I am amazed when I remember where I sledded as a kid. Straight down 45 degree streets into oncoming traffic. I once dug my toes in to stop while on my stomach and went the rest of the way without a sled and scraped so much skin off my palms and cheeks. All I cared about was hiding my brush with death from my mom, not treating it, so I still have scars on my hands.
@@jillmarie4240 Rachel has had practice with snowboarding, which uses more lower body movement to control speed and direction, while sled/scootering uses a lot of upper body movement to control speed and direction. So, it makes sense that she'd be kinda shaky on the sled/scooter. The fact that Rachel isn't going down a significant hill doesn't really help to build up momentum to maintain balance either.
The snowman that Rachel and girlfriend built had three snowball body segments that were all the same size therefore the snowman's name should have been Oddball considering that it didn't have a large bottom, medium center, and small head like a typical snowman.
There was that moment I forgot you didn’t grow up with snow. I was washing dishes and watching. I actually stopped for a moment as you started making the snowman base. I thought, “Why is she not rolling the base?” And then it all came back…southern Cali girl. Ohhhhhhh.
Yeah. Same. In my mind I was telling her to roll a small ball all around to start what will be the bigger bottom base, then the middle and finally rolling one for the head that is smaller than bottom two. Thought it was funny the head was bigger at first. Definitely a California girl. 😊☃️

For all my fellow snow people, if you use the snowball maker by filling in both halves and clamping it on the end of a thin tree branch, they look like hanging magic snow balls.
@@georgiabrook8866 I get what you are saying - but the comment was "as an Aussie"... and as an Aussie, there is definitely snow to play in. No shade, just making the point that it does snow in Australia.
I feel like it is known among people who grew up in cold climates that standing sleds are actually a no go. In north western PA, we had all kinds “snowboard” sleds. None worked. Saucers and those flat foam sleds are where it’s at. If you got really daring you’d try to stand and “surf” down on those since they were big and flat. Also didn’t work but we tried lol
The very few times it actually snowed in Southeastern Oklahoma, where I grew up, we used Avon box lids, because my Mom sold Avon. Lol We also had a really cute Snoopy pool floaty that was a kid-sized raft. I was too big at that point, but my sisters had a blast! It even had a little ring for a tow rope!
From someone who grew up in ny and had a lot of very snowy winters, I think winter growing up was my favorite season because of all of the snow ❄ ☃️ (Christmas was also my favorite Holiday because of that too 😅)
I grew up in a warm climate and don't have much experience with snow. When I was young, my family did a big family snow trip and because I always saw it on tv, I tried rolling a snow ball to make a snow man, but it totally didn't work at all for me. So I'm super impressed that it actually worked for GF.
I live in a colder climate where it snows a lot in winter and if just rly depends on the snow like if u have solid packing snow it works rly nice but if the snow is to soft it may now
i live in an extremely hot climate (trinidad and tobago) and i’ve never been anywhere but my country so i have never seen snow irl. Hopefully one day I will!
i grew up in Pa and I love the fact we see all four seasons. love how gf showed you to roll the snowman body thats how my brothers made ours, as for his name how about Mr, Freeze
Name suggestion for the ☃️: I say Meltin' John... Not sure why that popped in my head lol Or Snow Bear ❄🧸 Btw...I absolutely LOVE little dogs jacket! 😍
you missed out on FORTS & IGLOOS ' we had the biggest freakin igloo when i was10 . a snow scraper cleaned over 2 feet of snow from our huge apartment complex parking lot and put all the snow in one spot and we built tunnels and rooms all through it .it was LEGENDARY gaurantee every kid in my neighborhood remembers it.15-20 feet high and twice as long.i would play in it today prob only for 10 mins cuz im old and get cold, but still
Ahhhh so it's a snow scooter, I volunteer in a local charity shop here in the UK and had one donated last week but the sticker showing what it was had rubbed off, so now I know what it is if anyone asks, and as for snowman names what about Chilly McSlushy

Girlfriend showing Rachel how to build a snowman was everything this East Coast girl who has built so many snowmen in her youth could have wished for!
Rachel measuring the age group for toys by different Ballinger kids so funny 😂

As an Aussie, playing in the snow seems like such fun! I hope to get to do it one day.
aww that's cute

Yeah, saucers are best, we all tried to surf and failed, the best way was penguin style on your stomach, or if you were really bored backwards

With that snowball form thing you’re supposed to put the snowballs on tree branches and stuff. They make heart ones too. Make the trees pretty
