Madam I just found a mistake in your problem while taking the cofactor matrix..the value of B22 is actually -1 and not +1... Pls correct it as soon as possible.. therefore the value of B inverse also changes...

This is the biggest problem with Indian education. The students are provided with a working rule and without any conceptual understanding they just blindly follow these working procedure to arrive at the result. She clearly tells this at 23:55.
Note: I must not blame this teacher because I don't know if she has previously explained how we arrive at these working rules.

If the determinant of the modal matrix were zero then diagonalization wouldn't be possible. That's how one can make out whether it is digonalisable or not.
