The original versions are great, but these acoustical performances really show how great they are. The way the songs work in both forms, but in completely different ways is really amazing.
NICE. This is the first band performance that I have seen where the guitarist is playing in full classical guitar mode- sitting down, foot stool, correct posture, good right hand technique, etc. And everything is still, only his head really moves. EXCELLENT JOB MR CLASSICAL GUITARIST!
Honestly Iain and Martin are absolutely amazing musicians. They can play pretty much any musical instrument and have the craft nailed perfectly. And create these stunning atmospheres for Laurens Vocals. I have a massive amount of respect for all of them; it'd be good to see more interviews with Iain and Martin and hear their process.
I recently lost a friend to a disease they fought for a long time. The songs they play here have expressed the emotions I'm feeling and every question I wanted to, but couldn't ask. They've even giving me a laugh between songs. Thank you chvrches.
Sorry to hear that. Their music helped me a lot as well ever since 4 years ago when Every Open Eye was released. But thanks for sharing that. Hang in there.
Am I the only one who feels that "Miracle"'s acoustic version sounds much better than in its original version? I thought the album version's production sounded too generic while here the arrangements brought the song to life! I could finally enjoy it! Thanks Chvrches, this sounds really good!
I usually watch heavy bands but I love watching Chvrchres because they are really great. That they can add a drummer or play acoustic shows the depth of their talent. I hope they have a long career. Cheers.
@@dakaraius Same here. It's the voice + the melancholic vibe. And strangely I like the synth stuff more than the accoustic set though I always wondered how well The Mother We Share would work, if played on a guitar.
HAHA. stop giving explanation why you like their music. just admit that you're gay. You're not hard enough if you like these music. true man listen exclusively to heavy song.
This bands acoustic numbers just hit all my pleasury bits. From the Lauren chat inbetween the songs to the wonderful performances, they just deliver so often.
I have listened to a few of these short live performances. This one is by far my favourite. The sound is perfect and I love the singer's playful inbetween song moments.
Love Lauren's voice. You guys should put out an acoustic album of your songs. Chvrches Unplugged! You guys are super talented and inspiring. Thank you for your music!
GoldStar5 Agreed, I love the atmosphere of their live performances but you can really hear the strain in her voice when she’s trying to project her voice over loud music. She’s definitely better than she used to be, however her voice is perfect in quieter performances
This is the first time I've heard of them, they were performing on the morning news. Needless to say, I was amazed, the clarity in her voice, a special tone, and grahics in their videos is incredible. Well some day I hope I get to see them in concert, but being age 63, permanently disabled and low income it probly won't happen, but I highly recommend them, they're talented. Mike Drouin from Elk Grove CA.
Such a beautiful intimate performance performed so wonderfully! Never forget waking up at 5am turning on the tv to see 🙈 Lauren spinning doing miracle on Ellen. I was soo pumped best day ever!
As much as I love their electronic work I find this acoustic approach brilliant. It's outstanding! She has such a sparkling voice, and this reminds me a bit of when Bjork strips the layers of electronics and lets us hear what she really sounds like.
I really really love this. Probably more than the album versions. I take that back I love every version The Mother we Share equally. That song is the shit.
So now they released an acoustic EP recorded in the famous Hansa studios in Berlin. Depeche Mode, U2 and Bowie recorded great albums here. I think Berlin deserved the Chvrches. And the Chvrches deserved Berlin. Our beloved hometown...
I think it's brave for such a thoroughly electric band to do an acoustic show. But it show they love music, too. I played music with a bunch of friends and we liked to try different sounds. So they aren't just there to be big and famous, they like the art and the act of playing. Good to know they are staying grounded in the midst of all that the music industry throws at you. Not afraid of a change either. 🎵👌
She could wear a potato bag and still look gorgeous!! I admire her so much! Got the chance to see them at the Corona Capital in Mexico, they're amazing alive!!!
after "Really Gone" she jokes it was depressing...…...HELL NOOOOOO! her voice is like the medicine you need to feel better. I am a dj so I found this group via remixes, but I am branching off from my usual sources to study this group more, and I am so impressed. real talent, real music. I wish them continued success but no to become so big that they change what makes them! This has happened to a lot of dj/producers I loved.
Lauren is about the cutest thing on this Earth. My heart beats a little faster when I watch her sing. I imagine I'm just one of many on that. This is a really cool performance, always interesting to hear a mostly electronic band go acoutic....they pulled it off quite well. Happy the band continues seeing so much success. Nothing pretentious about them, just a very unique and very likable combination of talents.
I miss the days when women wore dresses. How good it is to see the woman of my dreams love's to wear a dress. And she sure looks amazing in them.😲♥️🥰 I love you sweetheart.
We need acoustic versions of all CHVRCHES albums!
Agreed. That NPR Tiny Desk session was fantastic also.
Her singing voice has a healing effect.
it's the allergies
Realy is a angel😍
I agree
Her talking voice is calming as well.
Lauren's voice reminds me of Harriet Wheeler's. Very pleasant and sweet.

She has such an amazing voice. The band playing acoustic is so different to their electric style. All very talented.
Makes me think of Ocarina of Time, Link playing lute on a rock somewhere.
I just discovered this band and I'm glad I did. Sweet voice, keyboard player is so understated but powerful...love them.
Wasnt a fan of their covers, until i found out about their original songs, then it hit me.. Their amazing

goose bumps & tears, brilliant.
So nice to hear their songs with a drummer adding a double time feel with brushes.
This is GOLD. Thanks YT, thanks CHVRCHES and thank you Lauren
super duper; I love both acoustic and electronic/synth versions of their songs; shows how talented Chvrches is
Amazing performance, they don't need synths --- she just keeps getting better vocally! WOW!!
If I bought a ticket to see Chvches and didnt see two synths and a stack of amplifiers Id be very sad.

Superb set. Acoustic certainly adds a new dimension to their material. What a voice.
I've listened to this set about 10 times today, no lie.
that performance of really gone is just beautiful!
He wit and humor makes her 10X more attractive.
You can always tell if synth-pop and electronic music is musically authentic if the acoustic versions sound good. Here they sound great.
Shes so cute, silly and incredible live!!! :) made me wish i was part of the audience there too!
Oh my... This is so beautiful! I

She sounds like Nelly Furtado at times
One of the few bands that sound amazing live.. Even better than on the album at times
Racoon eyes / hair make it a setting imo.
This is so a different and wonderful to the album versions. Soooo good!
THis whole set is fabulous but i especially loved the version of "Really Gone"
Yes, incredible performance. Listening it over and over again!
A great set from the band. It's nice to sometimes keep it to the basics and this proves it.

Yes, it really shows the strength of their songwriting.
I absolutely adore her!!!!
Miracle is such a beautiful song and really expressive in an acoustic format.

She is honest.

I like those versions. They definetly need to make some of them part of their regular setlists to fresh things up a little.
I love the instant change of tone from singing to: "Sooooo" 😆
I was here!!! Thank you for uploading! One of the best nights of my life!
so why does the crowd laugh at the end when she sings "when it all scuffs up".?
@@peanutbutterrobot idk I guess cause she censors that lyric and it made the crowd laugh haha I really don't know.
@peanutbutterrobot the original lyric was "when it all fucks up". The substitution made me laugh, actually.

simply amazing. it is so nice to see TALENT in this world of bull$hit artist and crap they call "music". This group is timeless
Lauren is hypnotisingly beautiful like a siren of the seas.. many would happily be drawn by her charm even if it was meeting their fate!
The opening line and chorus of TMWS has always given me goosebumps.
