This is one of the coolest setups I've ever seen. A Dover Impulse and Otis Series 1 right next to each-other. Both were installed around the same time. The Otis was installed first followed by the Dover. This is really cool considering these 2 companies were most likely rivals in the 80s and 90s considering they had some of the most popular elevators being built during the time. Overall they both run very well, I just can't believe I came across a really neat setup like this.

Otis + Dover = Dovis😂
Woah that’s cool. I’ve never seen a setup like this before
Which do you prefer?
My guess is that elevator enthusiasts would prefer the Dover but MOST people would use series 1
I probably prefer the Dover to be honest. But anyone can use either one. Still they are both great elevators and this is one of the coolest setups I have ever seen.
@@Jamestube8439 I would say the same from the building perspective as it has better fire service minus the fact the UP lantern is falling apart. (Most people would use the left one as it’s closest and most familiar)
The weirdest case scenario would be the left elevator uses older series 1 (like the one in this video with no beeps or chimes) while the DOVER elevator would have newer series 1 (with pop out buttons and a beep and audible chimes)
@@boiii3productions945 Yeah that up lantern sucks, it’d be nice if they could get someone out there to fix it. But based on the personal setup, it would seem more likely for the average to press the button they see first which is probably going to be the left considering most people read left to right which would make sense
I would use the series 1 for sure. Love the indicator. Red is pretty rare, right?
I can understand a few years difference, but the same year? I have never seen that before.
the elevators are now going to be modernized by Dovis.
Nope, they’re not gonna get modded at all
2:15 It probably has that "1973b through 1978" version of FS.
THIS BUILDING MUST BOTH TRUST DOVER AND OTIS SO THEY COULDN’T DECIED WHAT TO PICK SO THEY WENT WITH BOTH LOL.
Possibly, either way I think it's one of the coolest setups I've ever seen.
@@Jamestube8439 it would be weirder if was older series 1 on left and newer series 1 on the right
Or if Thyssenkrupp or thyssendover impulse was on the left while Dover is on the right.
Or RARE long bar MT/or even Schindler HT was on one of the elevators while standard MT was on the other
@@boiii3productions945 yeah just imagine a set up like that. That definitely be interesting
That is so Weird in the Same Building
It is but it's so unique.
Why is the fan off in the Otis and Dover 🤦🏻
@@mustangdbest220 That’s a good thing. Then we can hear the inner workings of the elevators better
@@Jamestube8439 not really all elevators have exhaust fans that should be on
@@mustangdbest220 Only if it’s hot in the elevator then yes. If it’s not hot in which most cases it’s not (especially if the elevator is inside) then there’s no need for it.
@@Jamestube8439 well all of the elevators that I've been in the exhaust fans there always on
the dover is on a newer controller the bell only rings if theirs a floor above or below the floor when the floor your on button is pressed or the call button is pressed
Makes sense, thanks for the info.
I bet this is to compare between 2 companies
Possibly, the 2 serial numbers are pretty close to each-other. Still it's a great combo.
Okay, the Otis Series 1 and Dover Impulse kind of look similar.
How?
@@Jamestube8439 both the buttons are square that’s why
@@boiii3productions945 I mean yeah that’s true but besides the shape they don’t have much more in common
God this was so weird
Very bizarre layout.
Indeed it is
@@Jamestube84393:29 did I hear the dover buzz?
