faster & easier than my stove-top Presto Pressure Cooker, but I'm not convinced. Basically pressure cookers do some things really well. Some things I like better with the usual cooking methods. Time isn't the only consideration. Note that this cooker is too big for the cabinets and takes up a lot of counter space. I don't think the materials in this cooker are as substantial as those in my much older Presto. It does cook very quickly and very well for some things I've tried so far like quinoa.
Bought a Presto stainless steel stove top pressure cooker and love it! I figure if I want the conveniences of electric; I could just get an induction burner for it.
I Have this pressure cooker for a few years. I would never cook chicken in it!!! cooks rice well but i use is mostly for beef stew or borsche . I agree controls need an update but once you figure out the code its pretty simple. I dont know if i would buy the same one again but i love having a pressure cooker
Storing the pressure cooker lid upside down on top of the cooker helps get rid the odors of the foods you are cooking. For me it was spaghetti. I had a hard time determining low, medium and high. I’m assuming the meat button is high, the rice, vegetable, and bean temp is medium and slow cooker is low. Any corrections would be appreciated.
I have to agree with the issue of the pressure valve way to loose for closing or opening, and I really did almost burn myself the first time that I used it. I do think that if you loose your cookbook you are not going to know how to use or judge how the ppc works as far as the items that are being cooked, such as chicken but use another setting for the best results. I probably would buy an updated model but not at this time. I would like to see more of what this one can do.
where your button says select timer, mine says saute. its the same except for that button. I have had mine for over 7 years and I can make anything in it.I have never used the canning function ,yet.
I have had mine for just over a year, I have had a mostly positive experience, but twice in the past few months I have cooked steak in a cast iron skillet while my vegetables were cooking in the pot. After my steaks were done and I’d called my guests to the table, the top wouldn’t come off for almost 45 minutes, I clean it thoroughly after each use, and I was so disappointed and thoroughly embarrassed having to serve my hungry guests a bare steak. I’m in the market for a new brand today.
I love your reviews. They are thorough and very informative. I am so excited to find this channel! I have one request please test the Instant Pot IP-LUX60 6-in-1 6-Quart Programmable Pressure Cooker or the 7-in-1 option and CooksEssentials 6 qt. Round Digital Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker. To help consumers purchase a quality electric pressure cooker.
I used to have a 6 quart presto electric pressure cooker. It had actual temperature settings. It was great but I no longer have it, if I was going to buy another pressure cooker, I'd get another one like that.
Mixed review here. Received one for Christmas a few years ago. Does a good job. My problem came when the non stick coating started coming off!! I dont think this is healthy!!l. I decided that I wanted a stainless steel inner pot like the kind that comes with instapots. So I called the company and told them what I wanted they said yes they do have that. I asked are they certain? I do not want a pot like the kind that came with my cooker. Put me on hold and then came back and said he just double-checked that yes it is a stainless steel pot with aluminum bottom. that sounded like what I wanted. well it arrived and it is the same pot as the first one!!! they do advertise free refund within 60 days . I called the company customer service and although the gentleman was very nice again he told me the shipping was on me . I told them they did not send me what they said they had. I told him the company is in the wrong and they can go back and listen to the recorded conversation if they wanted. He basically said too bad. He said what they sent me was all they have not stainless steel. So why did they lie to me?? He couldnt answer me. I returned the pot with the label he sent. $28. I included a letter explaining how this was their error and I look forward to my refund of $28 for shipping. I'll keep you posted!!
You did an amazing review. I found that the product performed very similar to your observations. You stayed objective in your statements. Keep up the good work you are an extreme natural in front of a camera.
I really wanted this particular pressure cooker until I saw your review. So glad I did. I'll buy another brand. I have a couple of other brands that I like, but they are only 4 qts and 6qts. I was just looking for a larger one. I bought the Elite brand pressure cooker and it died after 3 times of using it. No refund or anything. Was out all that money. Don't want to go through that again, so thank you.
I use mine occasionally. Does it work,? yes. I was curious as to the advantage over my other pressure cookers. If you want a pressure cooker you can set and walk away these new types are for the person who does not cook much and wants convenience. Basically so you don't have to think. I have used a stove top pressure cooker for over 50 years and prefer them. All pressure cookers take around 20 minutes to come to pressure. The water has to turn to steam to pressurize. You are not going to get roasted chicken or any othe r meat in a pressure cooker. You will get pressure cooked chicken or meat. Not bad, but not oven roasted. Soups and stews so quick and easy. Its another tool in the kitchen. For ease of use and convenience go for it. But you can buy stove top pressure cookers many times brand new as well as used at garage sales for less than ten dollars. Older ones for a buck or two. I have everything from Faberware to sears, mirro and presto, all from garage sales. They all work great. New rings can be bought on Amazon or most hardware stores. Take a five dollar bill and go to a garage sale. Pressure cooking-I love it as a fast way to make a great healthy meal.
I sauté on the chicken \meat mode but it starts counting down before I finish sautéing . I wont let e turn it forward to start a new countdown. i have to unplug it and wait a few notes. What a I doing wrong???😢
I used my power pressure cooker last night and he kept flashing lid and beeping. I just kept trying to get it to work. Looked online and TH-cam for some help. Found nothing that helped. With my persistence I got it to work. My ribs came out great. Just wanna know what it means and how to fix it the next time, without wasting my time. Any help will be appreciated.
mine is doing the same thing the minutine i hit the medium button the lid pops up and i have checked everything to make sure that the seal is good and it is, this is the first time i have used this.
I agree with that I was not successful with the mac n cheese or penne recipe. Worst clean up. That pot is NOT a non stick at all. The smell stays never goes away. The valve writing washes off and I can't tell now about the setting.
Thank You you saved me from buying this. I just wanted an easy way to make quick meals, this is not what it claims to be, it would be on my shelf with my rice cooker, and other quick cook gimmicks rarely get used. THANKS
I just got my brand new Power Pressure Cooker XL and it did not work. I plugged it in and immediately blown my fuse in my house. And I have nobody to contact. And the Customer Service center do not reply. This is a lot of money and I do not have a way to fix this
Seems to be an unfair review. Watched several other videos on You Tube and Elga doesn't seem to cook correctly. Looking so forward to getting our cooker. Busy woman and needed help. This seems to offer it easily. Will update as soon as I've received and cooked something.
Major complaints ... Nonstick pot peels off and parts missing. All info commercials have poor customer service and you should never buy anything from them. They are all JUNK concerning product sold on info commercials! Get one with all steel pot.Check amazon reviews. At this moment it has a 4.1 star rating. BUT ... only 57% of the buyers gave it a 5-star rating ... most likely after 1 use! Instant POT 8 qt. 84% gave it a 5-star rating! Look at the complaints! Do the research before you buy! I got the Instant Pot 8 qt. for about the same price. Better device and better quality! Chicken coming out of any pressure cooker is not going to look like it's roasted! Something not right ... why would you put a whole frozen chicken and cook on a vegetable stew? How many minutes 1st try ... min total? What no poultry or manual setting? In my Instant Pot, a whole frozen chicken 5lbs (trussed) came out great right at 165 degrees for 50 min. Juicy and falling off the bone. Threw in a broiler for 5 min on each side ... now it looks roasted and tastes great! Thumbs up on review and I will subscribe! You confirmed I choose wisely!
Thank you for wonderful review, seems like idea and engineering it's not bad, but the quality of this product it's very poor like most of the product made in China , I won't buy it thank you
I watched a lot of his videos actually! I think a lot of it has to do with experimenting and trying different options with this pressure cooker. The more you use it, the more comfortable you'll be.
Got one at goodwill today for 13 bucks out the door. It looks like it was use once half way cleaned and took to the goodwill . No more cooking bean all day !!!!!

