    I’ve done same clock last week and I had to remove the minute gear and make a new bearing for.
    Thanks for your videos.

    Excellent video - thanks for sharing. You have inspired me to have a go at fixing clocks which otherwise would be thrown away.

    I got a 1950s Westclox style 6 alarm clock (no radioactive dials thankfully) had it for years always sits on my desk.
    I'm very tempted to service it as it definitely needs one. Clock only runs for about a few minutes to an hour then it completely stops so I'm guessing it just needs a cleaning.
    Are most old alarm clocks similar? I'd love to get it fully up and running properly for the first time in probably decades but scared I'll permanently ruin it or not be able to put it back together. So far this is the best video Ive found on cleaning up an old clock movement, so I'm curious if all movements are roughly the same?

      Hi, in general alarm clocks movements are similar but if you are not sure about your skills or you afraid to ruin you clock find a watchmaker. He will know what to do.

    Hello Sebastian, what kind of oil do you use for clocks?

    • @tickingWATCH
      @tickingWATCH  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Generally thick and sticky. I chose car engine oils 10W40, 85W140 and synthetic grease 👍

      @tickingWATCH Thank you for your reply. I live in Warsaw and I am also watchmaker, recently I have been getting into the clock repair but I just do not want to spend Moebius in a 10zl clock. Additionally I was wondering if you know cheaper options available in Poland to lubricate movements rather than Moebius. Thanks once more.

      @@PabloC-G as I wrote before synthetic oils to your car, there are many of them

    Thank you, I found a old clock my Mother in Law had, it does not work, it is a westclox travel alarm clock. I watched your video to see how I might get it apart. I got the cover off. It seems to only have one wind spring, it goes to the alarm. I did not find a place for a battery. I think it is a Model 2356. I will continue to look for more information on it. Thank you again for helping me work on my clock. if you have any knowledge on my clock, please let me know.

      Thanks, sometimes watches have only on mainspring, Never done this model, so good luck with yours and when I'll find something similar definitely will do a video about.

    With due respect
    The beat is not upto the mark.The hair spring should go little further into the hole and the stud to be put thereafter.
    The hammer not touching the metallic back cover hence the shrill metallic sound is missing. A smaller washer or shim is required under the screw. Please correct it.Love.

    I have fixed my alarm clock all parts without cleaning and oiling ,it doesn't work
    Is that that the only reason of not working

    • @tickingWATCH
      @tickingWATCH  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cleaning and oiling is a must, also check if the main spring or spring from alarm does not hacks one of the wheels 😀

    My alarm mechanical table clock WEKUP works perfectly up to the first 30 hrs.
    ( It runs 40 hrs.for a full wind).After 30 hrs.it gains momentum and starts to run fast and at the end of 40 hrs.it records having run fast by 6 minutes.Why this shifting and how to fix the issue?Please enlighten me.

    • @tickingWATCH
      @tickingWATCH  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, check the mainspring or is she hacking somewhere and on the end the force is much lower or even it has to be replaced. Do you have a mainspring barrel?

    Były jakieś poltiki lub inne polskie budziki z mechanizmem z kamieniami? Bo takie Slavy i slavopodobne (Mir, Dróżba) mają mechanizmy wyglądające znacznie lepiej, z kamieniami, sprężynami w bębnach i takie ogólnie ładniejsze

    • @tickingWATCH
      @tickingWATCH  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nic mi o tym nie wiadomo więc zakładam, że nie. Pewnie mechanizmy kwarcowe i tak nie pozwliłyby im długo istnieć.
