    can actually just race over the glass with the template behind. I'm new to lettering, it's easier to trace over my design :)

      I agree, it would be so much easier

    It might be faux to you but to me, it is really nice I like your letters even better so when can you stop over to do mine :P I wish I had picked up one of those chalk pens many times I am at Michaels and see them and say what would I need that for? well hello, I paint all the time and never use it but its surely a great idea now that I need to do something similar great tip and thank you for sharing ...

    Hi @SarahTypes going to try doing a seating plan using this technique. Can you let me know if by doing it on plastic has the same effect, or it must be glass? thanks

    • @SarahTypes

    Omg!! I didn’t even pay attention that this was your video until it came to the end and you said Sarah Types! I heard the Canadian accent but didn’t think anything of it. I am going to attempt one of these projects. Haha that is so coincidental . Glad it was you because I liked yours the best out of the rest I was watching lol!

    Did you use anything to seal it afterward? I’m doing the same thing and I’m afraid it’ll scratch?

    • @SarahTypes
      @SarahTypes  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      no you don't need to seal it. It can scratch yes but it would need to be a hard scratch.. so it's pretty durable for light usage.

    how many coats do you have to do? I have these sharpie pens but even after about 3 coats its still quite faint unlike yours in the video

    • @SarahTypes
      @SarahTypes  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i do one, maybe two... make sure you are pressing them so there is enough ink coming out first.. they shouldn't be that watery

  • @catchdq5341

    Is there a way to add gloss effect to this?

    • @SarahTypes
      @SarahTypes  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hmmm, I'd look around and see if you could find a glossy finish pen other wise you can coat it with a finish but then the sign would be permanent

    Do you seal it with anything?

    • @SarahTypes
      @SarahTypes  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope! It should stay on pretty well - to remove it I used windex :) (you can also use a straight blade)

    this one was definitely a difficult one compared to lots of other ones and therefore I did not finish watching the vid. there were so many steps that were so unnecessary. like why do so much work when there are simpler ways of doing it?

    • @SarahTypes
      @SarahTypes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      what is the simpler way?

    What application is that on the IPAD?

  • @KimberleyNguyen26
    @KimberleyNguyen26 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I find that when I fill in the downstrokes it doesn't have a very solid white look. Do I have to fill the strokes a few times to get the colour to be fully white?

    • @SarahTypes
      @SarahTypes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      sometimes this happens with the sharpies - make sure to press down the nib before applying it so there is a lot of ink there. Also Posca makes some great pens too! But yes a few strokes is usually what I have to do.
