  • A true adventure, trolling for european Sea Bass (Dicentrarchus Labrax) and Atlantic Bonito (Sarda sarda) my favorite species on a beautiful and wild landscape.
Kayak fishing on the razor's edge, feel the adrenaline, an over board situation, fighting Bonitos and a Sea bass using light rods, a very painful bite, the dangers of being blown onto the coastal rocks, a major fissure on the Kayak, a kayak half full of water...
The Japanese method IKIJIME is used to paralyze the fish and to maintain the quality of its meat (insertion of a spike behind and above the eye, thereby causing immediate brain death). The standard method of bleeding (through a gill cut) is used on the Bonitos to improve flesh quality.
The fishing journey took place on the vicinity of Sagres Point, from the Latin Promontorium Sacrum ‘Holy Promontory’ , is a windswept shelf-like promontory located in the southwest Algarve region of southern Portugal. Infante Dom Henry the Navigator commenced his explorations and initiate the Portuguese Age of Discoveries from Sagres.

A focused fisherman, the fish and only the fish are the focus, even after falling in the water never lose fish control, re-enter the kayak still in control until the fish is on board. A bit later one Atlantic Bonito made a mess out of the multifilament lines of other three rods, still the focus was on the fish, and only after “landing” the fish, the mess was taken care, what a lesson!

Regarding the spots to fish from shore It is not easy to help I never have fishing from shore for bonitos and a very limited experience for sea bass. All the shore you see around the spot is a part of the port and you can’t access.

@ I mean sourraunding of Algarve??

Sorry, please ignore my last email this video was recorded in Sagres Algarve and not in the Sines harbor

In Algarve, you may try around the Costa Vicentina shore, Entry of Portimão harbor or Ilha do Farol entry of the harbor, but it is always hard to catch one with some luck you may catch a bluefish

Obs: Perdoe-me mas parti-me todo a rir aos 5:47. São ossos do oficio :)
