The whole plot of the show was letting go of people who passed away and accepting that they are gone. Hence the importance of showing the souls crossing namdo river. Letting Manwol stay with Chansung would ruin the whole idea of the show.

When Mr. Kim left HDL, I was sad like I feel I am part of the family and then I realized this was the last episode so I was crying as a fan cause it's the end of one of the best KDrama.
