    Hi, how do you get gspro into a putting practice mode ?

    • @rcperkjr
      @rcperkjr  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There isnt really a "putting mode" dedicated practice. You can however practice on any green you would like on any course you would like. Simply load up into "On Course" practice, select a course and from there place the ball on the green. You can select any hole you would like, and place the ball anywhere on the green. From there, you can practice practice practice all the putting you like from there. I hope that makes sense. Maybe I should do a video on that alone. What do you think?

    just curious why there is no 3 foot gimmie option.

      Not 100% sure to be honest. Good question

    The chart with distance and speed is that a feature you can access in gspro or just for testers? And one more question if I have a putting mat with a stimp of 8 how does that work if most of the stimps in sgt comps are 10 and over? I'm guessing just have to hit ball 4ft on a 7ft putting mat, any help appreciated ta

    • @rcperkjr
      @rcperkjr  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there is a special version for a small testing team. As for your Matt and in game. Best to go to the practice green that is flat, hit a 10 foot putt and make it. See how far it actually rolled on your Matt. Then from there use that as your gauge when hitting putts.

    You mentioned “keying in” a putt. I’m assuming you are using your keyboard. If so how are you doing this? Love your videos.

    • @rcperkjr
      @rcperkjr  ปีที่แล้ว

      A small group of beta testers that work with the Devs have a different version of "Connect" that allows us to key in shots with our keyboard. This allows us to test courses, recreate shots that are reported as bugs, etc. Not available to the public and only a very small group (maybe 8) have access to it. Thanks for watching and glad you are enjoying the videos. If you have any ideas for content or a video you think would help you, then send me a message and I will get to work on it :)

    Once again your video has been very informative. So I should add or subtract 1 foot per inch of slope both uphill and downhill? Thanks for the help.

      As a general rule, that is what I do on 11 Stimp. It gets me close enough for guess work :)

    Is this the only flat green in GSPRO software?

    • @rcperkjr
      @rcperkjr  ปีที่แล้ว

      Night Range also has perfectly flat greens

    Wow super helpful 👏 So many things I didn't know. So once u set ur BLI in practice mode it stays there after every shot!? 🤯

    • @rcperkjr
      @rcperkjr  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes for that shot. One of the features of practice mode so you dont have to keep aiming at the same place over and over again, can concentrate on your shot.

    Why did that 3.8 mph putt drop from 10'?

    • @rcperkjr
      @rcperkjr  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you notice, it barely fell into the front of the cup. There is a range of how slow you can get away with and how fast you can get away with. I was trying to demonstrate that range and that you can get 'lucky' and one will fall in at a slower speed, verses the optimal 4mph shot needed. Keep in mind that if there had been even the slightest of uphill to that putt it would have come up short.

    Is there an option for straight putting? For instance I don’t want to set the break. Something like trackman does where I only need to hit the put the correct speed?
    Also where would we find the stimp/speed/distance table? Is it on Discord?

    • @rcperkjr
      @rcperkjr  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, there is no force a straight putt option.

  • @paulmcmahon99
    @paulmcmahon99 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Unfortunately, I do think the GSPRO flat putt distance vs speed chart is not correct: Stimp is defined as the number of feet a putt rolls on a flat green when launched at 6 ft/s (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stimpmeter#Description). That equates to 4.09 mph. If you look at the GSPRO table, under stimp 10, you see 4mph gives 9ft and 4.5mph gives 11.4ft. If you interpolate those to 4.09 mph, you get 9.4 ft, instead of exactly 10ft.

      thank you for that information and feedback. I will pass that along to the programers.

    Great video Ralph! How did you send the speed into GSPro via keyboard entry?

    • @rcperkjr
      @rcperkjr  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can’t, it is only available as a special testing method to a very tiny group.

    • @rcperkjr
      @rcperkjr  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can play in mouse mode.

      @@rcperkjr Thanks - I had already done that. What I did was hit a bunch of putts on the flat green you suggested, which is 30' wide, then exported the data to excel to see how far the ball went based on ball speed, same idea as creating your table. What's interesting is that your numbers don't quite line up with mine. For example, you have Stimp 12 ball speed 5.5 resulting in a 19.2 foot putt holed, and when I hit a 5.50 mph foot putt it travels 20.55 feet before it stops. I guess you could say that your 5.5 mph would go 1.35 feet past the hole if it misses, do you think that's the right way to look at it? And my method says that 5.37 MPH would go over 19.2 feet, so...was your table made with "hunt and peck?" Why not make a table that shows total roll by speed and people can decide how much they'd like it to roll past the hole? Sorry, another question - your table goes to over 100 feet, but the Night green is only 30' wide, so how could I possibly practice flat putts of that distance, and how did you get the data? Thanks.

    • @rcperkjr
      @rcperkjr  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joeslatt The data is not mine, it is (don't quote me on this) a result of 100's of putts on real outside greens and used in or part of the physics in GSPro. There might be other tables that are newer than these.
      I am super excited to hear that you did do some putting on your own setup, your mat, your balls, your space. I figured that these numbers in the table may vary from launch monitor to launch monitor for sure. I can certainly tell a difference between when I had a Quad and now my XO.
      The table used is not mine and is certainly not gospel but it is generally accepted in the GSPro community to be somewhat accurate and a good baseline for understanding putting in the game.
      I can NOT thank you enough for your valuable feedback. This is the kind of discussions we should be having about putting verses the no data "putting sucks" "its not real" "its too hard" "its too easy" "why cant it be like x y z" blah blah blah. This is the very content we all look to have in GSPro. We always say just go out and practice on a flat green and get a good feel for putting .... THANK YOU for watching and responding!!!

    Quick question for you - forgive me I didn't have the time to watch the entire video is putting difficulty covered? I notice the lip outs are nasty on normal putting mode and if I go to easy putting mode it just is a lot more enjoyable. Does easy putting mode impact the speed / line of the putt to also be more forgiving, or does it just impact the lip out potential?

    • @rcperkjr
      @rcperkjr  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 'gobbler' effect of the cup is more forgiving all the way around in how the ball is gobbeled.

    The videos are very informative, only issue is the intro is way too long.

      I have recently shortened it considerably as a result of feedback just like this. My newer videos have the new, shorter intro. Thanks for the feedback, it is appreciated and heard for sure.

    You are missing a key component of golf game and that ball, cup physics as not all balls hit at those speeds are going to to bounce over cup. I’ve been playing golf for 35 years, college as well and can stare the gravitation pull 9.8 m/s2 is definitely missing and needs to be applied to each song de of the cup. The balls don’t roll this fast even in stumps of 13 and those are facts. I hate to see how players of sim golf go out and play IRL, they’ll suck. All puts, chips, etc are going to come up short. Also downhill and uphill putts, shots need to take into account laws of physics, one main thing is gravity as mentioned above. With all the money gspro is making, do the people a favor and hire a physicist to help with what is missing. Great job on computer graphics, engineering but your missing key concepts of physics

      I am not a programmer. I’m not on the GSPro payroll. I’m just a guy trying to demonstrate how putting works in this game. You should send content like this to GSPro developers and get the right eyes on it. Thanks for watching.
