That menú del día looked delicious Stuart and amazing value too. I would expect to pay around £40 for a meal like that on the outskirts of London where I live. The restaurant looked quite nice with friendly service. What more do you need? Nice one.😀👍
I have never seen fried chicken on a Caesar salad here in the USA. I do think it normally comes with croutons here . I do not like fried chicken so that would be a deal breaker for me but as far as the rest of that salad it was huge and looked good.
@ Caesar salads do not come with any protein on top unless requested by the diner. That must be the restaurant’s idea or maybe they do it in Spain. There are anchovies in the dress on a traditional Caesar.
Here in Dallas, a ceasar salad at la madeline french cafe is just romain lettuces, grated parmasan cheese and a few croutons. With a small glass of red wine i pay $21. Plus 20% tip on top. No second course and no dessert. Your menu del dia was definitely a bargain.
I think the salad looked wonderful and would be a meal by itself for me. The portions were huge and it seemed like good value considering you upgraded both choices. I am loving these food videos❤️
We went to the the Casa Carmen (a chain) recently to celebrate my wife’s birthday, on the rooftop terrace of Madrid Rio 2 shopping centre, opposite the Matadero, with great views over Madrid, but have to say we were not impressed, mainly because the dishes, especially the starters, were ridiculously small…you got much bigger portions in the menú del día! Best thing was the view!
The Menu del Dia is my go to choice for lunch when I'm in Spain, always good value for money. I'll be back in Spain (Andalucia) in a couple of months time and can't wait to have the Carrillo de Cerdo again in Malaga. I grow my own Padron Peppers from seed here in Canada, not as good as the ones in Spain, but close enough. That steak looked amazing Stu.
Great video Stu..1800's lot of Irish emigrated to Argentina. One man was Jimmy Curry. He missed Worcestershire sauce and tried to make it. Ended up with Jimmy Curry sauce, which locals pronounced Chimichurri.
Hola Stuart really enjoyed the food vlog tonight. I must say all the food looks lovely especially that steak I love steak especially Argentinian steak❤👍🍷🇪🇸 excellent value for money 👍 especially with the wine😊🍷
Stu ,I would have ordered the fish personally . This was a lot of food and actually overall was impressive for the price and quality you described. I loved the fact that the restaurant had cloth tablecloths. That is so rare where I live in the Denver, Colorado, Metro in the USA. A place like that here would cost an arm and a leg and a head and in my experience . I would not see a place like that in my neighborhood, which is full sadly of fast food , one sit down stir fry restaurant and a good Pho restaurant. .
Great selection ; the salad looked delicious and your enjoyment of that steak confirmed it was a standout. I would have. Preferred a beautiful instead of yogurt. The price was incredible, excellent value. Well done on the 3 glasses of vino! Loved the review, well done.
Caesar salad??? Nope. Needs another name but it looked good. Looks like the steak was cooked to a perfect temp and very tender. Good choice. Loved this video. Thanks for sharing.
Good shout on the subs Stuart, particularly for us learning Spanish. Funny enough, I had Argentinian steak for the first time last week but it's not for me, I lurves my fish. Did look quality food though.
There’s a oriental food hall in north London with dozens of food stalls selling amazing interesting quality food at similar prices...For me, they’ll always have to be first choice.
I grow my own padron peppers in n Ireland I send to Spain and buy the seeds why I do that is I love the roulette you don’t know what they are like till you bite them I grow for taste in my pollytunnels my tomatoes are gorgeous as are all my vegetables sorry for getting a bit excited I love growing my food and cooking it love your channel Stu good luck for the future my friend 🤝
Stuart, have you ever tried roasted kid or lamb head? Although it's more common in the south, I think you can find it in Madrid too... they used to serve it whole to the customer, and there are various ways to serve it depending on the region. I recommend trying it someday everything is delicious, from the brains, eyes, tongue, although some customers might find it repulsive. Cheers!
Definitely not a Caesar salad. There's normally only crunchy Romaine Lettuce, parmesan cheese, croutons and the dressing in it. But it looked interesting. The fried chicken gave it a fast food salad look though. 😆
Stew, my wife and I just finished lunch in a restaurant in Sevilla and I had Pisto for the first time. It is now at the top of my favorites. If you have not yet featured Pisto in your food videos, would love for you to try it and let us know what you think. BTW, my plate of Pisto had a fried egg on top with runny yoke. Mmmm! I also had bread with it.
Very nice meal and reasonably priced. Must say that a bit surprised that the chicken was fried as normally this salad uses bits of roast chicken. The Angus Entraña must be very good as it is one of the best meats. Loved the idea of yoghurt with mango purée.
Los pimientos de Padrón, que unos pican y otros no, sólo se dan en verano, producción pequeña, y están muy solicitados. El resto del año son de Marruecos, que ni pican ni nada, y usurpan el nombre, porque Padrón es D.O.
That portion size is a one-meal a day for me and I'd have to put in an hour a day exercise to keep a steady weight! 😆😁🤣 May have been the camera angle.
I haven't had too much luck with 'al punto' in Spain..Always comes out bloody. What we call very rare in the US. What's the equivalent of 'medium' in Spain? "Mediano"?
That salad would have filled me up and never would’ve made it the second course, let alone the dessert. In the U.S. we call it salad dressing. Is it “sauce” in Australia? I couldn’t enjoy it with bottled salad dressing, regardless of other great looking ingredients. What a deal on the amount of food and general quality. I wish we had a “Menu Del Dia” here. Chimichurri is Argentinian.
We can now get Padron Peppers in the UK, but i must admit, I am disappointed by the quality... whatever happened to patron being the Russian roulette of veg? No more hot ones... I noticed this in Spain too while I was on Camino in June and July... what do you think? Are they REALLY importing the patron with less authenticity to Spain as well?
It seems lile this has turned into a food channel. Its not so good because your review style is a bit flat and involves a lack of humour. If youre akming to get into food reviews, its time to project more warmth and entertainment into the content.
"They've also brought out some bread which I'm not going to touch today." PICKS IT UP TO SHOW THE CAMERA so it has to be thrown away 😮😊. Bogan behaviour 🤷?

