@@iamkeigivi I know right… I asked some about ‘the president’ thing as well (I’m 2022 ARMY also) and someone told me some ARMYs wanted to buy an island just for them and I guess for ARMY; RM would be the president. I don’t know why but I feel it’s a twitter thing ( they say twitter ARMY was really vocal & really organized back in the days… sharing links and planning stuff) the reason they wanted to buy an island… I’m not sure why though.
@@Talks_a_latte As far as I remember it started after RM's speech at the UN in 2018, many army thought because how inspiring and thoughtful his speech was he should run for president. An army actually asked him during a live I believe to run for president and he jokingly said "'President Kim Namjoon' . It has a nice ring to it doesn't it?" Twitter Army would be even more huge today if it wasn't for Elon buying it and changing a lot of the algorithm's, how it works. We use to trend things constantly on the twitter main trending pages worldwide but they changed the algorithm so we mostly only trend on music entertainment page or kpop specifically. And army use to every year start retweeting old tweets from BTS' account which added even more likes number with new army seeing them for the first time but most twitter army have noticed that the likes barely move if at all on old tweets now. I personally think with the way the feed works now it's cut our likes on new tweets from BTS' account by 2/3rds and I don't think it's just because of people mass exiting to different platforms tho I'm sure that contributed some. We literally set a record with the most liked tweets, in the history of twitter there are the 30 top most liked tweets 17 of those are from BTS alone. Personally I think they don't like the fact a kpop group was dominating the platform so much and have changed a lot of things now.

I remember this. They performed with no special lights, used confetti. But there were cheers from Armys and it was the main reason they chose to perform. One Army who attended the concert and filmed their performance, actually called her cousin brother and asked for him to check the live in phone but he said they didn't show up. She went as far as asking about this to the staff but no one answered. I am so glad she filmed this. The mistreatment they got was so heartbreaking. If this was to happen these days to any other groups, I am sure even non-fans are ready to protest. They were treated so unfair. And some even say they had it easy? The only thing that's easy is for you to talk shit.
BTS knew they were cut but they thought about the ARMy who were there and waited a long time for their performance. So they went ahead and performed for them to show their appreciation.

I loved the 'Sorry, not sorry' because that perfectly reflects the POV of many ARMY, like me. Jose, please keep doing these videos for those of us who later became ARMY.

I'm mainly a silent viewer and I only trust a few channels for BTS news and info, yours is the one I trust the most. I'm loving all this BTS History content from you recently. It's very educational and eye opening for Armys like me who only joined the fandom midway. I became an Army during their Boy With Love era and all these histories prior to that are interesting to know and it makes me very proud of them for where they are today. I found BTS after all this happened but I remember after being amazed by their MV then went into the rabbit hole& found out about their struggles & hatred they received for no reason but Army grew & was always there. This video always reminds me of that time & it still hurts because of their mistreatment of our 7, more like pissed but what can they say now. No other group have succeeded beyond the way they did. Please do more & thank you for this memory. Always so proud to stan BTS even now they remained humble.

I love this story. BTS is so amazing. I wasn't a fan at the time this happened and this is the first I've heard about it. They are so devoted and they live to perform for Army. They never have and never will make excuses. This to me obviously was in no way their fault. That was a dirty deed, SBS. Shame on you. Thanks Jose. I'm liking these history moments.
Thanks so much for showing this! 🙏💔🥹👍🥰 You could see the confetti, streamers strewn all over floor of stage that was released at end of the broadcast, that BTS ended up having to dance on top of, though I’m sure a but slippery, not to mention a bit hazardous as well. Though not officially broadcast, at least Fancams filmed the performance so it still could be seen & enjoyed. 🙏🥹😔💔😍
Hi Jose. There are many, but i remember this. Our boys worked hard for every inch of gains. They did more than the people around them. I think you see the love of what they do, vs. some other performers who cannot hide their frowns and weak appearances. Some of them just need a chicken leg. 😊 Trying to remember people who are hungry being happy. It makes things difficult, and no doubt BTS feels that pinch now and then, but overall live a healthier lifestyle.
The boys are humble and talented and smart
I would love to know the conversation at the back with the boys and how they came to the conclusion to just go ahead, their thinking and their thoughts behind it. It’s a pity they have no coverage at all on this .. BTS always shows class in all that they do..
I think it's part of why they forged a bulletproof attitude of staying professional no matter the circumstances and creating a new path if theirs is blocked. It forced them to look at their art differently and enjoy but not depend on awards and accolades. It strengthened their bond with each other, ARMY and their agency, plus whomever behind the scene was supportive and genuine. They learned to use every emotion creatively or to motivate them. Their greatness is not just natural gifts and hard work. It's also attitude, a choice of mindset rather than let circumstances sway them.
I am really enjoying these BTS moments in history videos, Jose! I celebrated my 1 year ARMY anniversary back in October and while I hear a lot about their mistreatment during their early years, I often don’t know any details. I appreciate your hard work 💜

