Todd, Congrats on the development of the new camera tray, and thanks for the video. I have never looked at anything else besides GoPro and have gotten tons of GoPro accessories🙂 Beside the white color, there is also a big difference in other colors between the two cameras! For instance, at 0:17 in your video, there is a fish that is yellow in color with GoPro 13 and orange with DJI Osmo 5 !!!!!! What is the real color of this fish supposed to be? I am staying with GoPro , but I would say the winner would be the camera that captures the real color of subjects underwater. Cheers
The color profile on the DJI camera is more saturated than the GoPro profile. You could adjust the colors in post production to match better. The DJI camera made the California green water a little too blue for my liking. California has green water, I don't want to remove all of that. I wanted to leave the videos untouched for the review, but I would add a little more green to the DJI Osmo Action5 Pro video. The GoPro shot I would take some green out. I think in a shark dive, blue water dive, whales, manta rays type of open water shots....I would rather shoot with the DJI Osmo Action5 Pro. The camera simulates a filter (red or magenta) better than the GoPro can. Also maybe green water dives, the DJI Osmo Action5 Pro would be better. It would be easier to add a little green in the video rather than try to color correct the GoPro video.