Thanks so much! Glad this was helpful! :)
Sorry about your experience but I'm glad you found this helpful!
I have had my Pressure cooker XL for over a year and love it. I do think the inner pot needs to be upgraded . Other than that I have no complaints.
0:21, Bad Bath and Beyond.... Nice.... GREAT video, by the way.....:) I bought one.... THANK YOU!
haha! Pardon the accent. :) Glad you enjoyed the video!
hahahaha.... i loved it!!!
I sauté on the chicken \meat mode but it starts counting down before I finish sautéing . I wont let e turn it forward to start a new countdown. i have to unplug it and wait a few notes. What a I doing wrong???😢
steam is coming out of the top of the handle that has a little hole on top is that okay
I can't get the lid on
I agree with that I was not successful with the mac n cheese or penne recipe. Worst clean up. That pot is NOT a non stick at all. The smell stays never goes away. The valve writing washes off and I can't tell now about the setting.
Best review about this product I've seen. Most others are either gimmicky, dumb or useless.
Thank You you saved me from buying this. I just wanted an easy way to make quick meals, this is not what it claims to be, it would be on my shelf with my rice cooker, and other quick cook gimmicks rarely get used. THANKS
Steam cut lemons to remove smell
I just got my brand new Power Pressure Cooker XL and it did not work.
I plugged it in and immediately blown my fuse in my house.
And I have nobody to contact. And the Customer Service center do not reply. This is a lot of money and I do not have a way to fix this
how to pressure cooker hard boiled eggs
Can't figure out how to close the lid used it once it was fine now can't do it
jason McCallum mine either!! did you get it figured out?
Excellent review, BUT the music in the back ground drove me NUTS!! Get something softer!
Excellent video
I also have mixed feelings. Sometimes I'm happy with what I make. Other times I'm disappointed. Mine didn't come with a cook book.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing though! :)
Seems to be an unfair review. Watched several other videos on You Tube and Elga doesn't seem to cook correctly. Looking so forward to getting our cooker. Busy woman and needed help. This seems to offer it easily. Will update as soon as I've received and cooked something.
Ορεα είναι πόσο κανη και πώς θά την παραγκιλο
What does the E3 mean? I keep getting that. All the liquid comes out and it burns my food. I want to contact the company, please send me a phone no.

Same problem with the inner pot👎
I love my Instant Pot! So glad I got that instead of this one.
Not what thay say very on happy and cost So much

you obviously can't read the instruction book.I love mine and havent had your problems .
I quit using mine because meat doesn’t cook well.
Thank you for wonderful review, seems like idea and engineering it's not bad, but the quality of this product it's very poor like most of the product made in China , I won't buy it thank you
Smitten
I bought this cooker and people Stay Away! I got to use it 2 times and it died! No wonder there are so many customer service complaints!
Buy at Costco and save box and manual. They will take it back

You need to watch the Justin Donnelly instructional videos before testing. You did a lot wrong, causing most of your issues.
I watched a lot of his videos actually! I think a lot of it has to do with experimenting and trying different options with this pressure cooker. The more you use it, the more comfortable you'll be.
Justin Donnelly hahaha his out of date soul patch is soooo 1960s...far out man. He needs to shave that goofy looking thing off.
true steam is hot I knew that still made me jump
Very true!
the power pressure 8qt xl now has a saute button. watch this video to see how he sautes th-cam.com/video/UsYE9e4nQLs/w-d-xo.html
