I always admired Iman because she was unique. She wasn’t a mannequin for a sales company displaying a product but a goddess wearing what made her look and feel beautiful. Oh look darling doesn’t this look gorgeous! Instead of this is what’s on the rack. Iman is beautiful because she is is Iman, her skin alure is only icing on top of the cake. ♥️💕🙏❤️

Iman has been the Somalian refugee woman whose fierce spirit gave permission to so many Somali girls, like myself, the right to SIMPLY BE and SHOW your beauty, regardless of what others thought. MAJESTIC, UNIQUE BEAUTY, coupled with the innocence that comes from growing up in a country like Somalia. ❤️🔥❤️
Iman is such an inspiration, and seems to be a beautiful person inside/out along with compassionate/grounded despite the fame.💜 I loss my beloved adopted mom recently now parentless, the grief has been very heavy if not inconceivable at times. Watching and listening to Iman amongst some others brings a little light to my darkness/somber ness.🥀

I remember Iman in the Star Trek movie. She's pretty.
Iman is stunning
The first time I saw Iman was @ Hotel Pierer at Oscar De La Renta's Spring Collection. The room was tight but we had a section for us to shoot @ the foot of the small runway. The models came out and I shot as they got to certain spots on the RW. Flashes were the staple of light needed if you're shooting w/low ISO unlike the light sensitivity of digital cams today. So the girls walked, the flashes popped, a few single shots from each of us but when Iman entered my eyes locked on her from my view finder. She is mesmerizing ! Then she disappeared ! It was from the barrage of dozens of the high powered cam flashes going off @ the same time. You could hear the motor drive's searing sound on continuous almost muffling out the music.
THAT was the indicator that Iman is The One. Needless to say, this happens @ every show she walks in....
No mention of Billie Blair, she was huge in the 70s

So happy to hear about the idea of passing the baton because it's so true the race against racism in all forms of representation isn't over by a mile, but progress taken by the inch is still progress. These models are amazing, and beautiful, but the most wonderful part is seeing the younger women standing in an activist mindset. It isn't just that I got this job, it's an understanding that seeing your image can profoundly change, for the better, another girl's life because she sees someone like herself in a positive light.
This was fun to watch. Really loved their stories. God bless these sweet souls to the end of time.

Marcellas Thanks for these Supreme Model episodes. Being a local Print Model here in Chicago this has brought back so many great memories for me. I modeled in the time where it was 'not' OK to be thick. I was 5'7 1/2, small waist, hips and 'behind' and that's something that wasn't smiled upon until now when ladies are getting BBLs and drinking supplements to achieve thicker backsides. As a print model - I did several local posters for Budweiser, Miller Girls and competed in The Ms Courvoisier Model Runway Show and won! I won an all expense paid trip for two to Paris. I did a lot of hair care ads for Summit Labs, Luster Products, shot for Dudley's Beauty School under the direction of Ms. Clawson and the Bronner Brothers Hair Shows while being a key Model for Luster Products. I worked with makeup artist Landis of Landis Cosmetics who actually got me my very 1st print ad and also Johnny Wright who went on to be the 1st lady - Michelle Obama's hairstylist while President Obama served in office. Johnny even referred to me as one of his Mentors. Lastly, I went to high school with Sam Fine! I got SO excited seeing him in the Docu. I remember him being an upper classman - I was in my freshman year of Highschool he was a Senior. I never knew he would turn out to be a world renowned make up artist, however it was something about him then that drew you, he was in a social club in high school called Omni C, they were so intriguing, they were the elite upper classmen at Percy Percy L Julian high school - atleast in my eyes they were. I looked up to them....This Documentary brought back so many fond memories for me... thanks again and BRAVO!
Love this video. I'm really honored for the first time to be an American. Lately I've noticed women in all shapes,sizes,age, genders,and ethnicity are being put up front and center. TV, magazines, internet are finally reflecting what this country really looks like. Now we need to enhance what we see on the big screen. It should have happened a long time ago but I'm honored to see that it happened in my lifetime.