Hi. I thought the price was reasonable. Quality good too.
That Caesar salad looks nothing like the Caesar salads in the US, and that’s not a bad thing. It looked amazing. 😻
@Osusackett Looks nothing like a caesar salad anywhere.
I didn’t recognize that Caesar and it’s not like that in Mexico where they originated.

I’ve been to Casa Carmen a few times and find it hit or miss. At least they serve some veggies with their mains, which is very rare in Spain!
I think the salad looked wonderful and would be a meal by itself for me. The portions were huge and it seemed like good value considering you upgraded both choices. I am loving these food videos❤️
Stu, I think your son really looks forward to your meal videos. When you pick him up at school, does he ask you, "What's for lunch today?"
That’s where Spain is king. The food is great and the prices are reasonable
The steak looked perfectly rested too,Stuart. I don't know how you do it but I can't eat without that delicious Spanish bread to accompany the food.

Hola Stu. The standout item for me was the salad but the entire meal looked great! Thanks for the review.
Thanks Stuart food looked amazing
fantastic content and really good value! I'm making lists for our visit at beginning of Jan
Good find. Noted. 😊
Looked delicious Stuart and good value
I think that was excellent value. Not charging for bread is also a bonus - it seems to be becoming more common to charge.
Seems great value!😊
Welsh soup of the day is leek. Originally probably introduced into wales by the Spanish migrants 100s of years ago.
What a delicious bargain of a meal! 😻
The salad was invented by an Italian living in Tijuana (MX) in the 1920’s - that one looked awesome! Fun review. Thank you Stuart.
Overall, it looked good value.
Seems like a solid bargain to me! Good if not perfect and really great value.
Stuart: I’m going to go for good value today
- Shocking :)
Everything looked good. That steak made my mouth water 🤤 I don’t know what desserts are common in Spain but the yogurt is something I would enjoy!

I always have pisto in Seville. I was introduced to it two years ago by my late consuegra and love it
Stu did have Pisto a few videos back.
Viva el pisto.
Amazing food for the price.
Nothing like olive oil and vinegar for the salad

The menu del dia does not cater for vegetarians?
Food looked decent, good value, buy as a tourist not somewhere I’d seek out but I guess if you live there it’s fine 😊
Excellent value. In the UK you would pay that just for the meat course alone.
......SALUD.........
Best steak ever in Spain. Cannot remember having a good steak here in the UK.
That portion size is a one-meal a day for me and I'd have to put in an hour a day exercise to keep a steady weight! 😆😁🤣 May have been the camera angle.
Doesn’t Mrs Stu get annoyed or jealous that she isn’t a part of these wonderful meals?
Te insiste en que lleva suplemento porque la gente no suele leer o después se quejan del precio
Stuart that was a great meal, worth it price. I think you have also consumed too much chips in the week, they can loose taste along the way!
The places you are visiting seem to look empty. Is it because of the times you are visiting?
Hi. Yes.
Salad was so big that ingredients kept jumping put of the dish

no croutons.

Very hot that sauce xx