Man I remember watching and waiting for BTS to appear and then got that I was so mad 😭 if only my past self would have known what we were in store for in the future 😂 like ok I got used to the shitty broadcasting company bs and crappy camera work smh and live streams but #STOPCOMMENTING will always be ingrained in me like all the effort was put into it but 🤣 crashing sites is an everyday occurrence with BTS and ARMY these days that it feels like I'm still in 144p and dial up days 💜
Hi Jose, thank you for sharing this. It is good put on record BTS early years hardship to be ing "Cancelled" for no reason. Whoever made the decision then if still alive, would live in regrets and guilt or no shame. Thank GOD BTS were and still full of Passions and Love to their music and did the right thing to just go on stage to perform for all still around and here they grown this

The club tour that is never talked about in 2014-15?? I know they had 1 show in Atlanta and NYC among other stops. That was a mess and not many people know about it since not even BigHit talks about it. It's like it never happened. This was before my time in the fandom, but there was a very good reddit post and twitter thread I had read, I'll try and find it!

I'm really glad you did another BTS History episode! There are so many new army that don't know about this or army like myself been here since 2018 who knew about this from xceleste hardships video but did not know what transpired in detail. I had no idea that was the message SBS made making it appear to be BTS's fault with no explanation of an illness or that it was their decision to not allow them to perform. I'm very curious if SBS has ever done this to other artist before?! Are they just jerks in general or is it only BTS that they took issue with. Obviously we have seen BTS perform since then on other SBS events and knowing BTS it was to get a chance to see army. It's crazy because I don't think people realize the big 3 companies had a chokehold on many broadcast stations and even tho things have began to change because of BTS they still have a great deal of control. People think just because Hybe & Big Hit are so wealthy now that they are "The Big 4" but there is no Big 4, it's the Big 3 still because it's so engrained in the entertainment industry there and they exert so much control still in media that BTS still is criticized in articles paid for by the Big 3 company supporters and Naver itself downplays their achievements. The big 3 companies have been on top for so long and have a reputation of being elite but they use mediaplay and control to dominate while also most of them trash talk the competition in negative articles. Also side note I'm so sick of hearing crap spewed about Hybe every 10 seconds but you never hear much uttered about Kakoa when they have more kpop idols and kpop companies under their umbrella and some of their companies don't have a good reputation of treatment of idols. Kakoa has an insane amount of power but like Hybe is a corporation not a music label. It gets really old that nobody understands the difference, the labels control the idols whether they are chosen for a group or whether they are kicked out of a group or what music they release it's all decide by their label: Belift, Source Music, Pledis Entertainment, etc. Hybe isn't perfect but is all about autonomy when it comes to the music labels under them even more so then Kakoa. So please for the love of god learn which label to beach to at the very least.

I was an ARMY at the time, but I wasn't well versed in k media//politics so I barely understood how upsetting this was..BUT I remember all the pics from this performance being ICONIC...Jimin..Hobi..?!!! 2016 was when I started doing my annual Bangtan Bday posts & I remember I used a pic of Jimin from this performance cuz it was so beautiful 🤗☺️
I remember watching the fancams of this performance as a baby ARMY as I waited for my very first BTS comeback. Wasn't ready for what dropped just over a week later...Blood, Sweat, & Tears 💜

They tell that 1 member is injured thats RM,even though rm is missing they can perform.And they perform after the show because of the army is there and wait for BTS till the end of the show

I fairly new to bts & heard about this incident, well you know what who is laughing now. We all now that from the start the television & shows never respected BTS even reporter& never invited @ all. I guess from the start they were already afraid of of our 7 boys. To the “army’s that did not take no for an answer “ thank you” for standing by their side 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

It was my understanding too from army that were there, that even the big main stage lights were turned off and they still performed in the semi-dark. Or is that a different time they were shafted?

I heard a story that they played a concert at a festival almost in the dark because fans of other bands turned off the lights on the lightsticks to harm BTS and the Armys used the lights on their cell phones to help and support. At that time, BTS had not yet released "Army Bomb". Is this story true?

Hi, I am back. Good recap, ty. We on twt talk about this every year and actually someone shared more details about this. So the contract said all 7 members had to perform. I think RM had stage fright issues so he was not there. And so they could not fulfill the contract. I think that is why they took them off. Very by the book and all. I know. It sucks because they don't let one member being gone ruin the performance. We can see they did great. Just bad circumstances. I have mixed feelings about this now since i know more details. hi Jose, I'd like to hear more about : (1) there was speculation that JK and Jimin had a disagreement and footage showing them on stage where Jimin appears to be making a plea to JK. They were fine a few days later. I think the concert was in Malta. Also, (2) Suga said in the recent documentary that the MOTS7 tour was supposed to be the last and then they were going into the military. I have always thought this since they wrote We are Bulletproof The Eternal which was a special song for Army. Were there any other clues now that we look back. on it? (3) Also how long did they live together. Jimin said they lived together for many years (some longer than others) - I don't have a clear idea of this) these are some interesting topics for comment! I thought it was pretty much common knowledge that Map of the Soul: 7 was going to be their last album before enlistment. I think they talked about it during Festa 2022 how that was the plan along with the world tour and then the pandemic happened and they delayed everything in hopes a tour would still happen. That's why I get so irritated about people talking about their English trilogy being some big push in the US when BTS even said if it weren't for the pandemic Dynamite would've never happened because they would've been on tour. And I can't remember where I read it but they said that initially the Map of the Soul albums were supposed to be split into 3: Persona, Shadow, and Ego, but because of the time crunch they just combined Shadow and Ego for Map of the Soul: 7. And if I'm not mistaken the law wasn't changed to allow BTS to delay their enlistment until December 2020. So if the law hadn't been changed Jin would've had to enlist in 2020 no matter what so they were making plans with the mentality that Jin would have to enlist at the end of 2020. And in the docuseries Suga said he was going to enlist in 2020 too. One thing I'm wondering though is Suga had his shoulder surgery in November 2020 I wonder if he had no plans to get the surgery done before enlisting or if he was going to take a hiatus during the tour to get it done. One good thing about the pandemic is it gave Suga the time to have the surgery and recover.
@@crystalsnow1138 Sorry I am getting to this so late. Thanks for some of the info. I don't remember any talk about the MOTS tour being their last or any intended enlistment that was actually said prior to the pandemic. In fact all they or Big Hit would say was that BTS always intended to enlist but never gave dates etc. If you have some references, please let me know. I haven't watched Festa 2022 in full. It was just too hard for me to watch. I should though and will. In terms of Suga's shoulder, I don't think he planned to get surgery until the pandemic was on in full and he had time. He certainly wouldn't get it while in the military but he would still have done social service military given his shoulder injury. I don't think he would ever have done it during the tour as he would have missed the tour. It took months for him to recover (I have had similar surgery- it's tough). In terms of the law change, it changed because of BTS. it was called the BTS law to give the government more time to try to get their exemption considered. I remember just before the extension, how stressed Jin was and he had no appetite. President Moon couldn't get it done and once he was out of office, there was no real chance. it was just a divisive issue that the new President wasn't engaged with. So BTS pulled the plug themselves and Jin's withdrawal of his request for exemption was withdrawn. This was fun speaking with you. I am going to watch Festa 2022 though it'll be tough, Thanks Army!

Wow Jose, I had no idea this happened, it’s actually the first time I hear anything about this cut performance. I’ve been ARMY for 3 years so I still consider myself relatively new (not baby ARMY, maybe toddler ARMY lol) so thank you for this series of BTS history, I’m still learning. 💟
